Guys blaming Romo for last night

Part of the problem is that the team in general is about as bad as it's been since Romo became the starter. This off-season, Jerry decided to pay Romo like an elite QB, who's on his way to the HoF. That contract set the bar so incredibly high, there is absolutely no way he can live up to it. The guy is a good QB, always has been, and his story is about as rare as it gets, but he's not a $100+ million QB. When you pay a QB Manning/Brees/Brady money, you expect Manning/Brees/Brady performance out of him, and rightfully so. Unfortunately, Romo isn't even in the same conversation as those QB's. I blame Jerry for the unfair expectations placed on Romo, he's being asked to be something that he isn't.

They paid him Flacco, Ryan money. How is it working out for those guys. Romo has 27 tds to 7 ints after getting his money.

Man, why do you guys make these type of posts, it's just a breeding ground for football know-nothings like Zordon, ufc, Clove, The Natural, etc. to continue their tired whining act and mutually like each other's posts. Sounds like a bunch of crickets as much as they click the Like button on each other.

I just dont see a need to act brand new. When we win he's the first guy we look to praise, not the receiver who made the catch, or the linemen who held his block, or the running back who precisely executed his route. By the same token he shouldnt be immune from criticism in a loss either.

Who's acting brand new? Yes, the script is written ahead of time and the QB gets too much praise and too much blame. Yeah, you got your Romo stans or whatever, but a truly objective fan will know that the Romo doesn't throw for 300 yards, 4 TDs, or whatever without someone on the receiving end, without some halfway decent blocking, without the run game at least looking average.

I think the issue is that instead of looking to Romo to praise/blame first, that folks should take a macro look at the offense as a whole. Folks mad at Romo because of a bad throw, then article comes out next day, receiver ran wrong route. It's happened too many times to count. When Romo truly spits the bit, it's usually not much of a debate when it happens.

They are right there with Romo. Ryan is probably the most overrated QB in the entire league, I've honestly never understood what people see in the guy. Flacco, the Ravens made him earn his contract, and he went out and did so, that won't be the last ring he wins. The difference with both of those guys is age. We've seen the best Romo has to offer, in fact, he appears to be in decline, Flacco and Ryan still have many years ahead of them. One of the biggest issues with the Cowboys has been paying guys that are coming out of their prime, and they did it with Romo. I have nightmares thinking about how much they are going to pay Hatcher after this year.

104 yards passing. Let's have a macro look at the offense as a whole and see if we can come together and justify this number.

This is just a bunch of molding your version of reality to fit your ill conceived agenda. Just go to NFL.com and copare their stats this year after signing their contracts. Just do that and come back to me. This is not about arguing, this is just about facts, and they are as clear as day.

And Romo will never see that 100 million, his real contract is to about half of that, the going rate for a top QB. And he is playing like one.

Sure... They gained almost 200 yards on the ground. So that's 300+ total yards. Which is about the average for this team.

Romo missed on some passes. There was some questionable blocking. And there were a couple of drops that would've kept drives going. On the flip side, the run game did it's job. Not only against a porous run defense, but in general, Murray looked pretty comfortable with having a FB in front of him, as well. Even with the offense sputtering in places, what we saw last night was what we've seen all season long.

On the flip side, the passing defense was like a sieve...again. They only looked decent against the run. And again, this is something that we've seen ALL season. The offense is passable. The defense is yuck.

What would be acting brand new is to expect to see anything different going forward and getting mad about it.

We had 14 points heading into the 4th quarter against the 5th worst scoring defense in the league. Our offense, while showing flashes on occasion, is pathetic. We're not going to see eye to eye on this matter so this will be my last reply.

Good.. because really, I don't see the point in taking it further either. Since I never said the offense was doing a bang up job. lol

The offense never had the ball because Chicago was doing anything they wanted on offense. Anything. Kept the ball away from the Cowboys. Blaming Romo or the offense is just stupid.

One big problem I saw on offense last night was our offense's inability to block blitzes coming straight up the middle in critical passing situations. QB's aren't going to function very well - ever - if the little room they have to see up field is being blocked by a linebacker for the few tenths of a second they have before getting crushed. No QB can function if the pocket he is supposed to step into is occupied by a big linebacker.

McCown didn't seem to have this problem at all. Forte was picking up our blitzes, and doing it in a dominating fashion.

Wow do you watch football? Unbeliveable. Maybe because the game plan was to run, run, and run some more.....Murray had a 9.5 yard per carry.

I don't blame Romo.

As I've said I blame Jerry who begat Garrett, who both begat Kiffin. One big fail that won't change.

Romo has had his issues but what is happening now isn't on him.
