halftime show...what'd ya think?

Take issue with my wife.

I asked aloud, "Why can't we just have a highlight show at halftime? Why do we have to have some kind of entertainer?"

She said, "It's for all the women forced to watch with their husbands."

Stereotype?

I think so.

Well, if that is true and the halftime show really IS for the women who are forced to watch, having Prince on there probably doesn't do it for most females (at least not me).

And I don't know what "criteria" makes for a good halftime show. I don't think that it's really a science. But I do know that I stayed on my seat and watched it, which is more than I can say for previous halftime shows.

I've played the saxophone, trumpet, and piano. I played in the school pep band....I'd play, then join the team for warm-ups. I got a "1" rating playing the trumpet in a music recital in high school. I've had voice lessons. My daughter is taking piano lessons now. My son (4) will take guitar lessons as soon as he's big enough.

My wife was a trumpet/french horn player in the jazz band in college.

I'm taking guitar/banjo lessons next fall.

I like music...that's why I can't stand Prince.
