Maybe because the 49ers defense was #1 in the NFL?
Exactly....He's going to face good Defenses especially in the play-offs and there's the crux. Not being able to raise his game when faced with adversity (and a good Defense) is probably the reason why it's soon time to move on.

Oh and btw the 49ers have no.1 Defense....however their PASS DEFENSE is pretty mediocre.

Wasnt there certain commentators who mentioned open receivers?

Look, you get no argument out of me. I think Dak, like Romo...have shown us what their ceiling is. You want to win at a championship level with THIS QB...you have to become more dominant on defense and you have to have a running game that is reliable for a 4 game postseason run. We could not run the ball against he 49ers. It's easy for Jerry and or the fans to say "okay, our 40m QB needs to carry us". It does not work that way. You might want it too. Dak got paid what the market suggested he get paid. Does not mean he would become Patrick Mahomes when the ink on the contract dried. The QB he was 5 mins before he signed the contract is the QB he was 5 mins after the contract

Did you see the Eagles have any problem running the ball against the 49ers? Their #1 defense looks like any defense if you get them on skates. The bully did not like getting bullied.

And I don't pay attention to commentators mentioning receivers open all day. That's every Sunday around the NFL. Was the protection their? Was the QB standing in the pocket at the time or was he already flushed? Has that open receiver earned the QBs trust? So many factors come into play. Listen, Dak cannot make all the throws. So some guys might be open on certain spots of the field because the defense knows as a right handed QB, there are certain spots on the field he cannot get the ball or certain spots on the field he cannot get the ball if they flush him right and he has to throw against his body...and for the record...that's not just Dak.

The mistake this front office made is thinking Dak should be able to overcome his limitations or the teams limitations because he makes a lot of money....and it simply does not work that way.

If it doesnt work that way, there's no point in paying the $40m, that money's better spent on creating that running game and Defense.

Yes, exactly, but at some point you have to realize that the balance between QB and roster responsibilities are out of sync. It's like who's aiding who, the roster enabling the $40m QB or vice versa. I go back to commentators saying receivers were open....Dak hasnt the luxury not to find them, that's what a managerial QB has to do....if not there are many cheaper alternatives.

They had to make a change and they could not get rid of Dak so Kellen and QBC are gone. Kellen is paying for Dak’s failures.
Kellen will gain from this move by gaining experience with teams, players and coaches not tainted by Garret.

Burrows threw game losing INTs last night. He is as much at fault for Bengals loss as Dak is for our loss.
that is tru, but burrow had no time in the pocket compared to Dak.. even piecemeal, our OL is better.

Yeah! the scapegoat is dead!? I apologize for the tards that were, and the tards too pass. I can't apologize for the incompetency that is. I really hate the idea of going back to an offence that ranks 10th to 20th overall every year, which was the preamble to that of Kellen Moore. The offence is Vanilla, it lacks motion and Pizzazz; crap I tell you! I'll take the wins over that glitz, anytime, anywhere; yes sir, I will. Change is not always good! "The evil that men do comes after them, the good is oft interred with their bones, so let it be with Caesar.///not(Kellen)saying this, personally, duh\\\." I get it, and hate it, but this is a quote that sticks with me in history as well as sports.
He has done a lot more right than he has wrong and most people would take that.

Not Cowboys fans, I can definitely find fault in his play calling but to blame, the game on the coordinator is lazy. If Dak were on a couplable/cut able/tradeable contract it would be his arse on the chopping block. Despite Kellen's minor transgressions. Ask yourself? Are you mad with a top five offensive Co. in the league or have you sided with the masses, and joined the easy out scapegoat that everyone has chosen for this insurrection.

Kellen is most definitely a scapegoat, I suffer as a fan of the Cowboys, as much as he does losing his job=(exaggeration financially)=. It's unjust, wrong, what have you. Somebody will most definitely wreak the benefits,(Chargers), this is the way!?. I hope and pray that Mr. fats McCarthy can pull together an offence that resembles that of what has been displayed over the past couple years... or I guess we will see irrelevancy again. The fact of the matter is a top 10 coordinator is not happenstance, its more of a circumstance. Look at the past Super Bowl winners. The common denominator is,..,,, an elite QB. Or a perfect team, that makes up .for the lack of a perfect QB. We are almost perfect enough to make up for mediocre QB play, if Mr. Irrelevant can squeak into the championship round. So can Dallas with a top 12 QB and a superb surrounding cast.

In some circumstances a change is just, and sometimes that is what you need. In this case, I almost agree. You have to find out if it's Dak or if it's Kellen blowing up the mojo. Everyone's heard the phrase. "The grass is always greener on the other side." It better be the greenest of greens. Why give up on a good thing? Because the circumstance dictates you to do so? I really waiver when people conclude, a change is a good one; just because it is one!@?

Questions/ generalities/ here say, nobody really know until the universe plays its hand; God I miss Vegas. If I was the house, my bet would be on failure; only because I follow the pattern. My biggest discretion is selling Amari for peanuts and hoping you can make up for his production with a #5 wideout like Brown. Fore shame. We are all wannabe's, but I would take a majority of your ideas over the swill these turds throw about to placate the masses. Sometime I am just embarrassed to have to associate myself with this establishment. (Hey a fan is a fan, can't help it, 27 years of awesome failurtude and hopelessness. Cheers everybody.)

What I am jawing on about in half English generalities, is mostly this...Kellen might have been bland, but was this a personnel problem?/ assistant problem?/ or an above station problem.? Getting rid of Kellen is a short sided, fan suppressing solution, which I fully suspect will end in sorrow. I believe, Dak has been, and will be the problem, because he fails to grasp the offence in a way that can be deployed in an efficient manner. He don't scan or process fast enough. If he does, he places the ball short and behind the receiver in almost every situation. If Kellen does go to LA, I really think the Chargers will be top 5 in offence next year; nothing new for Kellen.

I know this post isn't a hate Kellen post... this is more of a Dak processing an offence problem. I apologize for being a drag but I really think Kellen was being held back by Dak. Run's up the middle and Curls abound it doesn't change the fact that Dak couldn't find the open receivers in a simple offence; good luck Mcarthy.

Excuse my grammar and punctuation. I'm not an electrical Einstein.
For the TLDR elementary students, I've summed up what you said in a nutshell------------
Dak has been, and will be the problem, because he fails to grasp the offence in a way that can be deployed in an efficient manner. He don't scan or process fast enough. If he does, he places the ball short and behind the receiver in almost every situation. Do you agree we are stuck with Dak for at least 2 years?

Certainly have him in 2023, but could be cut (post 1st June) 2024...it'll save $34m.
This is why the rush to change coaching team as it's this possibly only one year. We now seriously have to consider BPA in the draft and that may even include QB, (which i wouldnt have done last year) we can no longer plan in the hope that Dak is a SB winning QB.
I'll certaintly expect we draft a QB at some point this year, a back up with upside projection.

I'm glad he's gone. The offence was too vanilla and predictable. How many players from opposing teams claim they knew what play was coming??? That's on the OC. 1/2 of Dak's picks were on the receivers? Our offensive coaches never addressed these issues. We all knew if we lost the turnover battle to San Fran we would lose and we did...turnovers matter.

We had as good a chance as any NFC team to get the super bowl...while Dan Quinn constantly adjusted and got the D ready for the playoffs our offensive coaches played tiddlywinks and never addressed the turnover problem...they all deserve to be gone. I just wish Big Mike was gone as well because as head coach he never took the turnover issue all that seriously. The way Quinn had our D playing I think we could have beat Philly...this was a big missed opportunity. One that may not come along anytime soon. If San Fran gets a legit number 1 QB that will be an even bigger problem for a while.

kellen has a better job now with a better org and FO,and better HC, so I will be interested to see how he does, he will have no excuses if he fails.
He also has a top QB now so dont feel bad for kellen.

The jones boys think they have good talent, and a good HC lol, so they are going to try new coaches on offense.
No telling how it turns out, but at least it is a change.
They should have fired the GM lol but that will never happen so we get this.

It is a done deal, so get used to it, and it is something to talk about lol.

Thank you for sharing...

My one point of confusion in your estimation is that it is Dak and not Kellen... Kellen's offense has been bad without Dak and league-topping with Dak.

I find it fascinating how people can come on here and just spout utter nonsense like:
because he fails to grasp the offence in a way that can be deployed in an efficient manner. He don't scan or process fast enough. If he does, he places the ball short and behind the receiver in almost every situation.
I think you used a great term in "scapegoat"... I think most in the fanbase and media are looking for one. And I'll give you the one that is probably the most accurate and that's "expectations". People get tricked into fake expectations that aren't going to be achieved by 31 teams every year.

Here is where the expectations scapegoat really came into a hold for me: We start the season with the stinker against the Bucs. Expectations are a terrible season. Win a few games... QB controversy? Super Bowl contenders?
Philly game. Dak needs to come back.
Lions game. Dak sucks. Should be better, etc.
Nice run, bad losses, good wins. NOT supposed to beat the Bucs!!!!
CRUSH the Bucs.
Short week, on the road again. Injuries. Not supposed to beat the 9ers but we compete and NOW losing is the problem? Why???

Expectations.

This is a great move for Kellen Moore. If he does go to the Chargers, he will thrive with Herbert as his QB.

As for the Cowboys? Blah. Sean Payton redux

And the OC hollering around here will only intensify
....what if Kellen fails at the Chargers or Herbert ints increase?

Wow you have a very active imagination . . But if you do not recall many on here. . . . While they weren't busy blaming Micah, Diggs and The Offensive Line for the Lost at San Fran. . . . They were calling for Moore's head

I don't really think they wanted him gone so fast tho . . . I think they wanted to use him as a whipping boy for a couple weeks but He came up roses

So . . . They all like damn . . . Herbert aint really all that good anyways
I’m telling you what was being reported man that’s all.

KM's vaunted offense disappeared like a fart in the wind in the playoffs.

14.5 points per game the last two seasons against the 49ers in the playoffs.

That is why KM was shown the door, regular season stats mean jack.

here you go

Same thing he said . . . "I heard" . . . Now this is the 2nd tome "I heard it" and I still don't believe it. . All I know is this late statement out of nowhere buys Jerry and The Cowboys some time by deflecting the Blame from the situation surrounding Kellen and Dak . . .

Which is this Kellen is a great guy and Dak sucks . . . Jerry is stuck with Dak. . . Rather then have Kellen be the escape goat for the next 2 years . . . Jerry let Him walk.

Now everyone is debating if it was a "Smart" Decision . . . if Dak was the problem or Kellen . . . So for crowd control they leak a story like this to divert attention

One Big Shell Game that Jerry has been pulling over our eyes all these years
