Hard Knox Chat

As I said on draft day, if Bennett becomes .0000001% of the player he thinks he already is, he'll be the greatest TE in the history of the NFL.

I loved Garrett's comments to the offense about how he disliked those coaches who always told him how good he was. He said he knew he wasn't a good player. The coaches he respects to this day are those who were honest with him.

That was pretty cool. Then again pretty much everything Garrett had to say was spot on. We are lucky Jerry was able to keep him around.

It was also good to see Campo back, you have to love his energy, its obvious he loves to coach and like he said he is a Cowboy.

That guy rules. He's playing Sabertooth in the new Wolverine movie.

I DVRed the show tonight so I haven't been able to see it yet. Seeing all you guys loving the show makes me want to rush home and watch it!

Your going to love it. It was pretty great. I was expecting something totally different.

I hope they do some stuff on carpenter next week.

Bennett seemed to want to ignore everything John Garrett was telling him. He begrudgingly did what he was told. And to think, he was so happy to become a Cowboy, but doesn't want to do what it takes. I hope they get through to him fast!

On another note, Tank and Pac are really blending in well with the other players. Take that, mediots.

I think we now know why Garrett (TE coach) immediately told Bennett right after the draft that comments about Jessica were off-limits. On draft day Ciskowski told the staff, (before they picked Bennett), that they had to "step on his throat" and tell him how it was to be done.

Hopefully Romo, Witten and TO's work ethic will rub off on Bennett if not he isnt going to be around long.

I hope so, because Martellus was giving him some serious attitude. Not that he was mouthing off, but he was definitely trying to blow off his advice and not give him any eye contact. That was what annoyed me the most about him.

The good thing is Martellus Bennett will get to watch this as well (unless he was counting on StarGazer:laugh2:)

Maybe he'll see this and light bulb will turn on. Hard knocks may change his career hopefully.

Excellent 1st episode! I think the Garretts are awesome motivators. I like Wade's methodology of working them hard during camp, but not too hard. He wants to protect the players and have them fresh for the season. Would have liked to have seen a segment on Flozell, Big and the other linemen...

That wicked block from Barber really stood out. The show was done well, not the soap opera I thought they may attempt to fabricate.

It was awesome watching the TO vs. Adam Jones battles.

They are going to make each other better and better.

Also, TO was saying that he's faster and in better shape than last year. Hard to believe he could be better than we was last year, but if he is... better get your popcorn ready!

maretllus bennet seems to be in over his head....he looks like a kid that wanted the nfl for the fame and money it can bring...as opposed to someone who is going to do everything necessary to ensure a 10 year career.

why would we take such a gamble with a pick this high?

sorry if this upsets some of you....but nothing about him says professional or hungry or coachable

I think youre correct but the same things were said about Gurode and Adams, look at them now. He is still young enough to turn it around with the proper guidance. Hopefully he will do so.

Martellus Bennett reminded me of when he was one of the top HS recruits in the state of Texas. He called a press conference to announce which school he was going to commit to. He stood in front of a lot of microphones and flashing cameras and said (paraphrasing0 "After a lot of soul searching, I decided I'm going to go to the University of Miami (I'm don't remember the actual school), and put on a Hurricane cap. Then he took the cap off and said "... but then I decided I wanted to go the University of Texas" and put on a Longhorn hat. Then said "but then I finally decided Texas A&M was going to be my home" and took off the Longhorn hat and put on the Aggie hat.

It wasn't enough to just declare your commitment, he had to make a spectacle about it in front of the media and tease other school's fans. It left the distinct impression that, even at 18 years old , he kind of had a healthy opinion of himself.

John Garrett will get to him its just not going to happen all at once. Its kind of like Bennett's puppy crapping on his bathroom floor, you can break that habit with consistent training.

The "tough love" isn't likely to get thru to Bennett as quickly with cameras in his condo. From what I saw, attention is the worst thing for him right now. There are enough compelling stories on this team that I hope they totally switch gears next week and focus on Carp, Choice, both lines, Amendola and others.

That spot where TO was taken time to explain coming out of the breaks in a pattern to the new WR (can't remember his name), HBO referred to him as the 80th player on the roster, was a perfect example of a leader and this is a team effort to improve.

Thanks Mcflabb, we're loving that trash you help kick to the curb.

So I guess our hearing impaired fans are going to think T.O.'s overweight.:D

jason is going to be one hell of a head coach for us after this season.

Yeah, that was definitely my impression.

Gotta give credit to Wade for putting aside his ego and recognizing that having Garrett again as one of his coordinators gives him the best chance to win. Not as if he had any other choice, but still Wade handles it well.
