Here's my issue with the whole thing.

Greg Hardy is a bad guy. He's a royal ***. That much is not debatable. He beat that girl, probably often, and she kept coming back for more like a typical coke ***** would. It was an ugly relationship all the way around, no doubt.

But this is getting ridiculous.

Where are the stories about other active players? I'm hearing nothing about Ben Roethlisberger, Adrian Peterson, Mike Vick, Kenny Britt, Aldon Smith, etc, etc. Ray Lewis works for NFL Network. So does Michael Irvin.

I guess old rapes, distant murders, years of dog killing, whip marks across young boys' scrotums, ancient assaults with scissors...none of that is "trendy" enough to talk about anymore?

Jason Kidd and Junior Seau beat their wives on multiple occasions, and we celebrate them at every turn. Kidd is an NBA coach who is beloved in Dallas. Seau was treated with god-like worship during his induction into the Hall of Fame. The Rick Pitino story has already died after he basically bought hookers for 17-year-old recruits. That was quick.

Yet, Greg Hardy is getting dragged through the media again and again and again.

No doubt ******** has been holding this until the expungement was official. This will again be front and center on Sunday night (I'm glad I'll be at the game, so I don't have to hear it.)

Selective outrage is a pet peeve of mine. And that's largely what this is.

I can't wait for Bob Costas to lecture us.

6'4 280lbs man had to defend himself against a 5'7" 110 pound woman ........ I guess Adrian Peterson was just defending himself from that 4 year old.

You people are insane.

It's insane comparing a four year old kid to a grown woman. Not sure if serious.

Did you read my earlier post? I said I can understand if people say he has to be smarter about who he's dating and to just walk away and I clearly said that. He's still a relatively young guy. You have to remember that. I just think it's unfair to portray him as some psychopath. I think he'll learn his lesson. Don't be around crazy and walk away. Don't get into arguments or heated discussion. JUST WALK AWAY.

He's not a psychopath.

He hit a woman. That doesnt' make him a lunatic, pyscho in my eyes. But is makes him a man of questionable character. I can live with some meathead, nitwits on my team that do dumb things......... Randle stealing underwear, stuff like that.

But hitting a woman? There's a line somewhere there, at least for me.

Wow what? Nobody knows what went down. Only Hardy and Holder. Case was thrown out. It's all speculation on what Hardy allegedly did. The media does not want it to go away and lives to suck people in.

Time to move on.

To some, it's not speculation. Short of a woman coming to stab or shoot you, there's never a time for a man to hit a woman. Certainly not a 280lb freak of an athlete to hit a 110lb woman. And unless you believe all those bruises and cuts were from here purposely launching herself into walls, mirrors, couches with Hardy standing in the middle of the room doing nothing, I think it's perfectly fair for people to think Hardy is just not a good dude and don't really want him on the team.

"Wow" is a cowardly response. If you have objections to points made in a post then make your case. You might be surprised how many folks agree with you, maybe not. My point is not to attack you. I think your "wow" reply was a tempered response to something that's begs a much more vigorous rebuttal.

He is a current Dallas Cowboy that's why and a culture that Jerry built. Its not only an attack on Hardy but on Jerry too because of his history of turning his head the other way (Brent, Underwood, Irvin, etc). Its selective coverage when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Having said that I do not condone anything this guy did or has done to women.....just because you are great at football doesn't make you a good human being.

Where has anything ever said that there a history of abuse between them? I've just never heard that.

And I agree that the "website" was holding the photos until after the expungement. Had to gather clicks somehow.

You should probably check into a hospital. I'm worried you have something eating away at your brain with some of your takes on this situation in this thread.

I will not defend Greg Hardy. But I will ask this question (even though I already know the answer)...there are other players in the NFL who have been accused of domestic violence, they are:

Tony McDaniel (no contest, 6 mo. probation, suspended 1 game) Tampa Bay Bucs
Kevin Williams (pleaded guilty, 1 yr probation) of the N.O. Saints
Erik Walden of the Detroit Lions, (50 hrs community service..suspended 1 game)
Randy Starks (charges dropped IF counseling) of the Cleveland Brown
Frostee Rucker (plead no contest, vandalism & false imprisonment, 3 years probation, 750 hours community service) of the Arizona Cardinals

(this list does not include those players for whom charges were dropped, except Randy Starks due to the circumstances under which the charges were dropped.)

Current Team source: http://espn.go.com/nfl/players

why are these guys and their team not under the same scrutiny as Greg Hardy and the Dallas Cowboys? They should be. They all should be.

Absolutely.

But I wouldn't want any of those guys on my team either. I was against even kicking the tires on Ray Rice.

Yeah, I don't understand the outrage. I learned nothing new in the article. He beat her up. That was already known. The outrage should have been around already.
That most certainly was NOT already known - at least not by everyone. An amazing number of people in here refused to acknowledge it happened.

They know who they are.

I don't disagree. As I said, I'm not defending Greg Hardy. But it just seems there is a spotlight on him and on the Cowboys (what's new?) while these other teams, signing other players with similar backgrounds, are getting off with no scrutiny.

What if I do believe all those bruises and cuts were from her purposely launching herself into a bathroom wall, and a futon with a few weapons on it? What disputes it? Not the testimony from third parties that were present, not the photographs... nothing disputes that belief, so why would it not be perfectly fair for people to think Hardy is a good dude and welcome him on the team?

There's far less evidence here than there was against Brady.

Fair or unfair, because Hardy is basically a defensive superstar, he got more attention. The circumstances of his case made for a more interesting story as well. He also missed a whole year, then the NFL suspended him, then he had a very public appeal process which led to the news coming up again when the sentence was reduced. Now the news comes up again because the record was expunged and then pictures came out a day later.

Add that to the fact he plays for the Dallas Cowboys which is in a larger media market than any of those other players and you get what we have now.

Oh and don't forget that he also made some questionable comments about the wives of other players and then got into a verbal altercation with a coach on the sideline which had him knocking the clipboard out of his hands and having to be restrained.

Apparently he hasn't learned his lesson yet from what we saw on the sidelines a couple of weeks ago. Despite all the trouble he's been through and just returning from a suspension for being accused of putting his hands on someone he was having a physical altercation with one of the coaches on the sidelines during a game. If he did the same thing to someone on the street he would be facing another assault charge. Hardy has some serious anger issues.

The laws of physics say Brady is innocent.

The laws of biology say Hardy is a woman beating scumbag.

Anyone comparing the two is a scumbag with warped perspective.

The only person to whom this will matter is Hardy. Those that judge him a woman beater won't change their opinion because of this any more than those that have reserved judgment on him see this as the logical next step. Congratulations Kraken, the law loves you again but the media still hates you.

what bugs me is that Terry Bradshaw goes on National TV, goes off on Hardy. I don't remember him doing that against Big Ben. Did he?

I never said the guy was a saint. I DO NOT CONDONE HITTING a woman either. But I will not speculate that I know how it all went down. Who am I to judge? Won't do it.

As a fan, I'm focused on Hardy hitting Bradford and anyone with the football.
