Parsons is making everyone on defense better. I believe that is easier to do as an elite pass rusher vs an elite receiver. I don't see how CD makes our OLine better. However a great pass rush makes all of your DB's better.

Dumb. Every year the price goes up. You sign them at the end of 3 years to use the 4th year to roll some of the cap in the extension
My dawg, Ceedee and his camp weren’t willing to sign this offseason cause the WR market is skyrocketing.

He knows he can get 33-35M with another season like this. Had he signed last year he would’ve been at 26-28M.

We all know Ceedee is a top WR, the FO isn’t that stupid. Thing is Ceedee knows too, so signing early makes absolutely no sense financially.

Y’all remember who awesome CeeDee looked with Cooper Rush at QB?

-neither do I.

CeeDee is as good as who’s throwing to him. So best player on the team? Nope. Can’t go there, but He is top 3 wideout in the game, no doubt.

I'm hopeful the focus is on being the best team in the league.

The truth is, yeah, we'll be arguing who the better player is soon. Lamb or Parsons.

Lamb really does have the potential to be that good.

Breaking news: Jerry Jones believes Steele is the best O-linemen in Cowboys history. o_O :omg:
He had just came off 2 really good years but the real issue is that he would have been a FA after this season and he agreeed to a reasonable extension that won’t be in the ball park of lambs. Lamb
Also, Lamb is a WR. The WR market has been flying up year after year. He has absolutely zero incentive to sign early. The difference between one offseason to the next could be 6-8 AAV.

The team tried to get him early obviously, it takes two to tango though. Ceedee’s camp is cool with waiting a year and getting 35M instead of 28M.
the WR market is soaring. They will get it done but it’s also a balancing act. You want these guys on second contracts staggered some so some are early and cheap while others are later in the deal and higher.

U in his camp? you know this?

This FO is that stupid they just did the same thing with dak for the first extension.

Ppl dont turn down a good market offer. You dont think they kno he could blow a knee etc then make less.

If they offered him a competitive market deal it would have anyway started a convo.

Imagine simping for one of the worst front offices in the league.

WR is more important than Edge Rusher.

I said if it came down to it I would rather pay Diggs than Parsons. I love Parsons but he benefits from being on an underrated Defensive line with Demarcus Lawrences

Without Micah Parsons this defense would still be a top 10 unit.
Without Ceedee Lamb this offense would be mediocre.

Just look up all the commentary all off season. They were talking all along but Ceedee and camp were cool with waiting.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb reportedly isn't hurrying to sign a contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys prior to the start of the 2023 NFL regular season this week.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys would like to sign Lamb to a new deal in the near future, but Lamb is in "no rush" since his price tag could go up even more with a strong 2023 campaign.

Just simple business my g. Name me one top tier WR who’s going to sign early if he doesn’t get some mega deal. No way Jefferson signs early lol. Just facts.

Dak is different because A) opinions on him vary, B) he was a 4th round pick (skews not only value but also backpay angle), and C) they were set at a 33M offer but Dak’s agent rebuffed after his hot start to 2019.

Dak’s camp is the exact same. His agent is extremely aggressive. They were willing to bet on themselves constantly and it got him a huge deal.

Look at them and Diggs. Both parties were cool with a top 5 but not far and away market setting deal. Therefor it got done quick. Had the CB market been growing like WR/QB he’d have probably held out. No point in doing all that if you’re only set to gain 2M more.

Cowboys made no effort to get it done. They were ok with it which is a problem. Vikings fumbled the bag too.

Is that just a gut feeling?

Nothing in the media pointed to that at all. All the sources that covered the off-season indicated the team was actively trying to get something done. Including the source I sent.

Think we just gotta accept that business is business. Rarely do elite players at high value positions take a contract early unless it’s just ridiculously market-topping. No matter how much effort we put, if he doesn’t want to sign there’s nothing that can be done. And common practice would indicate that nobody would even want to sign early.

You can’t say every team with a top tier WR is doing it wrong, logic would indicate that these WR’s know that holding for a year equals 6-8M more AAV. Same thing with Hill and same thing will happen with Chase. Obviously they try to sign them early, but why would an elite WR do that? I certainly wouldn’t when one more season gets me that much more paid.

Think we have to just accept that top tier WR’s ain’t signing early without a mega-deal being offered.
