Drew is completing over 61% of his passes this season. In four games he completed over 70%. In one game nearly 80%. Those are excellent numbers.

But some whine mongers will come along to analyze every incompletion, but if the completion percentage is already excellent, analyzing how bad the incomplete passes were is a useless argument used by bashers to push through their anti-Drew dogma. They'll say things like: "how many passes have been too high, too low, or out of reach?" Well it's 100%-61% or 39%. They're called incompletions.

Witten? I can't agree with that at all. Like any player he can get frustrated but has not been a problem for this team.

You have definitely got the wrong guy. Jason Witten broke his jaw as a rookie and missed one game. He played with his jaw wired shut.

Big Neil. I really don't like playing the numbers game because they are not a real indication of what we are talking about here. Those simple "in-completions" could have happened at the most "clutch" times in the game. What good is his passing percentage if he is not making the big pass plays? This is my argument and from what I've seen, Drew has done his fair share of killing drives with his rookie type decision making skills and his tendency to pat the ball instead of throwing it.

Once again I will ask. Would Drew be in your top 5 QB's with the game on the line? Now let me remind you. This is a guy with a lot of years in the league and has played more years then some guys who have already retired. So although I could easily use his current numbers to compare him on the all-time list, I won't. Let's just pick from the current players in the league.

When the 'O' line manages to create a pocket despite being dominated for the most part of the game for the QB, the QB must recognize that he has a pocket to set and throw. This is "clutch" 'O' line play.

If the QB has the chance to make the BIG pass he must make that pass. If chances to make the pass are slim then the QB has no room for error and must make that pass when the opportunity arises. When everything the offense is doing is not working, it is the QB that has to keep the huddle up and optimistic and willing to execute their game. This is what I expect from any QB that is known as "clutch" and I would like to expect it from Drew. I'm just not sure that he is consistent in situations like that.

I wouldnt say he is #2 all-time, except that statistically he clearly owns that record. I would say that he has been in many clutch situations and performed pretty well. 2 Championship games come to mind. I also remember the Pats being hopelessly behind, leaving the stadium after giving up on them and then coming back to watch him tie up the game. It was probably the best comeback I've ever witnessed.

His whole antics after the Oakland game was unacceptable. You don't throw a temper tantrum against your own team like that. That was childish. Just because Drew couldn't deliver a 3rd game winning TD in his first 4 games was no reason for Witten to call him out like that.

I have no problem with Witten as a person or player. I understand your point but think your making a lot more out of it than there is.

2) Peyton Manning
3) Carson Palmer
4) Ben Roethesburger
5) Drew Bledsoe

In GW drives in 2005, I don't think anyone has more than Drew this year, but this is my overall rankings.

Yeah I don't hate Witten but I think he's showing too much arrogance.

If a batter in baseball is 3/3 in a game, and comes up in the 9th with the bases loaded and strikes out, I don't say he's not clutch because he couldn't go 4/4. That's too much to expect. If the batting average is solid, he's going to get his hits. Drews has 3 GW drives and only 1 game losing drive this season. The rest he neither won nor lost. And the 1 he lost, Seattle, I still claim he should never have had to go out there. The Defense needed to hold on the final drive. But by the same logic as above, I can't expect them to after such a solid game, but the O missed that FG and that was the real killer.
 
Note: for clutch QBs - this is assuming they all have a solid O-Line. If a team doesn't have a solid O-Line there will be no regular clutch performances by the QB.

We will have to just agree to disagree on this. Witten was frustrated because of the loss and may have gone over board a bit in his reaction but I don't think there is any ill will with him and Bledsoe. I don't see this as a major deal or any kind of distraction. I just think you making more out of this than there really is.
 
As much as Bledsoe IS at fault most of the time in recent weeks, maybe sans Flo HAS hurt us significantly.

Even Chiefs fans here have admitted Willie Roaf's loss for several weeks made Trent Green look downright awful at times.

Green is better than Bledsoe, without a doubt. However-when you have noone to trust on your blind side, you're likely going to waste most of your time thinking about this, rather than concentrate on reading defenses.
 
Yes I would have to imagine being blindsided by a 300 pound person would not be a pleasant experience. That would tend to stick in the back of your mind....

I would have dropped the issue but I recently heard that on ESPN or something someone pointed out that Drew doesn't like Witten, and that wouldn't surprise me, though I don't think it would impact their performance together. Witten had a good TD vs. Denver to tie the game at 21.

I don't buy this at all, but if he doesn't then he needs an attitude adjustment. Witten is one of the best young TEs in the NFL.
