I really have to ask. Have fans completely lost it or is this board being taken over by trolls?

Dak broke his thumb. Couldn't throw a football for many weeks. Missed 5 weeks of the season. Was still wearing a brace on his thumb. Comes back and, while rusty, plays a very " Cooper Rush" esque game and gets a win against a team coming off a bye.
Most people on this forum and in the media said... learn from Cooper. Keep this game plan when Dak comes back. Etc. Etc.
They do and all the haters come out.

Tyler Smith is balling out. He is a rookie starting at LT in the NFL. NOT AN EASY TASK. PFF (for what they're worth) has him ranked as the 6th best tackle in the league. IN THE LEAGUE!! I saw a post debating if he could play the position!!!!!!

These are just two examples. But, have "fans" lost it?

I didn’t feel like Dak or the players played poorly. I believe the coaching staff started the first half getting away from there game plan that has worked. Starting with the coin toss and giving the O the ball instead of the D. It took nearly the first half to implement a Run first approach- instead forcing Dak to get back in track. Let the game come to him and keep winning with the run game - defense and special teams. Players were not my concern the oc and head coaches decision making was.

Was you more of a Craig Morton fan? I had to ask. I get Dak isn't Mahomes but again who is? Anyway we don't have a superstar qb presently but we are stuck with Dak till Jerry says bye-bye. I just hope for the best in the mean time.
I always preferred Roger but Craig did throw a pretty deep ball

I think Jerry is the reason for the last 27 years.

Why cut it off at 27 years? Is that some magical year? I'm being facetious of course but it illustrates the modern fan. Why not talk about 30 rather than 27 ? because 30 years ago Jerry was the Greatest thing since sliced bread. You 'd be laughed out the room if you talked the ish that modern fans talk about him. That's the hubris of the young and if it's not youth then you flat out need to be ASHAMED of yourself. because old people shouldn't be so stupid.

So...what exactly did you need Dak and his salary for?

OK moving the goalpost!!! Now it's about money . It wasn't about money when Jerry was Screwing him royalty and franchise tagging him, so why is it your issue now. I'll save you sometime , when you come with that weakassed argument about it hurting the team. Dak was almost rendered unable to to walk (Alex Smith anyone seen those commercials for the footware co. OUCH) So get the puck outta here (NHL reference) with that BS

The value in this offense is he is the best QB option we have, he is more mobile and a better passer than the other QB's we have on the roster. I'm all for an upgrade if we could get one, Without blowing huge holes in this teams cap, are best option is Dak to keep improving and to keep running this ball control offense and help the defense which is the ceneter piece of this team. The ink is dry on the contract so that whole argument is a moot point to me also. Its really simple to me, this season our best QB option to help this team is Dak.
I agree Prescott is the best QB option this season but it's not exactly saying much. We just have to hope Parsons stays healthy enough to start as he's more important than the starting QB.

Moving the goal posts?

Money has ALWAYS been a huge factor in discussions of Dak, especially now when the discussions revolve around him and Rush. I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Unable to walk? Now who is bringing the BS?

People have been propping Dak hard. Now that he didn't perform ANY better than Rush, against the worst Defense in the league no less, it's excuse city and moving ALL the goal posts.

Then people point that out, and people try to say THEY are the ones who have lost it. It's Bizarro World.

Much of the Cowboys fanbase is entitled, the most entitled fanbase in any sport. For some strange reason, they feel they have a right to win and this is not a recent development, it has been this way for a long time.

The Cowboys and the Lions have about as much success in the last 25 years yet if the Lions win yesterday, that is not an ugly win to their fans, it is beautiful. It is not about what Goff did or didn't do, it is about winning the game.

No offense, but posts like these are part of the problem. We've got fans who can't stand Dak and are overly critical ofDak, fans who can't stand and are overtly critical about fans who are overly critical of Dak, and fans who can't stand fans who are overly critical about fans who are overly critical of Dak.

When we learn that it's OK for someone to not agree with us, even if they hold a ridiculous position, we can get back to actually just discussing the team rather than being so reactionary to people's viewpoints and making threads like this one.

The Dak apologists are equally annoying. I don’t know why people can’t just take the emotion out of these threads and discuss things with a little bit of common sense.

10 percent of posters : Dak can do no wrong
10 percent of posters. : Dak can do nothing right
80 percent of posters: Dak sometimes does some good things and sometimes he sucks. He sucks a bit too much to be making $40m per year and although we hope he wins us a SB we have our doubts

10 percent #1 about the 80 percent: You are a Dak hater

10 percent #2 about the 80 percent. You are a Dak apologist.

80 percent. Hmmm. This seems very stupid and childish. Are all of these 10 percenters 14 years old?
Post of the year!

There are a lot of trolls on this forum. Dealing with rival fans is a lot easier than some trolls on this forum, I wish I was kidding. At least fans of other teams, from my experience, have logical arguments. When someone posts juvenile, troll filled swill, I ignore them. They aren't respectable enough to receive a comment from me.

I do not consider Rush to be a better QB than Dak Prescott and never have. He's a practice squad QB. But he's a solid backup for the Cowboys because he knows the system like the back of his hand. If he joined another team as a starter he would fall flat on his face. Yet the team is 5-1 with him as the starting QB including several wins against good teams. This roster is loaded if people want to admit it or not.

Prescott needs to really utilise his legs more to be a genuine difference maker. He previously had the ability to rush for first downs but not really since the leg injury. Unless he flips the script in this regard then I fail to see his value to the offense.

So what? You have been dead wrong about Dak since day 1 and not seen his value. And despite your wrong way analysis Dak was a voted a top 10 QB by his years and his offense has lead the NFL in scoring since 2020.

lol....you must be hitting the booze early

Nope he is right. Trolls like you got it all wrong. Dead wrong. AGAIN!!

You were told over and over again by educated fans like me that his salary would be right in line in a few years and then be a bargain. Its happened spot on, just like we told you.

Just ONE MORE THING you got totally and completely wrong!!!

Congrats!!

Dak has lead the #1 scoring offense in the NFL since 2020. Thats his value. Anyone that doesnt see it is a complete and total moron.

Cant reason with morons. When a guy says "I dont see the value" they are basically telling you how clueless they are. Nothing wrong with Dak. Its the poster himself that is the issue.

I am not just speaking about Dak. I'm speaking about the entire team.

Maybe people only read what they want.

Here’s the bottom line. With this defense balling and special teams holding their own, if Dak gets back to his better form we should be seeing a championship game run

the NFC is wide open and I like our chances when facing either Jalen Hurts or Geno Smith. Dak has more experience than these guys combined and if our defense continues to get turnovers and give the offense short fields, there should be success.

Better take advantage of a season where Aaron Rodgers and Tom Terrific have been neutered

Now facing a top AFC team?……..not so confident. Baby steps
