So this now plays into Romos hands for getting his extention done, also, I don't understand why Parcells would anounce this before a trade would be completed? Who ever we were working on a trade with would now have more leverage.

I am with you! I dont think there is going to be a trade, unless it is already agreed upon.

I dont know what the moving parts are, but I doubt it involves a trade based on BP making a statement.

I totally concur Dale. After all how many young rookie QBs look wonderful in the pre-season only to unravel once defenses start game planning and actually try and confuse the QB and disguise what they are doing? It happens year after year after year. That's why it's difficult for me to gush over any Qb for pre-season play.

Also, you have to see a QB perform over the course of a lengthy period of time before you know what they really are because teams learn their strengths and weaknesses and start defending them differently.

Even Q looked good in several games. I remember Jaws and the Monday night Countdown crew gushing about him early in the 2003 season and it was really all smoke and mirrors.

I just don't want us to stop the search. Look at NE drafting Brady when they had Bledose and drafting Cassel when they have Brady and Atlanta drafting Schaub when they have Vick. That's what I want us to do, which we should have been doing since Aikman started aging.

The good thing is he has passed the preseason test with flying colors, so far.

At first it was just "one game." He then went out and followed that up with a near-perfect game in terms of quarterback rating. So far, so good.

How any of this will translate to the regular season is anyone's guess.

I don't see the advantage of that either. We're already in good salary cap position.

It seems that the loss (when considering potential) is far greater than any type of gain (monetary) if no trade is involved.

If this is an ego thing, then it needs to stop right there. With both parties.

Just throwing out options -- obviously the team would prefer to get something ... but if there isn't anything to be had and Henson wants out this would seem to be an option the team would pursue.

That is what I'm thinking as well because otherwise it makes no sense. If Henson is not on the roster then he has to be a FA there are no other option I can see other than a pending trade.

I am excited about Romo, he is doing well.

But even he is far from being our QB of the future just yet.

He is still very green, ... let's hope Bledsoe stays healthy for a while.

Parcells says he wants to get TR 3 or 4 more quarters this pre-season.
