If he is called on then yes it goes with the job and I think he is better prepared than he was in 2004 when he was a rookie who had been away from the game.

Since you started the thread and you did not mention cutting ties with the other project we have named "Romo", would YOU be ready to see Romo lead the team with everything on the line?

One word answer YES or NO

Do you honestly believe that Henson is better upside and present, than any qb that could be had on the wire this year?

you can bet your *** that Henson has a better upside than any QB on the waiver-wire

btw, Parcells went with Romo and Henson competing for the backup job, and ultimately Romo as his backup, during the season, so I see no reason why he won't go with whoever wins the battle in TC and preseason as his backup again? and besides, Bledsoe never goes down, so this hypothetical what if is an exercise in futility

I want to see a vet backup. The time is now.

yes the time is now, but fortunately, the Cowboys don't agree with you, they went with Romo as their backup to Bledsoe last year, and they'll do it again with whoever wins it in TC and preseason out of he and Henson, and don't forget, the Cowboys are keeping both around, developing them

Once again, the cart is before the horse.

Per you it would be Romo anyway. So why even ask about Henson?

Exactly, it's pretty clear to most Cowboys fans that long term, Henson is who they have the most hope on.

Yes, I would be fine with Henson getting a shot to lead this team. I would be fine with giving Romo a shot to lead this team.

Who is this magical veteran you want brought in? Any veteran fine with you? Provide a solution not just a gripe session.

Yall Henson fans are crazy. I hope like hell that Bledsoe doesn't get hurt b/c we are screwed at the backup spot. I will pull for both of them, if they are all we have but I would like to have some experience somehwere behind Bledsoe.

Well, maybe you should have watched the game then. He completed 3-3 before he was injured in first half. In 3rd quarter is when he missed like 8 passes or so, when he was visibly limping on sidelines.

I hope Bledsoe does not get injured either as for how either backup would do at this stage we will get a glimps at both guys in late July when training camp starts.

Well maybe I would have it I had a station that plays the game. Anyway, I think most people on this board will make any excuse for Henson's play, good or bad. There are others who want to bash him. I've done my fair share, but this Henson talk is really getting to be prehistoric.

Let me ask the Henson fan club this. If he does come back and competes in TC and Romo is still the 2nd QB, what will the excuse be? He's tired because of all the traveling while in Germany? He's still recovering from his knee injury? Jet lag? Or will the Hensonites admit that Romo is the better QB?

Just a question since everyone likes to look to the future.

The 'Hensonite' will never admit that Romo is the better QB, nor will they even give Drew Bledsoe his due respect. You have to understand how their minds work in order to get a firm grasp on their biased ideology: They don't care about Bledsoe as he's nothing more than a 'stopgap' despite the fact he's one of the best QB's to ever play in this league, at least from a statistical standpoint. They believe that Henson is Troy Aikman or Roger Staubach reincarnated. They believe that just because Houston robbed us for a 3rd rounder for him that he is something special. They believe that Henson is a superstar being held back by Bill Parcells because he don't like him. They believe that Henson will be the starting QB for this team as early as next season. They believe that play in the NFLE, whether good or bad, matters. They refuse to concede to his failures in the MLB, which was his true love to begin with. For some reason they don't understand that professional football was 'Plan B'. The sun rises and sets with Henson as their leader rings the dinner bell and the sheep come running for their next meal.

The Answer has come to find that arguing with the Hensonite is pointless, they are too close minded and believe for some reason that a 3rd round bust is going to blossom like the ugly duckling. The Hensonite is a creature of habit, and they will hold on to their fantasy until the bitter end. Even in a few years when Henson fails at bagging groceries at the local supermarket they will still believe he has potential...paper or plastic sir?

I too look forward to the excuses this summer when Henson struggles yet again against 3rd string competition in the preseason and makes this roster by default as the 3rd QB. The Henson excuse generator is revved up and ready to go!

Are you saying that you didn't watch any of his games?

If that's the case then you really don't know what you're talking about.

If we were to bring in a vet it would be Romo that would go and not Henson.

Why?

Romo costs more, Henson's base is cheaper. Keep edge: Henson

Romo is a FA next year, Henson...unless he plays a few games this season to void the end of his contract...has 3 more years. Romo has also said he WANTS TO TEST THE FA MARKET if he's not in the running to start in Dallas. Keep edge: Henson

Henson beat him out year one, Romo did last year when they messed with Henson's motion. That first year Henson got time at #2 based on sheer talent, now with playing time all the other pieces are falling into place with that talent. Keep edge: Henson

So bring in that vet, you all won't like the results.;)
