Henson-Its time to go

From the same article written by Eatman.....

"Chances are, even a first-round pick would not have beaten out Bledsoe for the starting job. And a quarterback drafted in the second round would have had difficulty overtaking Romo and Henson for the backup spot. And remember, the Cowboys aren't ready to give up on either of those two just yet."

There's not many STARTING QB's currently in the league that could beat out Bledsoe, let alone 1st round draft picks.

Romo, Henson, Mroz....they are all merely participants in Mr. Bledsoe's show for now. Sit back, relax, grab some refreshments on the bench and watch the fireworks this fall!

A mass exodus of two? The bus leaving is going to be a short one. Can you imagine those threads?

Day 1...

Guy 1: Why does Henson still have a roster spot? He's a waste.

Guy 2: I don't know bro.

Day 2...

Guy 1: Why does Henson still have a roster spot? He's a waste.

Guy 2: repost

:lmao:

I think if Dallas intended to get rid of Henson and or Romo this year Dallas would have drafted a QB. Mroz as an UDFA was not added to this team to replace either Romo or Henson. I do think this is a critical training camp for Henson but I also think it is critical for Romo as well who is at the end of his contract at the end of the season.

I think its more critical for Romo actually, as you pointed out, either he stays in Dallas after this season or gone after this season. Most likely he is gone even if he wins the no. 2 job after this season, unless Cowboys offer him some kind of starter job competition chance and market money, if he gets offers from other teams that is.

I dont think Romo is going to stay here, unless he thinks there is a legitimate chance to compete for starting next year, unless he doesn't get that chance elsewhere either.

I agree. No matter what everyone thinks, all signs point to the both of them being here, and Mroz being a practice squad QB.

Had we drafted Clemens or Whitehurst like was rumored before the draft, then there would be a point. But apparently we weren't motivated to do so, despite how terrible Henson has or hasn't looked in Europe. It's not a confirmation that he is anything other than what he is. We just didn't take the shot for whatever reason.

Look at Romo's contract for answers.

A single player does not beat another team. A team beats another team. EVERY QB is only as good as the team around him.

Vince Youngs, Back to back rose bowl games might squash this theory.

Exactly, which is scheduled to end after this year, unless one is offered up before end of season for extension. My bet is he doesnt sign, after listening to his interview on radio, he sure seems like, he doesn't think he will be here after this year or at least the chances of him staying here doesn't seem to be high. Not because he might not be wanted but because he wont get a starting chance soon enough, I guess unless BP/Bledsoe leave next year.

I agree. I have also heard recent statements by Jerry that we may look to next years draft at QB which is why I think this training camp will be very critical for both Romo and Henson.

Prediction: He and his moxie got elsewhere and become the latest Jake Delhomme.

Fans rue the day.

What these guys did in college have no bearing of what will happen in the NFL. I'm a big Horns fans and loved watching Young but I think he is far from being a sure thing. In the NFL he will not be in the shotgun 90% of the time as he was at UT and I doubt Tenn will be running the same option style offense. I hope the best for Young because I really do think he is a great guy but he has a lot of work in front of him and just like it is with Henson it is not going to happen overnight.

I hear yah man. Im just saying it squashes the theory that a QB cant win games by himself. After all we are talking about Henson in the NFLE and he couldnt do it by himself at times.

I give Young a lot of credit but Texas has a pretty good offensive line and playmakers around Young on that Longhorns team. As for Henson he will be entering his 3rd season in Dallas and I doubt they are going to give up on him there is no reason to give up just yet. I'll aslo add no QB in the NFL wins games by themselfs and when you get down to it Young at Texas did not do it by himself. I don't recall Young slamming Lendale White on 4th and short to get the ball back, whithout that play Texas never gets the last drive for the win.

Yeah, Vince Young was playing with scrubs like David Thomas and Micheal Huff, so he had do it all by himself

Lol... I mean he had a great team around him at both rose bowls but he was doing it all pretty much by himself against michigan and usc.

there weren't 10 other guys lined up with Young? Also wasnt there a top D on the other side of the ball as well?

No USC defense was not a top ranked defense in the NCAA.
