lol. What would Smith think about that.Me too; in my opinion, Alex Smith would be the perfect backup QB for us and what we do.

Thats Tony's biggest problem.i don't think they can even do that unless DAL OKs it
No one can talk about him yet.......that would be tampering .......DAL has to announce they are taking offers
No one can talk to him yet but teams can say whether they might be interested in him if he becomes available.
Just saying people have said his market is non-existent but it hasn't even started yetTechnically, you are correct, but there is so much backroom dealing. Romo's agent probably represents other players from other teams, so there is natural interaction between GM's and agent. Romo's agent has probably contacted the GM's of desirable teams to gauge interest.

DAL should give the OK and try to develop a mini bidding war
DAL should only move before June 1st if they are blown away
The Broncos would be fools not to at least inquire about a Romo trade. The Broncos seem happy with their two young QB
I would be hoping we get a RDE, DT, and CB in no order with our 1st and 2 2nds at that point. We could really upgrade the team and defense with an extra second round pick this year, supposing we don't blow them on druggies or injuries like we usually do with our second round picks.
I have a feeling our extra second would almost assuredly be used to take jake butt. He's a TE AND has a major knee injury. Total lock for us.

Their defense is championship level and they have good weapons on offense. That team is screaming for Romo's services whether they admit it or not. They would be instant challengers to New England.
This is what i have been saying. They have their star defense and offensive players locked up for at least 2 more years before any of them become a free agent. If they take on Romos current contract they could easily cut him with not much dead cap at that point. The Broncos would be fools not to at least inquire about a Romo trade.

He is either going to pass or not pass a physical. This will work itself out.Romo has too many injury concerns
NFL contracts are completely different animals than NBA and MLB contracts. The team that acquires his contract, only inherits the base salary an it is not guaranteed. They can convert some of it a bonus, with no cap ramifications, and easily reduce that cap number.big contract for Denver to trade for him
Romo is actually an ideal bridge for Lynch. Siemian (age 25) is always going to be a threat to Lynch (age 22).with the investment they made in Lynch.
Good negotiators will downplay their interest. No one can talk about him yet.......that would be tampering .......DAL has to announce they are taking offers
Ask for one of them in return if Romo is traded to Denver. Siemian would be a good backup to Dak.He is either going to pass or not pass a physical. This will work itself out.

Denver's defense declined some from last season and they had 10 fewer sacks. They have 2 young QBs they won 9 games with in 2016 and both have solid potential. Romo would be nothing more than a one year stopgap and a progress stopper for both young QBs. Lynch needs to start playing, Denver invested a #1 and two other picks in him last April. Romo has too many injury concerns and a big contract for Denver to trade for him with the investment they made in Lynch.
I disagree. The monetary investment in Lynch is not much thanks to the rookie cap, so there's nothing preventing the team from adding Romo from that standpoint. I also don't believe the Broncos would be looking at him as a stopgap, but rather a guy who can bring them a couple of championships before he retires. That's worthy of the investment,
