Here's to you, Drew Henson.

While it will be interesting to see what Henson does tonight, it won't mean that much really. After all, it is only the first preseason game of the year. If he plays great - does that mean he will play great all year? Nope. If he plays like crap - does that mean he will play like crap all year? Nope. He is in a no win situation. However he plays, the perception is that is how he will play all year. So I will be hoping for the best tonight but will also remember it is what it is - just a preseason game.

Ah ... but to me this is much more than a preseason game ... we've made a lot of changes as far as personnel and schemes ... I can't wait to see how that looks on the field and how it may show what the potential impact these changes have/will, make/made ...

This is much more than our average preseason games. There is a lot more going on than usual. And Drew Henson is only one of the many things I'll be rooting for at 9:00 pm CST. (or around 10:30 CST)

Haiku for TwoDeep ...

Should the Bledsoe go down ...
And Henson get the call ...
TwoDeep will get in a three-points stance, frothing at his tail ...

Ben, haiku takes a 5-7-5 'beat', as TwoDeep demonstrated.

You must rework your poetry. ;)

But what a great idea.

Haiku for Canty..could be big!

Actually, I used to know a high school QB named Eddie Poe, but he didn't look anything like that.

I'm glad Hostile is at the game tonight..he wouldn't take lightly to poking fun at dead poets.

But maybe he'll tweak some E B Browning verses to the 3-4 when he returns.

How do I sack thee

Let me count the ways

On a serious note...

If you were a poet and didn't know it...

Would you look like a poet?

No!

If he were a poet and didn't know it,
his feet would show it
because their Longfellows...

I think I'll log off on that note. But see you guys soon. Take care everybody.

Go Cowboys!

I'll place my final evaluation of Henson midway through next season. Too many people are obsessed with having a "stud" backup QB. Name me a "highly regarded "backup QB who showed anything of consquence. Hostetler, Warner, and Brady weren't considered much of anything.

Great post but I do take exception with any professional or collegiate athlete that is said to be handed everything with a silver spoon.

Guys that are born and have the genes to become 6' 5 " or 6' 4" typically will get every advantage through their childhood to succeed in sports.

HOWEVER, to say he has been given a silver spoon is not right. Sports is not like politics where George W. Bush is the perfect example of the silver spoon analogy fitting to a tee. Even he to a degree still had to earn a tremendous amount otherwise one of the other brother would have been President.

In sports, you eventually have to prove it on the field.

Drew Henson did not set all kinds of High School records for the state of Michigan in football and baseball by having it handed to him regardless of his physical talent.

Also, At U of Michigan, you don't split time with Tom freakin Brady whose a few years older and the veteran and split time with him, be the starter for one season and win a bowl game because it is handed to you.

Look around, there is plenty of guys nowadays that has the same size as Drew Henson and can't get close to playing on a professional field.
Well said Duke.Well said.

I think I'm would be more concerned about Bledsoe than the 2cond or 3rd string QB, I know we need a good backup but between Romo and Henson I think someone will rise to the top.But I'm anxious to se this Bledsoe kid.

I've have a different outlook altogether ... I'm not sold on Drew Blesoe anymore. All that has been being said about him is true. He holds on to the ball to long and will take a lot of sacks. I do give him that he holds on to the ball better than Vinny, but he still looked A LOT like Vinny.

It's not such a stupid question to me anymore ... can one of these young guys do it? And would that be a smart move?

I know I saw some mobility in Romo moving around in the pocket and he made some good throws ... and a not so good one. But he just looked like a better QB in the 10 plays that he threw the ball ...

Bledsoe and Henson didn't really separate from each other. They both played about the same. Henson didn't look to make his reads very well and Bledsoe held on to the ball too long to make his ... but in their defense, the line played better for Romo than it did for Henson and Bledsoe ...

We're going to have to move Larry Allen to right tackle - I can almost gaurantee that ...
