The QB gets his share of criticism as he touches the ball, and has more influence on the game, than any other player. Therefore he gets remunerated for this, HOWEVER, as a trade-off he should also accept the greater share of criticism when HIS failings contribute to any defeat.

We appear to be in a scenario where we're having to pay top money, but acknowledge we need to off-set and protect against Dak's weaknesses, when playing catch-up football (RATHER THAN THE ONUS/RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT COMING FROM .....HIM).

.....and im not a Dak Hater, but he's got to realize that if he's succeeding in Dallas he cant have another (EVERYTHING) contract as he did last time. This may involve a longer contract (even contract for life) and certainly means no NTC.
Because Dak is going to be a free agent his value is going to be determined by the ownership group of another NFL franchise. Jerry Jones seems content to stand aside and allow that to happen. If Jerry wants to keep Dak Prescott he’ll simply have to offer a deal Dak likes more than any other. For all the criticism of Dak and quarterback compensation in the NFL, Dak gets an amount an ownership group tells him he gets. Jerry knows that, Dak and his agent know it, only fans don’t seem to understand how it works.

That's not an excuse. We've been told that good quarterbacks are supposed to elevate the talent around them. From what I've heard and seen, Herbert is on of the most talented quarterbacks in the league.

He hasn't lived up to his talent so, no excuses for him.
You're talking to a guy who's seen almost every Chargers game for the last 15 years.
If Dak had the total lack of protection Herbert has operated with, he be flipping burgers long before now.

I wish I had a time machine, just so I could jump ahead to whenever Jerry Jones will supposedly not do according to what some folks say in the present. Heck. I would be using it a lot according to what I say, lol.

Nah, we get it. If Dak's no.1 objective is money, then yep, Jerry will have to pony up or move on.
Indeed, if Dak's not willing to compromise (on anything), time to move on Jerry ...save $29m of wasted salary money and clear Dak's CAP.
As for the criticism, come on, he banks the money and when he doesn't produce (maybe when chasing a deficit), he deserves some kickback.
You seem to want Dak to have everything....without the responsibility.

Where Dak are you slotting Dak..........

Can you please break it down to me or someone else break it down to me, what's the ACTUAL per year? We know that the guaranteed money is the real factor. So I think goff got 170 for 4 years, that averages out really to 40+ million

That's a tough one to research, do you already have the answer?

Here's another tough one to research, (shoutout to @MountaineerCowboy for finding this one) how many 4th round or later QBs age 30+, have ever gone to their first super bowl with their original team?

None. Zero. Zip.

Signing this guy to an extension is literally the definition of chasing your losses.
Yes sir.

Your odds are astronomically better at finding a Mahomes talent in the draft than Dak ever winning a Super Bowl with the Cowboys.

That cannot be refuted or debated. It's simply a fact.

It's a fact because Mahomes talent exists while nobody has ever won a Super Bowl with Daks baggage.

In the last 4 years, Dak has put up numbers that 32 out of 32 GMs would extend.

Even his outlier 2022 year, his numbers would be about his usual were it not for Kellen Moore trying to act like the top offensive mind in the NFL trying to reinvent his playbook causing Dak to throw 15 INTs.

No reason to think Dak is just gonna stop his roll. Hes probably getting extended and the Cowboys are just taking their time slowly knowing they have upwards of a year left.
Kellen Moore made Dak throw 15 ints.

Every single GM with a single brain cell would take all 5 of those QBs at that salary over Dak at 60 million
You are 100% correct .......today
Dak knows he can't get $60M w/o an NFCCG and/or Super Bowl. It's why he decided to bet on himself....again

“Bet on himself”?
More like bet on the fact that several NFL teams will pay top money to give their fans false hope if Jerry wont
He knows he is not winning a SB

If Nick Foles won anything is possible.

Would be an absolute miracle for this team to do anything of substance this year. I’m all for trading him now for a boat load of picks and start Lance. We start Lance maybe we are 2-3 games worse in W-L column but maybe we take the next step. Let’s roll the dice now, nothing to lose at all.

They are currently a cofavorite for the division. So, it wouldn't be a miracle for them to win the division. If they win the division that would put them in the mix for the NFC.

Hurts doesn’t belong in that group. I think probably the top 15 QBs would all thrive with the OL and talent on that Philly offense.
