First off, I think Dallas got some questionable calls that went their way during the game, so even if this is one they missed, Dallas still got some yardage back... although I admit it would have been nice to see the INT returned to the 1 yard line brought back.

Secondly, I have seen a lot less violent hit than that draw a flag, including in the Pitt/Baltimore game last night. I wouldn't have been surprised to see them throw a flag on the Dez hit, but I wasn't surprised when they didn't either. To me, I just say "it's football" and not spend very much time worrying about the "what didn't happen" and focused more on the "what did".

In the end, I think there is a pretty good chance that the responsible refs eyes were probably drawn to the action in front of the hit (ie the interception and return), and he simply didn't see the violence of the hit until after the fact... probably on the jerrytron well after they had already shown the INT return several times. At that point, it would have been difficult to go ahead and throw the flag, particularly on a judgement call that was borderline anyway. Those kind of hits happen often when the ball doesn't make it to the intended target... they just usually aren't so violent and the WR isn't typically in so vulnerable a position.

Would it be tacky to add Boyz N the Hood and Platoon scenes?

I've seen the Boyz N the Hood one, but don't think it's appropriate for CZ. I imagine the Platoon one isn't either. That said, one of the beat reporters said that Dez liked the Boyz N the Hood one best. lol

So it has already been done? That is too funny…in a politically correct way, of course.

your criteria works but those arent the only reasons a flag can be thrown for that type of hit.

So name some others. What about that hit warranted a flag, other than it being a Dallas Cowboy who took it?

doesnt matter if you launch, hit the head, face area, as long as the wide out is in a vulnerable position with the ball not in the receivers hands any hit that takes advantage of this is a penalty.

the hit on dez should have been a penalty, period.,

That hit on Dez was the complete definition of defenseless player. That said the refs in that game were terrible and a lot of the calls seemed to benefit Dallas so I guess it all evens out.

No, it does matter because that's what the rule says.

Think about what you're saying. No WR can be hit in any fashion if he's left the ground. How ridiculous does that sound?

Brush up on the rules a bit.

He was defenseless but it's legal to hit defenseless players.

A QB in the act if throwing is defenseless. How many get tattood as their starting to throw the ball.

The hit on a defenseless player only becomes a penalty of certain forms of contact are made.

The NFL's Definition
Rule 12 - Player Conduct / Section 2 - Personal Fouls / Article 9 - Unnecessary Roughness

Penalty: For unnecessary roughness: Loss of 15 yards.
The player may be disqualified if the action is judged by the official(s) to be flagrant.
Note: If in doubt about a roughness call or potentially dangerous tactics, the covering official(s) should always call unnecessary roughness.

Article 9
It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.
(a) Players in a defenseless posture are:

(1) A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass;

(2) A receiver attempting to catch a pass; or who has completed a catch and has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner. If the receiver/runner is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player;
(3) A runner already in the grasp of a tackler and whose forward progress has been stopped;
(4) A kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air;
(5) A player on the ground at the end of a play;
(6) A kicker/punter during the kick or during the return;
(7) A quarterback at any time after a change of possession, and
(8) A player who receives a "blindside" block when the blocker is moving toward his own endline and approaches the opponent from behind or from the side.

(b) Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:

(1) Forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, face mask, forearm, or shoulder, regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenseless player by encircling or grasping him; and
(2) Lowering the head and making forcible contact with the top/crown or forehead/"hairline" parts of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player’s body.

Note: The provisions of (2) do not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or helmet in the course of a conventional tackle on an opponent.

In summation, unless Dez is literally a "butt-head" the play was clean?
