I don't remember him being fined the 4 game checks but I'll take your word for it.

It doesn't matter though. It doesn't change the fact that he was going to be released no matter what. Had he been clean as a whistle he was still out of the long term plans.

Remember, for Bill it's 3 years in the league to show him something or you are gone. His 3 years were up. All Bill had to see for himself in 6 days of camp was that Vinny could do what he wanted. Trigger pulled.

Does that mean he liked doing it? Of course not. It doesn't change the fact that Parcells said he didn't know anything about a failed test. It doesn't change the fact that the CBA prohibits Jerry from telling him about the failed test. He made a football decision to move forward and because some people liked the player they have to rationalize why he was released.

Why has every other player that this team released been about performance and this player it was a conspiracy to undermine him? Can someone please answer that question for me?

Come on, stop believing in the faery tale.

I agree with every thing you said. It was how I felt as soon as Dallas showed interest in Vinny and I didn't have your connections.

Quincy's 4 game checks were for that 2004 season. He paid that while with the Jets.

Even though Quincy wasn't very good, it sort of disturbs me to see the vitriol being spewed against him as time goes on on various cowboys message boards. I've seen people wish death upon him, never getting another shot at the NFL, remarks about him going back to Atlanta or whever and ending up selling crack on the street, and all sorts of stuff. And someone always mentions how he never had a shred of talent, which also isnt true. The guy is REALLY talented. At least physically, anyways. Pretty strong arm, pretty good set of wheels. Unfortunately, he makes too many mistakes with the ball. I dont know if I would want the guy starting a whole season for me, but I certainly wouldnt mind him as backup getting the occassional spot-start. I hope he gets another shot in the NFL, I just hope it ISNT with us.

You mean like:

Injuries at CB, including Newman
Loss of Woody (I can't even remember who played safety in his stead)
Marcellus Wiley
Whoever the 1 technique DT was
Eddie George/Injured Jones
Torrin Tucker
Injured Terry Glenn
Injured Dan Campbell
Injured Richie Anderson

To name a few....

God that was an awful year.

I think you underestimate just how good Q Carter was. He was extremely mobile and he had a big time arm.

If you have any of the 2003 games on dvd/tape, check them out.

Vinni was a disaster at QB.

I don't wish death on anyone but I don't feel sorry for idiots either. Carter made his choice and he choose getting high over playing football for big money. He did this to himself, no one did it too him.

Dude, Quincy sucked!!! He lacked the ability to command a game and didn't have the pose to do it, he couldn't read the defense quick enough, and I don't think he was smart enough to do it either!

Yes, I agree Vinny sucked too. Apparently he helped the hell out of Romo, so if Romo becomes a franchise QB for us. Vinny was worth it.

I think you overestimate his impact on the team, he along with the offense were very poor and his constant mistakes hurt the team. No doubt he also made some big plays and would have a decent game but sports is about some level of consistency and Carter never once showed that.

I do, and your out of your freaking mind. I'm also a UGA guy, and other than his freshman year he wasnt very good here either. he got progressively worse as time wore on. Some was probably because of all his drug problems, alot of it is he just wasnt very talented.

QC was not very good, period.

He had a very erratic arm in terms of accuracy. He was prone to stupid throws at bad times.

He did not have a "big time arm", he has a very average arm. Always has.

Vinny was no more a disaster in 2004 than Q-Bong was in 2003, they had virtually identical numbers, only Q-Bong benefitted some from playing on a better team vs a much easier schedule

Too bad he also threw interceptions.

The only way Carter was better than Vinny was that Carter seemed to play better as the pressure mounted when the boys were behind. Vinny, well, when it rains, it pours.

Uh, what?

In terms of arm strength, it was pretty good. In terms of accuracy, though, that's another matter.

10-6 and a playoff game?

Without a decent rb? [Hambone and Murrell?]

QC carried that team.

He carried the team? By throwing a boat load of ints? Defense got Dallas to the playoffs that year offense and Carter did very little to help thing

Good to hear he is not bipolar just mentally weak. Yeah that is what I want from my QB a mental weakling

Don Meridith once announced on air that he was "high" before a game in Denver. He was also reported to be an alcoholic and have mental problems.

Dallas Cowboys at NY Giants

QC 25-40 321 yds 63 % comp.

Cowboys win in OT

The defense gave up 18 4th qtr points and QC pulls the game out in the final 10 seconds.

1 game and Carter would have 5 bad ones for every good or decent outing that is not leading the team to the playoffs.

So, in your opinion, why was he released by the Cowboys, Jets, and the CFL team he signed with?

Why is he currently unemployed?

QC pulls out that game:laugh1:

You conveniently forget that the Giants were up by three with what 10 seconds left... they kicked off out of bounds, QC threw one deep out, and Billy Cundiff kicked the FG to get us into OT where he kicked another.

In fact Cundiff kicked 5 FGs. If anyone was MVP of that game, it was split between the Giants kicker and Cundiff. Sorry Hos ;)

Look at Vinny's numbers vs Q. And remember that we were trailing a lot in 2004 and that always hurts. In 2003 we had a weak schedule and a good D. SOmething we did not have in 2004. Frankly, over all, Vinny could have been seen to do a better job then Q did. Had we been able to beat NO and the Giants, we would have made the playoffs and both games were very close.

You mean that terrible horrible worst QB ever Vincenzo Testeverde was not leading us to those two outputs?
