At first i was shocked then i started shaking but realized it was the adtenaline from the anger. I wanted to punch something so hard that it would release all of the anger bottled inside, but then i remembered that my therapist said to release constructively so i went to the gym. Man i was brutal. My bench max went up 30lbs. So thank you zeke! You helped me push through a plateau.

Fine with Zeke.

Not happy that we left the Baltimore trade on the table that Scheffer reported.

Dallas had clearly settled on Elliot. You don't trade down and risk losing that player if there's any doubt based on whatever info they were getting at the time.

He is 27 as well, when someone who gets past 25 as a RB has a bad year, it usually means age is showing. Anyway, Zeke at 20 vs Morris at 27. Mmm which is better.

I don't know. I haven't seen Zeke play a down in the NFL yet.

I'm with everyone else that Zeke should be an upgrade and should be the better player.

But I wouldn't be shocked if Zeke turned out to not be good at the NFL level.

Just want ask those who wanted another player other than Elliott to just explain how they feel right now.

Not trying to enflame anyone.

I just think we all need to come together in a tense moment like this.

I post this because I care.

We need to come together for a group hug.

My position has always been this.

When was Jason Witten drafted? Don't care.

When was Tony Romo drafted? Don't care.

When was Tyron Smith drafted? Don't care.

If players are great, you don't care how you got them. You're just glad you got them.

You won't care about when Elliott was drafted unless he busts. He'll be your guy on your team otherwise.

Yeah why wouldn't we do that?

Who do we take after Baltimore takes Ramsey if Jacksonville (or someone else) take Zeke?

Zeke would have been on the board because other teams don't draft rb at 4 unless ur dallas or the raiders

There was no player available who will effect games like Zeke could.

I also think the fact they wanted him clearly shows they were thinking clearly about where DMac and Morris projected for them.

Neither can carry the team if needed..

and together they are possibly equal to what Zeke brings in a single package.

I wonder what the thoughts will be about running 2 back sets?

That might really shake a few teams up.

same can be said about any draft choice, hell Ramsey had 3 INTs in three years so while that means he would have fit in perfectly in our secondary, no guarantee he ends up better than Claiborne or Carr.

What's it going to be then, eh?

You posted this because you care? OK bro.

As for how I feel. I hope and think Zeke will be great for 6 to 7 years barring injury.

I think we wasted an opportunity to get a 2 or 3 contract player who is worth it.

It's a terrible missalocation of resources.

So you are saying Ramsey would have been a 2 or 3 contract player without question?

I am disappointed by the pick for philosophical reasons. We've been touting the fact that our OL allows us to have success with a mid-level RB. The general trend (a successful one) in the NFL is de-valuing the RB position. Up until a little while ago, Elliot was the best RB in the draft, but not a "generational" typeback -- especially when compared to next years class. We had opportunities to move back to 6 (apparently) and gain an additional high pick and still get a player like Buckner, of even Zeke is that scenario is to be believed.

I'm more against the idea of drafting any RB at 4 than I am against Elliot specifically though. I feel like we wasted an opportunity with a pick so high. I don't see the difference between a back like Morris gaining 1,200 yards and Elliot gaining 1,400 and don't feel that the number 4 pick in the draft going to a RB who would be incrementally better is a wise move. I will pull for him and will eventually get used to it.

That being said, having many Dlineman fall to 34 is is very intriguing and Spence/Dodd would make me feel better. If we pick a QB in the 2nd, I will be steamed.

I understand where you are coming from. I see it differently and it has nothing to do with Zeke. If they want to build a smash mouth, physical offense , then a top RB helps them to complete the building process . DMac's stats looked good on paper, but he had no impact in games. None, zilch , nada. An impact RB is only insuring that they get the most out of the investment in the oline and Romo.

Dallas has the only team that is built for smash mouth football. They are using the 90's teams as a model and in their case a RB has more value to the offense than it would have to a team that wants to run a fast paced , passing offense. Stats and comparisons are useless if you are not comparing apples to apples.

And he would have been on the board at the Baltimore pick. Ravens take ramsey. We get a 3rd. Jags have yeldon. We use the 3rd to get Lynch. Or get some frigging defense help.

Disagree. I've never seen anyone win one while scoring less than their opponent.
See #2.

tr.v.out·scored, out·scor·ing, out·scores
1.
To surpass (an opponent) in the number of points scored, as in a game.
2. To defeat (an opponent) by focusing on offense.

Although I disagree and feel Elliott could be generational in Dallas meaning Dorsett, Smith, Elliott, I respect your opinion and reasons for it. I'm with you on Spence. He got his degree (3.6 GPA), he has sent his last 20 drug tests to all teams and he seems pretty self aware and mature. I know we're in no position to take chances on questionable played but there are degrees and i feel he a this moment is a much safer pick than Gregory was last year.

Well, we can sure hope he's a generational type back. The worry I have is that if you go back 2 months, Elliot was the best in this draft, but was thought of as just "very good" rather than generational.the hype was all about 2017 and the backs next year. Elliot's was just the best of a pretty good bunch.

This happens all the time and not just with running backs. It happened with QB this year and to an even greater degree. It just that I remember the hype of other guys in year's past that felt fabricated after the games were done, and this felt close to the same. I remember the oohs and ahhs of guys like Reggie Bush Cedric Benson, and Ronnie Brown and how "special" or "once in a generation" they were and I'm wary of it now.

Hoping he really is special though. I'd love to be wrong and screaming at the top of my lungs as he tears off a 70 yard TD run.

I will say this. I feel better with zeke and we still have 2 and 3 picks. I would be irate if we were here with zeke and lynch and no picks today with this dline talent on the board.
