Honestly, defense alone should win this game

All of y'all are worrying for NO reason about the Dez playing, not playing story. First, the defense should be the best we've had in a very, very, very long time and beat the midgets pretty much by themselves. We should win like Seattle has beat teams the last few years, Defense, defense, defense!!! If we can't beat this sorry Giants team without Dez, we are pretty bad anyways!! Did y'all watch the Giants-Eagles game last week? They are horrible. We've had two weeks off, and they are on a short week. Their OL is beat up, OBJ is limping, and Eli, well, he's Eli. This is where Red either proves he's a coach, or he proves he'll never be one. Butttttt, my big gut feeling tells me we win this one with a good old-fashioned defensive beat down. The Kraken should have a huge day. Lee and RoMac should eat up their run game, and The DB's should get a couple pics from Eli. And finally, the best news of all. The worst QB in the NFL is out, and we should have a better all around offensive showing. This week we tell the rest of the NFL that in a few weeks, the Cowboys will be right smack dab in the middle of the playoff picture!!!

The offence will still have to put up points, it'll just be hard without Dez. I hope the dline smashes Eli and the running backs, but I just think he'll do nothing but quick passes. If our lbs and safetys tackle properly, then yeah, we'll be in good shape

Still need to score points... Does Randle strike fear in the Giants? Probably not. Well the coaching staff give C-Mike more then 3-5 carries probably not. Will Twill drop passes? Probably so you need Cassell and Witten and Bease to carry this team and let's be realistic they will be doubling both Witten and Bease. I don't think we can score enough points to win but we shall see. If we lose it won't be because of the defense. It will be because we couldn't convert 3rd downs and score points.

If the offense can score 20-21 pts we will win. There's not a lot of 7-0, 10-7,14-3 type victories anymore. Not saying we can't have that type of outcome, but the trend is for higher scoring.

yes, this

Pass rush will be there, but our cornerbacks and safeties have to make plays. And overall, we have to tackle. So many missed tackles last game. Also, we have to get some turnovers. Eli will find a way to move the ball. We have to hit him, get turnovers, and tackle. Offensively, I really don't know what to expect. Hopefully having Brice Butler back will free up TWill and Beasley somewhat. Doubt it though.

You don't know what to expect from Cassels first start and games with the Giants are always toight like a tiger. Giants might be PO'ed after being shown up last week. Defense will need help.

The defense should get more assistance in the scoring department by a Cassel-led offense that should produce more points than they did with Weeden at the helm. Whether or not it'll be enough to overcome a determined Giants team remains questionable. If we can come close to equaling Philadelphia's QB pressure last Sunday, this contest should be highly winnable. Much depends upon sustaining constant pressure on Eli and on offense, for the running game to help keep the chains moving for Dallas. Cassel should be able to find success within the short and intermediate passing game, whereas Weeden was totally reliant upon the short stuff during his stint.

Agree we should take home a W, but also realist in that these games always have some unforeseen bounces resulting in points. Usually for the Giants. Hope that trend ends this Sunday

Defense has been a problem all season. Fans don't like to admit it, but it has. It's also got the potential to be good. Hopefully, that's what we'll see this week as the offense will still be very limited.

Offense put up points on Falcons and Saints, before Weeden went into a shell against NE. I think they can put up points on NY then.
Defense faltered in 2nd half of last 3 games. If the offense maintain some drives so D won't get gassed, then the D will need to really help win this game by putting pressure on Eli, as we been saying that all week.

If Dallas loses this game on the road. Against a division rival playing just as desperate as Dallas is. Missing two of their best players. Maybe their two best players period. It won't mean Garrett isn't or never will never be a good coach. I sure Jerry and Stephen won't think that way. Most non partisan observers are picking the Giants to win the game. Based on most of the points I mentioned above.

This is a game Dallas is capable of winning. The defense,on paper, could be dominant. But the Gaints also know how to play the game. They could easily go to their short, quick passing game. Which could nullify any Dallas advantage over their weak o-line. And expose weaknesses in the Cowboy secondary. Carr especially.
And if this offense lead by Cassell isn't much better than what we saw under Weeden. NY could easily score enough to win. Williams, Beasley and either Street or Butler have to be a factor. Which can hopefully open up the running attack. It'd be nice if Escobar could be put to some good use as well.

The Giants looked bad last week and all of a sudden they're a sorry team? Prior to last week most here were saying the Giants were the team to beat. Some of you continue to live in the moment. Granted they didn't look good vs Philly but it's not like the Cowboys are coming off an impressive outing themselves in their last game. The Cowboys pass rush showed a lot of improvement with Hardy/McClain and it should get even better with Gregory but you have to remember it took a dramatic come from behind win in the opener WITH ROMO for the entire game and Dez for most of the game for the Cowboys to beat the Giants at home. The Giants gave that game away and they'll be looking for some revenge and to bounce back after last weeks poor performance. Although the Cowboys are coming off a bye it's been pretty much 50-50 with them coming off bye weeks. Long weeks and bye weeks don't always do the team a lot of good.

Tomorrow they'll be playing with a journeyman QB who's only been with the team 5 weeks so not even the Cowboys know what to expect. Starting Cassel is a desperation move to try and salvage the season. It's up in the air what we'll get with him he's a risk taker and may suffer some turnovers but the offense is going to have to take some chances to try and make some plays. If the running game continues to be inconsistent it could lead to a rough day for Cassel. I can assure you the defense alone will not win this game because if the defense continues to be left on the field too long they'll continue wearing down in the second half. The offense is going to have to do it's part and score some points if the Cowboys are going to win.

Three step drop and get rid of the ball quickly will neutralize the rush. Will be up to the secondary to corral their play makers quickly when they get the ball in their hands.

The issue to me is that for the defense to dominate, the offense can't turn the ball over; however, into order to win the offense can't be as conservative as it was with Weed. They have to find that balance on offense where they can avoid repeatedly going 3 and out which wears down the defense but while not taking too many chances and turning the ball over.

It's hard to imagine the defense not having a good game considering that they seem to have all hands on deck now.

That still helps the defense because they only have to cover for 2 seconds; although, they need to come up with a way to combat the pick plays.
