Hmmm... I am confused, which one is it? 'Bama or Buckeye?

Let's see...I'm an Ohio St fan that wanted Bama to win.

BTW, did anyone catch that classy move by Saban at the end when he pushed for a touchdown? Some people are just trash....

Watching Saban, you can't help but think he screams what's wrong with sports sometimes -- at least at the college level. Here they are, the national freaking champions, and he didn't even smile once did he? I know, I know. Toughness, ******! Just looks bad. It's ok to crack a smile every once and a while and act like something actually is satisfying.

ZERO

What's that?

ZERO-CLASS

It was a face-saving score, in my opinion. Saban wanted the win to appear more resounding than it actually was. He strikes me as a man who's very concerned about his reputation. Consequently, he was troubled by the prospect of a narrow win over a team playing a true freshman quarterback who hadn't taken so much as one substantive snap prior to the game.

It is what it is........Texas should have played better D. BTW, Stoops would have and has done the same thing, so why are you bashing Saban?

I am upset for Mack, cause for the most part, he doesnt do that kind of things to opponents. He generally calls off the dogs and keeps the score respectable. If he was more like Stoops, Carroll, Jimmy Johnson, or Saban....Texas would probably average about 60-65 a game, when not playing OU of course.

That's the thing that gets me...

I've always been the type that says to score as much as you can in the first half, then call off the dogs in the second half...

No need to score that last one... it was all him counterbalancing his idiot fake punt call in the first half...

It was ******y at best...

Now now - let us remember. Bob used to be one to call the dogs off but he flat out got tired of letting up only to see the other team turn it on and he lose.

He is peddle to the metal full out now.

I see your point, however. Im not one who enjoys hanging 60 on folks.

The Colt thing smells of weenieness. I'll admit that's a judgment based on nothing but the way it looks, and yes, the announcers did say Colt 'wanted back in.' Still, it smells bad...ya know what I mean? As sports fans, you crave to see those glimpses of greatness. Vince Young provided that five years ago. From a non-Texas fan's perspective, but a sports fan's eyes, Colt had a chance at immortality and he either passed on it or was told it wasn't worth it. We'll never know what could have been. Instead, when stacking his legacy against Vince's, one now remains a God and the other a meh. Just my two cents.

Oh, and Dallas .... Drew Allen. That's all I got to say. I think he'll be OU's guy next year, or hope at least. I think he could really do something there.

Colt said he had no pain....he just couldnt feel his arm. Did you not see him? His arm was completely limp, like a strand of wet spaghetti. When he got hit, he must have gotten some nerve damage, hopefully temporary. You throw a football when you can't feel your arm. Heck, have that happen to your leg and then try to walk.

I speak from experience. When I was 21, I worked at a warehouse. I was unloading a truck. The boxes were not heavy at all, but they were big and bulky. Well anyway, I went to take one down and another fell and the corner hit me on my shoulder, between my arm and neck......It wasn't a hard hit, but it hit just the right spot to injure me. I had to see a doctor and be put on light duty for a week. To this day, I still have issues with my shoulder. Some days I have to use my right arm just to help life my left arm above my head. Nerve damage was involved.

Sometimes you can get hit by a speeding car, bounce right up and walk away. Other times, a simple nudge can take you out for good.

Exactly and I didnt say JACK CRAP about crying because we lost Sam. That sucks and it sucks for Texas that Colt got hurt. But to turn this crap into an anti oklahoma anything, just rubbed me completely wrong.

I forget how much the hatred is for Oklahoma here.

We will never get along when it comes to that game and it's a shame. Good ribbing back and forth is one thing but tonight was Texas and Alabamas night, and I took offense.

Yep

In all fairness to my friend, Dallas, he was pulling for the Longhorns tonight based upon the Big XII thingy. For this (and this alone), I give him much respect.

Dallas = :bow:

Texas could have been up 20-17 had Gilbert not thrown that pick 6 before the half.

Alabama would have been around the UT 40 with it 4th and 7 with about 2-3 minutes left and 3 timeouts. I think they would have gone for it and then taken chances with their D.

Even at 24-21.....somebody should have helped Gilbert pick up that blitz. If he could have read it, Buckner was wide open and probably gets the first down.

Gilbert made a lot of mistakes tonight....I blame a lot of this on Mack and Davis......all season long when they had a chance to give him valuable snaps within the offense, they didnt. They would put him in and go conservative. They wouldnt run the same plays with him that they would for Colt. It came back to bite them. Gilbert played very well considering the circumstances. Alabama has one helluva D....however, the Texas OL did a great job tonight protecting Gilbert. Too bad our running game still sucks.

Never mentioned Coach Stoops... not once... it's my philosophy in general...

Kids don't need a country ***-whipping to prove a point...

I do appreciate coaches that know when they have won without doing so...

:D Im just sayin. I know folks hate Stoops and feel he runs it up way to much. It's just what he does now after learning from losses in the past when he let up.

I agree with you and am surprised w/ all the attention the NCAA puts on sportsmanship these days, the coaches aren't held to the same standard as the players are. Doing what Saban and the other coaches do is unsportsman like to the T.

Its wrong - no matter who it is.

I see it differently. I say you at least play the starters for the entire 1st half and the first series of the 2nd half, just to see if you made any quality half time adjustments. If the score is out of hand, you bring in the 2nd string, but allow them to continue to run the same gameplan. Give them the entire remainder of the 3rd quarter. If the game is even further out of hand, bring in the 3rd stringers, but allow them to continue with the same gameplan. Then in the final 3-4 minutes, bring in the 4th string and run the clock. If the opponent doesn't tackle, that is their problem. If your 4th string drives down the field running the ball and scores, well then maybe the opponent should play better D. However, if there is a chance to take a knee and kill the clock, I let my 4th string QB do so. No sense in risking injury in garbage time.

BTW, in the NFL, I say score as when you can, as often as you can. NO MERCY. You are getting paid good money to score points and win games.....so you do it.
