Hope we don't suffer the Texans fate

this is the game for the running game to take over and make our D irrevelant. If we keep the ball for 35+ minutes then we win.

Would have thought the running game would have taken over last week the way the Commanders got shredded by the Steelers on the ground. The running game has been a disappointment so far we need to get it going.

Yes. The running game is the clubs only real hope to survive the NFCE.They must get it going. The real problem is Coach Jones and Garrett have a propensity to throw. This hurts the club. Jerry knows that sizzle sells and thats what he's about.

I'd like to thank the Texans for not showing up last night. SMH.

It's amazing what a good coaching staff can accomplish.
Coaching actually matters?

That cant be, the Garrett fans have told me many, many times that its the players on the field that matter.

I am also confused on how a team can play without their starting QB and it not be an automatic L.......I didn't know this was possible unless you were playing the Skins at FedEx.

The PROUD, the FEW, the Garrett apologists!!!!!!!

:yourock::oldcouple::dance::popcorn:
They are as rare as this guy.................(White Rhino)

I didn't watch it. I only watch Cowboys games. But I wanted to weigh in on the post and share my thoughts.

Actually, I don't have any thoughts on the other teams.

So I guess that's it then.

There was nothing special about what the Patriots did. Their offense wasn't special last night, and their D stopped a pretty mediocre Texans offense. That was it.

Think Pats would have won going up against someone like Steelers and Panthers? I would say no. Stop with the Patriot worshiping. They have a great coach, we get this, he's a legend. But perspective, nothing they did last night was amazing.

I'm probably the most vocal Garrett fan here, and I can say for a fact that I've said many times that coaching and personnel both matter. And that Bill Belichick is, in my opinion, the best HC ever and a significantly better coach than Jason Garrett. What I've also said is that Jason Garrett is a good enough coach to win it all with, if he had the players. People react to the idea that 'players win football games' as if it's a revolutionary concept. The reality is that great coaches have been saying exactly that since...well, forever.

You'd be better off arguing that Garrett gets in the way of the team developing enough great players to win a championship, I would think, than taking the other side of the players-win-championships debate. But that's just me.

As for winning with a backup QB, check the TO differential. Check the two 25+ rushing TDs. Then check how frequently we got either out of our STs or running game all year last year and then we can have that talk about about players win games debate again.

You realize that we are playing with a QB that was 3rd string at the beginning of TC, right? But, by all means, carry on.

Lol...Yes I do and I'm glad Dak surprised, unless it was you predicting this from the start, then of course you weren't surprised. We went through 3 backups last year in our system right off of a 12-4 season. Our system/coaching didn't seem to work then, did it?

As I've stated before, here are my views on JG.

1. As a player, good backup that can hold the ship, but not starter material.
2. Offense coordinator- sucks
3. Offensive scheme - sucks
4. Game manager - sucks
5. Head coach and player motivator - good

I didn't add defense, not sure if he has any input on that as all.

If I were to make up the same list for the NE head coach, numbers 2-5 would be great and I would have to add another for defense, would would also be great, since he started out as a defensive coordinator.

I'm open to some fresh blood on defense . Marinelli may have ran his course as D.C. I'd consider retaining him as DL coach.
Agreed. It may be time for Marinelli to step aside or move along. The club also needs to invest some serious picks on the defense. The DC needs something real to work with also.

garrett will never win any thing here in dallas as a head coach he may go somewhere else and win because there front office is much better at drafting players and there gm"s job will be on the line tony will never win a superbowl here we simply don't the have players on defense or the total team for that matter they are just a average to below average team with lots of fams who spend lots of money to support them there Is lots of glitz and glitter but no much substance.

Can't see Rod as the HC coach..

not after having been coordinator and a former HC at the age of 73.

I could see him as HC for a year or two after Garrett leaves after this year.

Or Linehan depending on if DAK does well.

I'm sure many of us watched the Pats/Texans game last night.

It sure seemed to me the Texans were overly confident in that game..

playing a 3rd string QB seemed to have taken them out of the game.

I seems like they bought in to all the media hype about how much trouble the Pats were in.

Guess not.

Hope we don't commit the same mistake against the Bears.

Here's hoping.....
It is just that, like it or not, Belichick is primo. And he has the best staff in the NFL.
They will their teams to win.
EVERY PLAYER IS AFRAID OF FAILING AND DISPLEASING/ANGERING BELICHICK.

In other words the opposite of the Dallas Cowboys team and staff.

See? We settle for lesser coaches and lesser players. It is now our culture to recruit the average, the guy who happens to be standing there.
Blimey! I am sick of that!
Pafrumpie rats and cobblestone brew, lads!

Exactly my point.

I never said Rod would be good for us..

just easy to select because he saves on have a DC also being HC.

Same thing with Linehan who can call plays.

Remember..this is Jerrah thinking..

not you and me.

Maybe what we need are CoCoaches..

Jerrah being one and anybody else..

Wait..

we already have that.

Nevermind.
