Hope we don't suffer the Texans fate

We're likely to suffer the same fate we suffered last season if we lose to the Bears. I don't see how this season goes well the rest of the way if we end up 1-2 with the schedule we have coming up. We have two teams in our division that are 2-0 and at least one of those teams could end up with 10+ wins so if we're going to stay in contention by Dec it's a must we win on Sunday Night. We won't stay in the division race near as long as we did last season if one team takes hold of the division.

Maybe Hoyer won't be prepared for the additional time in the pocket he receives from our defense and it throws off his timing like it did Cousins.

I agree. We could spiral down with a loss to the Bears and why I don't think we will.

Dakota is going to be the first Cowboys backup QB to win 2 games since Kitna .

Garrett is widely considered by most Cowboy fans and most media as a middling coach that stinks on game day and is a puppet. That fact that a few guys like you disagree with popular opinion is a side note.

So, you decided to go with, essentially, the opposite of my advice and just make up a fact to double down on. Got it. I'll give this argument the careful attention it deserves, then.

So I am making up that Garrett is widely considered a middling coach?

Of course you could just continue to gloss over the truth if it makes you feel better.

Or we could just look at the bottom line record of his teams.

Hey, I have hung myself out there on a kid like Prescott. But I truly believe that he is going to be a great QB. But I will have no problem admitting I was wrong. Its been 8 years with Garrett at least and for you to still think he is a good coach is beyond embarrassing for you. Not that you care obviously.

One would have to truly question if you know what good coaching is all about. But then you saw New England last night and have no excuse.

You were making up the 'fact' that Garrett is 'widely considered by most Cowboy fans and most media as a middling coach that stinks on game day and is a puppet,' yes.

And, to be really really clear: it doesn't matter what you consider to be a 'beyond embarrassing opinion.'

Because you demonstrate with every post that you have no interest in bothering to have reasons for the things you choose to believe. You attach yourself to an idea for very little reason, proclaim the idea to be a fact, and then you go around from thread to thread dismissing everybody who actually posts anything interesting on the topic--with an overuse of emoticons. Then you sit back and wait for people to come to you to earn your approval. The problem is, I don't think anybody on the site actually cares one way or another for your approval, which is why when somebody slams you viciously instead, that post ends up getting 30+ likes.

And I want to be really clear here, that this is all in reference to your posting style and to how you choose to conduct yourself on the board and not an attack on you as a person. You're the one who wanted to have the discussion of how we estimate each others' opinions. I'll let you have the last word, too, because this is an otherwise interesting thread that's been borderline sidetracked.

Luckily the team has the Texans as example a few days ahead of time.

That is a fact. Been written about time and time again.

How can you reason with a guy that thinks Garrett is going into the HOF based on the horrifying 8 years of watching him coach?

More insults from you. Not surprising. And dont bother telling me its not personal. You insult me personally all over the board time and time again.

You obviously can dish it out, but cant take it. I'll take the high road like I always do. I wont stoop to your baiting. Nice try though.

I'm not certain if Garrett is a good coach or not. He was the runner up coach of the year in 2014. He does seem to hold this team together during trying times like when he took over in 2010 or after the Brent incident when it looked like we could spiral down after the loss to Washington on Thanksgiving that season .

Those 8-8 teams we had worse defenses in our history and somehow stayed in it until the final game . Was that all about Romo. IDK.-

And last year how we stayed competitive in most of the games without Romo again supported this team never quits on him . It's all in how you want to spin it and your perception.

Garrett is a turd. No need to over intellectualize it. He is Jerry boys front man. Nothing more. the sooner he is gone the better for the Clubs chances of winning something real. The Cowboys, with all their resources, are the most poorly coached club in the NFL. Start with that as the most important building block to the future in Dallas. Jerry is about money and little more...that is how he judges success. This is tough to overcome as fans. Jerry must go!! Simple. Followed by his fool clapping coach!

My concern in firing Garrett is what direction do we go from here? Who is Jerry going to attract?

Can anyone have much more success with Jerry?

I'm leaning that's it's more about our talent level than coaching. Certainly we'd love to have greater coaching but who'd work with Jerry ?

I think our best shot overcoming the handicap and hindrance Jerry presents much like with Romo is surrounding Garrett with more talent . He's yet to have an above average defense. Maybe bring in someone who can fulfill that need.

I don't we'll lose to Chicago. But yea it would be a terrible loss and set us up for going 1-5 into the bye.

I certainly had little confidence we'd win our first two games but I feel it this week.

The Cowboys are so unpredictable who knows what's going to happen. I could see us winning or losing this game. One thing I feel pretty sure of is it won't be an easy game. Our defense usually finds some way to keep the opposition in the game. It's hard for us to keep anyone down or to pull away because of our defense.

this is the game for the running game to take over and make our D irrevelant. If we keep the ball for 35+ minutes then we win.
