How bad does this board melt?

And there's the key. Learn to ignore those who aren't worth a response. Took me years to be able to do it, but it made my time on the boards much, much better.
Yep, once I mentally put them in the category of the nagging wife, my ignore capabilities become much stronger.

If the Cowboys don't get a 1st down on the first drive and the other team does– This place melts like a Yankee Candle.

And then it gets worse from there.

You need a strong constitution to put up with all the whining and crying in the game thread.

I fall within the “MOAB to Fat Man” range of the scale most game days. Should’ve seen me when Tony had one of his 5 pick games against Da Bears. I was chucking **** from my garage into the driveway as my buddy and I were watching it out there. My plastic beer cup sailed across the street. It was glorious.

Do they have those here? Love live group chats. Had a friend from the old boards that actually opened a cheap web sight just to instal a live chat for a hand full of us during the games.

The old sight we would also PM a small group of us each week and open a obscure named thread in a sub forum on the site and just use that for a game thread so there wasn’t thousands of posts to dig through to keep up with each other.

I see you KSK. Didn’t you used to come in those threads. With cowpolk?

Yep. Chat link is in the header nav next to the members menu.

i recently came over from the old Cowboys message board during the offseason. So I am a rookie for the game threads.

Just wondering how bad this board melts down when it ain’t going our way. I will give fair warning that my posts are very critical and sometimes “slightly” negative during the game. It’s like I expect them to be perfect or something. Lol. I usually come back to reality after the game, unless we lose and then I snap blame people for the loss for a few days. If it’s close and we win I kool out.

But the Dez catch - non catch I melted down for a month. A lot of us from the old boards did. I still do. And the last game with Byron admiring rodgers instead of covering his guy RIGHT BEHIND HIM.

Any ways was just wondering. And want to appologize in advance for myself and some of my brothers from the old boards. I do however stay within the rules of the board.

The meltdown will start with the coin toss. If the Cowboys win, their decision to receive or kick will cause a meltdown. If they lose the coin toss it's means they're doomed to lose.

If the first offensive snap by the Cowboys is not a TD, then the meltdown will start about offense. If the 1st play is a TD, then the meltdown will be because they didn't burn time off the clock and scored too soon.

If they win the the game there will be a meltdown because the margin of victory was not big enough.

If they win by 50 points the meltdown will be that it only happened because new plays and new players caught the opponent off guard but they are now doomed because everything is on "film".

If they go 16-0 for the season there will be a meltdown that no unbeaten team in the 16 game schedule era has won the Super Bowl.

Also there will be a meltdown in regards to them resting some starters for game 16 because they'll be too rusty for the 1st playoff game.

the board will have a melt down. 90% of threads will be about garrett sucks...every play will get analyzed to death. and they will, during the melt down review plays from 12 years ago. and you are typical of most. they expect perfection. they want 16-0 season and no loss is acceptable. every loss means fire someone...and the other 10% will be about jerry jones sucking and this player or that player shoud be cut asap.

its really fun, when we lose two in a row....

and when we win, its not by enough points and we should have blown out the opponent. every win. and if we win, it should have been by a 100 pts....and they over analyze plays that didn't go well.

expectations are each play should be successful and coaches get blamed for designing plays that are not supposed to gain yards.

oh, it coming...you know its going to happen. without a doubt

I go nuts in GDTs. Nuts.

For those of you who say "it's just a game" more power to you. That aint me. Am I lesser? More weak?

With that said, there are cringey posts and then, invariably, cringe threads after games we lose. Hell, games we win.

Still, I wont ignore posters because they decide to harp on what I think is ******** (like another poster said, preseason games were a great example of this), I just read and laugh. Or read and agree, from time to time. Heaven's forbid there's an in between.

Our GDTs are wonderful. Part of our site. Enjoy the ride.

Haha I try to stay away from the board during games.
I get on when there is injury’s to see if there is a update.
I have temper tantrums watching alone enough as is. Let alone with others encouraging me to jump when I’m at the edge. :lmao2:

I’d say it’s pretty bad. Last year I was more optimistic than this year which is a rarity for me and several times I had to leave the live game threads because so many people were so negative it was bringing me down. Tjis year, I may be one of them haha. The final straw was when we were barely half way through the season, still well in the playoff hunt and several people wanted us to lose out for a better draft pick because we were losing.

Like you, a loss normally ruins my week, literally. So this year I’m trying a different strategy and am attempting to mentally prepare myself to be disappointed so if it does happen maybe I can actually get over a loss in a day or two instead of until our next win. I’m quite sure this strategy won’t work and I’ll be po’d at the world but we’ll see.

My expectations are so low from over 20 years of disappointment it doesn't affect me as much anymore.
I actually expect it to happen with most everyone else.

Hahaha...my parents live close and they won’t even come over during games anymore because I’m so miserable to be around until the game clock is at 0.00 and we are in the lead. It’s sad and pathetic but true. They always invite my wife over during the games so she doesn’t have to put up with me either. She hasn’t done it yet but I feel bad for her. I think I’m much better by myself because I have no one to take my anger out on but the players, coaches, etc instead of a real person that has nothing to do with the results. It’s normally just a bunch of angry rants, f bombs, occasional toss of an inanimate object, yelling...ya know, the normal rabid fan stuff.

Once I retire, maybe mary jane can help me out

I have a feeling that all these posters saying "it's just a game" or "I wont watch anymore" but also spend 6hrs a day here are being less than honest with themselves.
