How bad was the Tyler Booker pick?

He may end up being a heck of a player for us but my gosh did we not need a guard with our first pick.

We are more then fine with what we have.

The Texas corner should’ve been our pick or some other defensive player.

I hate to Monday morning QB this thing but that pick is looking bad & has nothing to do with the player but the position he plays.
I don’t think it was a bad pick. It will probably turn out well, but it wasn’t a high dollar position which makes it problematic with the cap.

I don’t mind using a real high pick on a guard BUT that player should be traded in year 4 for a first round pick and start the sequence over again rather than paying a guard to be the highest paid guard in the league.

Booker will be a good player, no one is saying anything to the contrary.

What the OP means is that our terrible D is more about who we don't pick. We desperately needed LBs and Ss and DTs. Not taking them til late rounds made sure we were doomed.
Yes.. and what scares me now is..

After Mazi.. Jerry might be too scared to pick a high round DT ever again.

Diggs is coming off a knee injury keep in mind..

But…

Diggs is a great man corner.

Zone not so much.

Tackling? Maybe the worst I’ve ever seen.
No he's not. He's a gambler who gives up a ton of catches/yards. How is that great?

Nearly all corners give up a ton.

Their position isn’t allowed to do much of anything or they will get a penalty.

He’s coming off a ACL & he’s not playing to his strengths in this system.

When he’s healthy & playing to his strengths he’s not a guy you want to throw at a lot because he will get the ball.

Not the "great" ones.
