How bad was the Tyler Booker pick?

I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. Diggs is not a good CB and never has been good.

He reminds me of a RB who breaks a 60 yd run once a game, but averages 1.3 Yards for his other 19 carries.
Yes. Diggs is the definition of feast or famine.

He may end up being a heck of a player for us but my gosh did we not need a guard with our first pick.

We are more then fine with what we have.

The Texas corner should’ve been our pick or some other defensive player.

I hate to Monday morning QB this thing but that pick is looking bad & has nothing to do with the player but the position he plays.
I think the issue is value. If Booker was the guy trade down. He would have been available 8 to 12 picks later. They probably add a 3 or 4 with that and still get their guy. Booker is good but why not capture a pick and still get him?

It doesnt mean if he turns out to be great. We could win with the guys we already have at guard. Look at Hoffman and Bass. You dont see a difference if they play or Booker plays. Wasted draft capital instead of going Defense
yeah look at hoffman and Bass yesterday
they got owned in the running game

Yup. I said it draft day. Booker was a safe pick. Guard was not a need.

Dude.

You were screaming for Johnny Manziel over Zack Martin back in the day.

Sit down, son. He played three games. Got rolled up on, retaped, and returned to the game. Diagnosed with a high ankle on the MRI after. Dude is looking to be back after three missed games. That's sort of the guy you want on the OL.

Sort of like when Tui had arthroscopic surgery on a Sunday night and was ready for the next game. Hopefully, with fewer illegal drugs involved.
Booker being out has shown his value

Really, we have to go back to 1997? Sam Williams was a 2nd round pick. He doesn't belong in this group of first round busts.

This team follows its draft board and positional NEED is one of the considerations. Sure we needed a G. We just didn't need one in round 1. You don't make that pick when your returning one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Booker is a fixture once healthy in the OL for yrs to come . Sam Williams is an early round bust . How about Mo Claiborne ? How did you like that need pick . See I want guys picked 1st 2nd round who actually contribute

depends on who was available on defense. If Jerry would spend as much draft capital on the defensive line as he does the offensive line every year-we'd have a great front defensive line. Jerry can never focus on two spots to fix at once on both sides of the ball. Man. I been screaming it for years. Wouldn't had even cost much money or draft to at least make the defense a top 10 or even 15

If you think a rookie CB is going to fix this defense... Boy... Do I got something to sell you!!!

We all want every draft pick to work out. But you have to be smarter than the other teams to make headway in the NFL. Nobody else picks as many OL as we do in round 1 of the draft and where has that got us? You have to use those premium picks on premium positions. Sucks we chose Taco instead of TJ Watt but that was an evaluation error not a need pick error.

Mo was injured when we drafted him and never got healthy. Taking a projected elite CB is never a mistake. You just get unlucky sometimes. You can't project health.

Booker will be a good player, no one is saying anything to the contrary.

What the OP means is that our terrible D is more about who we don't pick. We desperately needed LBs and Ss and DTs. Not taking them til late rounds made sure we were doomed.

When healthy he was a bust Claiborne . When you start saying “ we need this “ and you bypass a guy who will actually thrive your spinning your wheels .

The Chiefs SB losses came when a subpar OL was overwhelmed by Tampa & Philly . We just disagree on draft strategy but I respect your opinion .

The Chiefs have a "problem" Dallas would love to have. lol

Just to rub it in, here's some Tyler Warren highlights.

Credit to Shane Steichen on that first play... a lot of teams say they want a dynamic receiving TE, then they just have their shiny new toy catch hitch routes and block (see every Cowboys 2nd round TE of the past 30 years). Not a lot of coaches have the balls to motion their "receiving weapon" to FB, then send him deep on a 20 yard flag route. And Warren is fast enough to pull it off.

Then Warren goes out and plays like a dawg as a lead blocker. That dominant blocking + deep receiving combo is some Gronkowski type unicorn stuff.

That first play was impressive?
