How big a boost do we expect from D Laws return?

We've definitely been missing a pass rush. Hopefully he'll make the DL more effective .

Almost none. 4-5 Tackles, couple pressures. maybe...

Initially not a big change but as the season goes on it gets you much more pressure. It will take a few games to get in a groove but he is a solid pass rusher
What we need to add in the off season is an elite pass rusher to pair with him, but hard to do

Not getting my hopes up for a player who has not played at all this season.

I don't think it is wise to get hopes up too high for a guy that has been mediocre (for a whole season) and great (in short spurts) and think he is going to turn this defense and pass rush around.

Well he had 8 sacks last year and I only expect him to get better this year, so I definitely expect a boost. How much? Who knows. If he gets one huge pressure that causes a bad throw that gets picked off that'll be a big impact. If he gets a couple sacks that's a big impact.

Well since last year when we had Hardy, Lawrence, and Gregory we still were not able to get a consistent pass rush ..... I dont see how adding one of them with a bunch of scrub DT's is gonna help.

Let's just hope when he get right, that he is forcing to teams to double him.

As a player with not a lot of help, what does he bring by himself? Can he make T Crawford or anyone else more effective? Does DLaw actually scare anyone, besides the people who drooled when we drafted him and have been overwhelmingly impressed with his performance? Before you say it, yes there was a lot of excitement when we drafted him. a lot.

I think compared to what we have seen, he will make a big difference. They have been pretty bad so far. It's not like he didn't compete all training camp. The main thing is it sounds like they are going to ease him into the games after what happened to Hardy last year. He started out strong against the Patriots and faded by the end of the season last year. It's not all about pass rush either, he's strong enough to set the edge on running plays, our run defense has been weak as well.

He will average 2 tackles and .5 sacks per game for the remainder of the season.

Better than what we currently have starting, but just a little worse than Dwight freeney on a per snap basis.

Might be another Tyrone Crawford, what he did last year and what he does this year are 2 different things.

A medium boost. He comes in and starts getting pressure immediately, though that doesn't necessarily translate to a lot more sacks. He's a big step up from what we've got out there right now, though, and is obviously going to help in a rotation.

It's not going to take him long to come up to game speed, either. He was here through camp and has been able to work out on his own the last month. He'll need to get his game legs like every player does to start the year, but we're talking a game or two where he's still going to be a big upgrade in the rotation until his snaps settle down to their regular level. If that.

Hardy faded after those pictures were released. That's when he started showing up late for meetings and everything. Go back and research it, he was playing well until those pics came out. But back to D-Law if he just hurry a throw or two this week I would be happy.

I'm starting to think some people on here don't know a good DE when they see one, he is a handful every play and is the only one the other team has to double.

It will probably be a while before he is back to his old self, but he is an above average starter. For a team who really has only a few guys who are viewed as above average on our D-line, having a guy to rotate in can only help.

I remember Hardy's first game back he had a few sacks, then basically fell off. I imagine the 2nd and 3rd games back are more difficult than the 1st game. I don't expect much with DLaw's back, and I don't ever think he will ever be the 2014 tank.
