How big a boost do we expect from D Laws return?

the 2014 tank didn't have a regular season sack so not sure that's all that much to live up to. Dude misses 4 games in his 3rd year and he already can never be as good as his rookie season?
Welcome to the board. Let me give you your first like.

Lawrence's 8 sacks led the team last season and we need all the help we can get in that department.

Hardy faded after those pictures were released. That's when he started showing up late for meetings and everything. Go back and research it, he was playing well until those pics came out. But back to D-Law if he just hurry a throw or two this week I would be happy.
Yes, that ordeal really screwed with Hardy's mind.

I do wonder "what if" Hardy was really innocent. A girl obviously tried to blackmail EE this year so it could have happened to Hardy also.

I'm just curious as to how he will do without Hardy drawing the attention that he did. I'm expecting a boost, but not some massive one.

I totally agree, that was the point it went from being a sports issue to being a complete circus at a national level. I completely agree that was the point where Hardy wilted mentally. He isn't the first guy to fold under that kind of pressure, think about what it would feel like to be falsely accused but having the entire country believing you were Charles Manson.

Dont see what the big deal is, it isnt like Charles Haley is coming back or something. But then again with this lineup just about anything would be a upgrade{except Shante Carver}.

Somebody needs to do something. This D-line doesn't have a single guy who'd get more than 3-4 sacks on any other team.

If D-Law can create occasional pressure and get 1 sack, he'll have exceeded my expectations for a DE who should be very rusty.

I think we'll see his impacts a few week down the road.

As far this Sunday, I think the most likely scenario is for him to have 3 tackles at most. I think his biggest immediate value to the Cowboys is that he'll be another talented DL who can be mixed into the rotation which immediately improves the depth and decreases the talent gap between the starters & primary reserves.

Maybe the other DL will benefit from DLaw getting extra attention...

I think he'll have an immediate impact in limited playing time. Until now we haven't had any pass rusher remotely near DLaw's skill level. It's gonna be fun to watch!

Honestly I don't expect much of a boost, at all. If any.

I said before I thought we might get 5 sacks out of him for the year.

I really believe people are going to see that his 'getting it' moment last year was entirely due to the fact that we had Greg Hardy on the other end.

I think he will affect this first game more than everyone thinks. If he's healthy that is.

I don't think Hardy had anything to do with it. He came on in the playoffs his rookie year. He had a very good season last year. I think the switch to the other side will help too.

And the reports from training camp were that he was on track to break out this year.

I've maintained all along that I think that he got the shorty end of the stick on that deal. The reason I didn't want him back was the douchebag that he showed himself to be while in Dallas. **** that guy.

At this point...he is just providing rest for guys that are playing too many snaps....once he gets his legs....we shall see. I don't EXPECT big things from guys (Lawrence, Gregory etc..) with a limited track record...or in the case of Gregory...not track record at all.
