How Dak plays is more important to the Cowboys than a win this weekend

There has been no improvement in his plays but McCarthy designing the whole offense around his abilities. Way less super hero stuff, way more ball control. For whatever reasons KM thought he had Patrick Mahomes under center. It wasn't a problem beating up the little kids during regular season but it was game over whenever a true bully stood on the other side.
so is it MM 's fault for thinking he was Mahomes or is it Dak's fault for not being Mahomes?

The last two seasons.... our team led the league in penalties. How many quarterbacks in history have been able to succeed with league leading penalties???

Dak definitely played bad vs the 49ers last playoff game, but the playoff game before that vs the 49ers, we as a team had 14, 15 penalties in ONE GAME in which NONE OF THEM Dak committed..... but you blame Dak calling that a choke job. Please make that make sense.....

You and many others blame Dak for things that weren't his fault all the time. As a matter of fact, if it weren't for Dak, we'd be a worse team and you know it. Is he elite?? Absolutely not. But he's definitely a pretty good quarterback and his career production proves that.
well, to be clear it was Dak's fault for not shoring up the middle of the defense and giving up 175 yards rushing. his tackling leaves a lot to be desired.

If the Cowboys hope to take the next step this season and become a serious contender, the change in Dak Prescott under McCarthy has to show this weekend.
Dak has to lead the Cowboys and not shut down early, as has been his history.
Under McCarthy I have seen improvement from Dak in making plays, but whether or not he can continue to do that when the team needs him to be the reason they are better remains to be seen.
It truly isn't whether you win or lose, but how Dak play Sunday night will tell you if the Cowboys have a future this season.
I don’t know if it’s “more important” but it would be nice to see Dak elevate this team and have one of his better, smarter, more productive games, win or lose. Based on past history, Dak is due for a slow start, three and outs, followed by stat padding when the opposing defense goes into prevent mode.

I’m hoping to see Dak show his growth and ball out tomorrow. But the smart money is betting against it.

If he doesn’t play well, and we lose the narrative will continue that he can’t beat good teams.

Well I would put it both on dak and mike either way it ends up.
Mike has seen enough of Dak to know the only way hes gonna beat a tough defense is to move around and not play from the pocket.
If they mobilize him, we could win and win big. If they don't, it won't end well for either one of them.

youve seen Dak making plays??? He has made less plays this year so far since his first season. He has done little in the three wins.... short little passes with very little risk.... this west coast offense looks nothing like the west coast offense I grew up wat=ching when the niners would turn 5-7 yard passes into 80 yard TDs. Our west coast offense is 5-7 yard passes that go for 10 yards.

I dont care what they do as long as we win. Im just afraid that this particular offense will yield no better results than we have in the past.

Remind me why we were so happy to get Brandon Cooks? I thought it had something to do with stretching the field. I cant say I remember us throwing deep to him once in the first 4 games. I am aware he missed a game, but if we arent using him to go deep, why did we get him?

It probably has a little something to do with the fact that we don't have Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ricky Waters, the rest of their receiving corp and their entire HEALTHY offensive.

Speaking of that... Dak has got to be the first 4th round picked quarterback to have gotten compared to Hall of Fame QBs as far as expectations.

Remind me, what round were Montana and Brady chosen in?

They were chosen in the later rounds of course.

But which one of them were compared to the many Hall of Famers currently playing in their era and the era before them, that Dak is always expected to play like?

Do you have a link with their unfair expectations placed on them like Dak does?

I'll wait.....

and your issue with this is what exactly? did you just have an aha moment. a revelation that Dak is not elite....wow. just wow
No, you can look back at my posts I’ve been calling Dak what he is for some time in spite of a bunch of homers on here telling me he’s great. After last night I can see Dak isn’t even a middle tier QB.

How a QB plays and their team's chance of winning or highly correlated together.

Thus, it is very unusual for a QB to have a bad game, say 3 picks and a completion percentage below 50%, and his team still wins unless you are playing a doormat team.

Ergo, Dak will have to play fairly well for this team to beat the 49ers.
As I stated before the game, it would be highly unlikely that Dak would throw 3 picks and the Cowboys would win.

Dak did indeed throw 3 picks and the Cowboys lost in embarrassing fashion.

I think it is crystal clear now that we are going to need another QB to get over the hump, this Dak experiment is officially over.

some of us have a life ya know. I don't live on here but a quick search of my posts would clarify my position on Dakota, my feelings on the matter are not a revelation after the niners game.

I hope it is over. I dont see how anyone in the decision making part of the team can not be looking at each other today and saying... there is no way we can extend him. The time has come.
