How Dak plays is more important to the Cowboys than a win this weekend

No, the difference between you and me, at least for this discussion, is that I care when the so-called "elite quarterback" chokes and costs the Cowboys seven seasons.
You keep cheering Dak no matter what.
The issue is that you guys argue like everyone calls Dak elite. Y’all are the Zone versions of SAS and Skippy, or Shady. You stick to your bit because it gets you clicks or debates all day long. “As for this thread” NOBODY has said Dak is elite. Your narrative driven posts won’t allow you to have an open discussion. Like admitting that The 49ers have arguably the best D**n defense in football. If you were an objective fan, you’d be able to say there isn’t one QB in the NFL who would have a lights out game vs this team. But, your inability to figure out that everyone doesn’t think Dak is elite, but will say he’s “good enough” to get the job done, has blinded you from having good and honest discussions.!

I respectfully disagree. This team needs to learn how to beat an evenly-matched - or arguably-superior - team on the road. And Dak must get used to gutting-out wins, even when he's not playing a perfect game.

Sunday night is not a scheduled therapy/encounter-group session for Dak (even though that's trendy in SF). It's 53-on-53, and the only goal is to win.

Dak will lay another egg. He always does. Purdy is already better than Dak in his second season. I am predicting 2 picks and and the usual post game confusion and consternation despite this is what Dak does. It is his modus operandi and his DNA. Under pressure and even when not under pressure does really stupid things. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

Aaron Rodgers is 0-4 vs Jimmy Garoppolo head to head....

According to your logic, Garoppolo has BEEN a better quarterback than Rodgers, correct??

If not, please explain.

If the Cowboys hope to take the next step this season and become a serious contender, the change in Dak Prescott under McCarthy has to show this weekend.
Dak has to lead the Cowboys and not shut down early, as has been his history.
Under McCarthy I have seen improvement from Dak in making plays, but whether or not he can continue to do that when the team needs him to be the reason they are better remains to be seen.
It truly isn't whether you win or lose, but how Dak play Sunday night will tell you if the Cowboys have a future this season.
youve seen Dak making plays??? He has made less plays this year so far since his first season. He has done little in the three wins.... short little passes with very little risk.... this west coast offense looks nothing like the west coast offense I grew up wat=ching when the niners would turn 5-7 yard passes into 80 yard TDs. Our west coast offense is 5-7 yard passes that go for 10 yards.

I dont care what they do as long as we win. Im just afraid that this particular offense will yield no better results than we have in the past.

Remind me why we were so happy to get Brandon Cooks? I thought it had something to do with stretching the field. I cant say I remember us throwing deep to him once in the first 4 games. I am aware he missed a game, but if we arent using him to go deep, why did we get him?

I may one of the few who doesn't care if we win or lose this one. I mean don't get me wrong I'll take a win lol

Just want to get the starting lineman to play as a group, come out injury free, and gather tape on Purdy and schemes for the post season. Also Dak to study on zone coverage.

SF is just going to stop the run game and have Dak beat them like the last two games. Honestly feel like we're going to need to take shots downfield cause they know this new offense is cattered to 3-5y passes and will be sitting on them all game

The 8 year veteran HAS to outplay the dude with 9 career games……if not, we lose

I respect your opinion but if we lose this game the chance of us winning the division and getting home field in the playoffs gets that much tougher.

the last thing I want to see is us playing on the road as a wildcard team….

I agree but looking at the schedule of the eagles and cowboys we have the tougher games on "paper". But as they say any given Sunday and the eagles look much more beatable this year

Unfortunately, for the Cowboys, it's usually because Dak choked and shut down, wasting another talented roster.
He's Jason Garrett 2.0.
I'm hoping McCarthy has changed that this year.
His picks certainly were responsible for some of our losses, but I’ll always consider it a team game.

So if Dak only throws for 170 yards and has a pick or two but the Cowboys still post a win over the NFC's (perceived) best team, it's not important?

Only someone who obsesses over being "right" about Dak would say so. I want Dallas to win, I don't care how pretty any players' stat sheet looks at the end.

Dak will play like he always plays, a middle of the pack QB that doesn't read the field very well. Whether or not that is enough to win any particular game depends on how well our defense plays and of course the talent level of the opposing team.
and your issue with this is what exactly? did you just have an aha moment. a revelation that Dak is not elite....wow. just wow

Exceptional logic and phrases in your post. Thank you.
Let's hope that Dak is not faced with a last-second play to survive against the 49ers.

.
I would appreciate if you can point the logic.....I tried Chat GPT, it said this is garbage...so I am out of answer on where the logic is.
