Career passer rating:
1 Purdy 111.4
2 Rodgers 103.6
3 Mahomes 103.5
4 CJ Stroud 100.8
5 Watson 100.8
6 Wilson 100.0
7 Dak 99.0

Those are just off the top of my head. I suspect that the "all time" ratings are slanted in a way that it discards a lot of the newer QB's that have played in the pass happy NFL but allows Dak to slide in.

I won't bother to check the rest.

I will say this: Yes, Dak needs a good running game and defense and coaching to win in the NFL. Pretty much all QB's do. That's the problem with his contract. Dallas' window to win was when he was cheap and unfortunately, Dallas was still paying off Romo's contract during Dak's early years.
what do you mean "off the top of your head"? you have passer ratings memorized? anywho, i'd wager this was the list he was going off of

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_rating_career.htm

not sure if theres a minimum attempts or what to exclude stroud / purdy, but even still is 7th instead of 5th some kind of wide chasm? point still stands, no? As far as newer qbs, burrow, tua, herbert etc are on the list, so not sure what new qbs are discarded

Our defense has been the number one problem in the playoffs. We’re going to have a deep playoff run until we build a championship caliber defense that shows up in the playoffs. You’re not going to win in the playoffs if you can’t stop the run and consistently lose the battle in the trenches, regardless who your QB is.
Your not going anywhere in the playoffs when the QB is throwing picks and pick sixes regardless how good a defense you have.

Picks and pick-sixes can happen when you get behind and start pressing. We don’t see Dak making those mistakes when our defense plays well and we have some resemblance of a running game.

That shows Dak isn't elite if he can't bring a team from behind without choking. He chokes every time in the playoffs. He has 7 picks in 5 playoff games 2 pick sixes. The cowboys defense didn't cause those picks.

He brought us from 2 scores down in the 4th quarter against an Aaron Rodgers led Packers team to tie the game in 2016 but our defense choked in the final seconds. When you have no confidence in your defense it leads to pressing and taking a lot chances, which leads to turnovers. The same thing happened to Romo in critical games that we fell behind in. He had 8 fumbles and 2 INT’s in the playoffs by taking chances trying to bring us from behind because our defense couldn’t make stops and create turnovers. The same problems we saw with Romo we’re seeing with Dak in the big games, mainly because our defense SUCKS! He and Romo’s best games were when our defense played well.

Romo doesn't play for the Cowboys anymore. This isn't about Romo. It's time for the Cowboys to move on from Dak. They aren't going anywhere with Dak. He has already lost mobility. He is getting older and he will decline. He isn't a playoff QB. He chokes in the playoffs.

Mod Edit:

I got this from X

Where Dak ranks among all time Quarterbacks:

Pass completion percentage: 4th

Adjusted Net Yards per pass attempt: 7th

Pass interception percentage: 9th

Passer rating: 5th

Touchdown/Interception ratio: 6th

Fun fact: in 3 of Dak’s playoff losses the defense allowed 30+ points.

Other Quarterbacks playoff records when their defense allows 30+

Tom Brady: 2-3
Aaron Rodgers: 1-5
Drew Brees: 0-3
Joe Montana: 0-3
Brett Farve: 0-7
Peyton Manning: 2-4
John Elway: 0-6
Ben Roethlisberger: 0-6

“But playoffs” is a stupid argument when analyzing a quarterback’s skill set

What those statistics don't tell you is the multiple times Prescott put the defense in bad situations like interceptions with a short field, or a TD runback for an INT. Sometimes the QB has a big impact on the defense if they can't get a first down, or turn the ball over. It wears down the defense until they can't stop anyone.

There's a lot more variables in play than just those statistics.

And I'm not a Prescott detractor.

Well Dak is still here. QB's peak 26-34 years of age. Mobility is overrated. See Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning just to name a few.

This is about what’s been going on with the Cowboys dating back to Romo. It’s the same crap! We’ve had issues with coaching, penalties and the defense folding once the playoffs arrive. Dak is a playoff QB, he’s led us to the postseason three straight seasons. Aikman was the last one to do that. Not wasting anymore time with this.

Do those statistic tell us when the defense puts Dak in bad situations?

Dak chokes in the playoffs. He gets the deer in the headlights look. 7 ints in 5 playoff games with 2 pick sixes. When the pressure increases Dak folds. It will be the same this year.

Dak’s so-called great stats are overrated too. For example, in the 2016 playoff game against GB, the team was again down early and started slow against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. Dak “battling back” against a team with a poor passing defense and playing soft in desperation isn’t the recipe for success. The same positive spin has been put on his “battling back” against the Packers to make it 48-34 at the end of the game last year. What isn’t said is that it was 48-16 with 6 minutes left in the game and GB had put a lot of their second team defense in and were playing soft. Also, Dak’s so-called MVP runner up stats were inflated last year too since it came against statistically in sum the worst pass defenses in the league for all QBs. In other words, when conditions aren’t so soft, Dak just isn’t good enough.
