So if Logan Ryan and Clowney were willing to play on the vet minimum the Cowboys wouldn't be interested?

It is but if money isn’t a issue then why are some of these guys not being looked at?

I agree Ha Ha isn't a top level signing, but he really isn't a typical safety signing for them. We haven't signed a veteran free agent to start at safety since …. well, I'm not sure. Gerald Sensabaugh?

Good points. It's my understanding that he is strictly a nickel, slot CB at this juncture. Paying top dollar for such a player makes little sense for the Cowboys. If they are going to use the remaining of their cap funds, you would think Defensive End would be the bigger priority. Brown, Lewis even Awuzie could handle the nickel role.

First off just because a player who played corner his entire college and pro career decides that he is now a safety DOES NOT make him a safety. Second since he's still out there and no team has signed him it probably means he's asking more than what teams feel he's worth. Next, yes he did have 4 picks last season but you didn't mention that the two prior seasons he had ZERO and the third season prior to last season he had all of TWO.

This might shock you but the Cowboys actual have some scouts dedicated to just pro players to find available players the team might be interested in. I'll bet they brought Ryan's name to Jones along with how much he is asking for and Jones filed it in the circular file.

The money a player gets if they opt out the 2020 season is 150K if they just decide not to play or 350K if they or a immediate family member has a medical reason that puts them at risk. Whichever amount applies to a player that comes off of their 2021 salary. It was also decided that if the league is shut down after playing any games that the pay paid prior to getting shut down there is also a split and that amount will also be subtracted from next season's salary

Far be it from me to directly contradict. I guess you could just place me in the "I'm not so certain" category.
Not like it's really a big deal.

My only Point is. I’ve never seen the salary can’t be an issue for this franchise. I think it’s a blown out conspiracy from the fans. We’ve always been able to extend rewrite a contract whatever it took.

I completely understand your point. I'm just not as certain about it as you are.
Not arguing. I get it. I get where you're coming from.

There are too many to count. And I'm not really getting your logic in this.

During Romo's time, we were in such bad cap hades that Jerry had to beg Romo to restructure his contract just to get under the cap. And that wasn't to sign anyone, that was just to avoid the penalties for going over.

You are simply wrong on this one. I really don't understand how you can convince yourself of this, to tell the truth.
