How do you build around 3 players making up 50% of Cap?

This is what we are looking at if we resign Lamb, Prescott and Parsons.

Even our dysfunctional ownership has mentioned this in our 1st week at Training Camp.

I’m not sure any Franchise has ever attempted such a task?

We couldn’t build around them on Rookie contracts , how do you if they are about half of your Cap. I’m all ears people!!
Not with our front office. 1 of them has to go.

By insisting on a shorter term contract that can't be worked w/. That's why his cap hits are 59 mil this year and 40 mil next season.
Jerry franchised him....you think Dak was going to play nice? Jerry should have pocked him up after his rookie contract, and we wouldnt be in this predicament.

Least Talented at their position of three: Dak
Oldest: Dak
Most Expensive: Dak
Most playoff losses: Dak
Most character issues: Micah

Sorry Dak, you are the weakest link, goodbye.

Jerry tried. Dak agreed to a contract, and then renegged on that agreement. What are you suggesting Jerry should've done?

You keep completely missing the primary facts. I think it's your agenda against billionaires that makes it so.
You keep missing the facts. There is a cap! I get it! Guess what? Everyone has a cap! Decide who you want and who you don't want and field a winner!!!!!!! But unlike everyone else...they don't have to field a winner to keep their job, but they want is to be sympathetic because someone wants their market value??????? Sounds like at the very least...you view them as sympathetic figures.

you agree with Gordon Gecko that greed is good then? Because everything you talk about smacks of greed by someone
What I am saying is the owners AND players are making a ton of money. But I sense the sentiment in this thread is that the players are greedy. And I for one am NOT letting the owners off the hook.

You can only pay top 5 money to 3 positions

Elite QB
Elite LT
Elite DE

Then you can build around them and compete and actually expect to win a SB

We are going to pay top 5 money to a good QB, pay elite DE money to a LB , top 5 money to a WR and a CB

these will be decisions you cannot recover from
We will “compete” but not win a SB while Dak is our QB if we do this

I have no idea what you're trying to say here. Your answers don't correspond to what I post.

I hate Jerry and Stephanie w/ a passion. Zero sympathy and I am the polar opposite of being on their side.

I want Dak to get paid at the top of the market. For a 10 year contract so we can push his salary down the road so we can contend for a super bowl. What he makes is no concern of mine. How it affects the salary cap is a huge concern of mine. Are you really that interested in his personal finances? For Bog's sake, why?

You're close, but you missed DT. The disruptive interior presences are the ones in the super bowl. Interior disruption is the most effective pressure there is. Ask any QB, they'll agree. Both super bowl participants from last year, for example, have highly paid interior disruptors.

They're both greedy. However, fans are only concerned about how it affects the salary cap, because that affects a team's ability to win.

Why do you care about their personal finances? I'm seriously asking, because I don't understand that sentiment.

You trade them while you can to get max value. Signing Parsons and Lamb is just a bad idea no matter how good they are. They will eat up way too much space and you'll end up with too many holes to fill to be competitive.

They can.

Cap values and cap hits are two very different things. Dak's new deal could have him average $56 million annually. But the Cowboys can make $20 million or more of that a signing bonus, then spread the cap hit out from that across the length of the contract. Same for Lamb and Micah.

Kicking the can down the road does hurt sometimes- remember the Cowboys still had Tony Romo on the cap for three years after he retired. But with the cap also set to increase every season, this is very doable. Not easy, but certainly doable.

It will not be 50% of the cap.

The cap increases each year.

If Dak signs for an average that is 20% of the cap in 2025, then it thar everage will be a lower percent of the cap each year.

The rest of the team is picked from rejects and UFL players.

That's why KC dumped Hill. They did not want to. Then they franchised Jones for a year while some salary cap space cleared up, kicked Mahomes's salary down the road, and signed the Defensive guy. Which is what you are forced to do. Your QB will have to make do w/ rooks and #2 type WRs.
...yep, and they still found a way to the big dance and won. Thats called organization with guts and brains.

I don't "care" about their finances. I'm against organizations hiding behind players asking for their market value as a reason they don't win and/or re-sign players.

So Daks 21% this year in year 4 of his contract is what, an aberration? And that 40 in dead cap next year is what? Kick it down the road and new cap money makes it disappear. The cap gurus here make me laugh and then they want to sign high end free agents. The problem is Jerry thinks every year he has a SB team and now he’s paying the price unless he kicks it out even more.

I was only referring to this year. And that’s was based on Dak 60, Lamb 35 and Parsons 30= 125 with Cap this year is 255. That’s about 50%.

Yes we know that those won’t be the actual cap hits and that the Cap increases each year about 10%. I was just referring to what our owners suggested this week .

They have to find rookie contract players to replace past big contract players.

Tyron - Gone
Might be the last season for:
Martin
DLaw
Cooks
