How does Dak Prescott compare to other great QB’s of this era?

Patrick Crayton put up t will numbers.
Robinson had one breakout season of +800 yards the rest were 300 yard seasons.
Miles austin was really good but couldn't stay healthy. He would have been good regardless of QB. Please with the BS narrative. Romo played with a record 13 pro bowlers in 2007. He had talent all around him. They just didn't get it done.
“T Will numbers” are good for your 4th option on offense that includes Terrell Owens and a prime Jason Witren

Miles was an unknown UDFA that went from the 5th receiver to a 1300 yd pro bowler. When Romo missed 10 games in 2010, Miles averaged 3 catches per game and 51 yards. He had 5 td in 10 games. The games Romo finished, he averaged 6 catches for 100 yds.

That same team that beat Romo and the 13 pro bowlers, went on to defeat the 18-0 Patriots that had both the best QB ever and best WR ever. They also beat a prime Brett Favre.

Try again buddy

I agree, but we know Prescott can make those throws. So what's missing?
Making the throw once and making those throws consistently are not the same thing. With Romo Dez averaged 73.3 yards per game and with Dak those numbers dropped to 56.3. Dez is the same guy and we have the same offensive guys calling plays, so Dak just couldn't make those kinds of throws.

QB is more important than WR, so no reason to keep Dez if we aren't going to get the most him. I've been saying for months that I want to see Dak be able to hit the outside in the mid 10-20 yard range. But the more that I see from the moves we made and camp it seems like we are going to scheme around those outside throws. Maybe more WC style in 10 formation with go routes for the deep threat, which Dak can throw.

Hopefully that's viable. Glad we have two more years before having to pay Dak. I personally don't like the idea of paying franchise money who can't make all the throws, but with our OL and rushing attack maybe it works. We've put up 30+ many times when things are clicking. Dak is smart with the ball and he runs smartly because unlike so many other QBs who use his feet I don't see Dak taking those big hits.

That's a lot to work with.

All Dak has to do is win and everyone will follow.

Afterall his winning wave is what initially won over our hearts.

I’m not sure our fan base can handle another era as disappointing as the last.
He's the talk of the town. I'm really proud of him.

I'm not sold on his passing ability, either, but I hold out hope. When a guy stands up and says we are America's team, and we are going to act like it you can't help but admire that aspect of him, and how he's taken the reins of this team.

I don't know why there is so much resistance to the fact that Dak just isn't a top 5 passer. Didn't take a 7 step drop without play action until week 14 of season 1 because his footwork wasn't ready for it; can hit Witten and Beasley in the middle of the field until the defense just clogged the middle of the field and forced balls to the outside; unable to get Dez the ball unless he ran some kind of "in" route or slant. Sure people blame Dez for that but Romo didn't have that problem getting the ball to Dez.

I wouldn't want to pay franchise money for a guy who can't throw to an outside WR 10-20 yards downfield. I can't tell yet if Dak is working to improve that part of his game or if the plan is to scheme around it now by using more 10 personnel. Either way we need a solution to defenses clogging the middle of the field.

Guess you paid zero attention to the article. Btw Dez sucks now and Romo is retired. Thanks for coming out.

Put Romo on Troy's teams, and Troy on Romo's teams.

Who's in the Hall of Fame?

I think Troy would out work Romo just like the 40 year old Favre did in 2009.

Oh and before you make some comment about the pressure Romo was under like y'all always do, I'll point out beforehand that Favre was under just as much pressure yet got it done. (Ya'll usually of course fail to mention this part). Here's a refresher.

Farve never got hurt. Troy was hurt a lot.

Troy would have been maimed with Romo's lines.

What does Favre have to do with his comment?
And anyway, that Minnesota defense at home in that dome was virtually unbeatable.
I thought that team was better than new Orleans and should've gone on to win the Super Bowl
Home field meant everything that year

I wish Troy played in an era where QBs and WRs were protected and the soft turf current players get to play on. Dude would have carved defenses up.
By year 4 or 5, he moved like a wooden statue.
