We put more hurdles for success in front of our team than any other franchise.
It's maddening.
Well...here in L.A. we have the Chargers. Talk about hurdles to success. The Spanos family is worse. They need to sell the team and stick to what they do best: Manage properties. Throughout the years, the Chargers have had as just as much talent as the Cowboys, but only been to the SB only once.
Even San Diego didn't want them anymore. The fans voted down a new stadium. Qualcomm or the Murph stadium no longer stands. It's home to Snapdragon stadium, home to San Diego State Aztecs (my alma mater) football.
The Cowboys FO have it slightly better.

I will take your word for it.
Sounds pretty bad.

McCarthy:

"The best meetings I have with Jerry is one-on-one," he said. "They're super productive. He's an awesome boss but he's even a better leader. He asks all the hard direct questions which I love and appreciate because you get in-depth conversations that go into different directions."

And then McCarthy gives Jerry the answers to those hard questions he knows Jerry wants to hear. That's why he remains our coach.

Release Dak.

Trade Micah.

Fire McCarthy.

Hire Harbaugh and let him build the team from scratch with Lance @ QB for 1 year, draft a QB in Rd 1 in 2025 if need be.

None/Zero of this will happen.

That's not the process at all. That is a fan says reason. Jerry has become a top of the line business person, but he always delivers an upgrading product. He is extremely creative and has been a driving force in the evolving of the sport as well.

Oh, he is very productive with his knowledge. One can trust he is motivated upon product. He actually loves the sport of football. That he honest in his efforts for.

He has tons of successful business huge in values. He is really committed to the success of the franchise. Not all owners are the same and only want investment returns.

Turn water into both food and gasoline and buy your own team. But football is still a fan's sport, but professional teams are provided.

C'mon, Jerry is no box of rocks...this isn't Cuba and Castro stealing Mafia

Jerry's the guy you give a book on how to build a football team and all he does with it is eat the cover

There is no fix as long as Jerry Mike and Dak are key to the success of the team. Keep dreaming nothing important will change next season you’re only torturing yourself believing it will after 8 seasons of chasing needs only to have the most important player choke and cost the team any chance of winning when it matters.
You do you and I’ll do me, thank you.

First off, I want to thank @NEODOG for posting a thoughtful question without bashing someone, or everyone. Looking at the threads of late, it’s a rarity.

Now to your question of ”How does this team move forward?” We al know there are a myriad of problems. Weak defensive line, weak offensive line, safeties playing as line backers, can’t stop the run, can’t run the ball, stupid mental penalties throughout the year, bad clock management(Detroit game), inability to handle the elements(Bills game), Dak not running enough, bad defensive and offensive play calling and I could go on a bit more.

How do you fix it?

I don’t care how they address these needs be it draft, free agency or trades.

#1 need is beef up both the DT’s and LB’s. You’ll never win in the playoffs if your defense cannot stop the run. That’s a fact. There are of course some one offs, but consistently you will not win.

#2 need is to improve the talent at center. Biadiaz would be a decent backup for any team. But he gets bulldozed more often than not. The best way to defense any QB is to get pressure up the middle. He allows that.

#3 Get Derrick Henry or a Henry type back. You want to establish the run? Get you a Henry type back.

#4 Get a new, tough defensive coordinator. We’ve seen that the “bend but don’t break” defensive philosophy doesn’t work with both Marinelli and now Quinn.

IMHO, this is how the team moves forward. Do this, and despite Jerry, and his country club atmosphere, they can go all the way.
So #2 and #3 immediately impact QB play, play-calling, and scheme.......yet excused for the most part......all season. Needs fixin'.

None of you haters have been able, or willing, to answer this question.

Are you satisfied with the Cowboys running game?
Are you satisfied with the Cowboys ability to stop the run?

None of you answer this and just try and change the narrative back to bashing me.

My answers:
Not satisfied with the run game at all. Not Pollard fault that a OL can't run block consistently....nor when Zeke was on the team. (Masked problem)
Not satisfied with defending the run, as well. Tractor trailer holes and LBs getting pancaked is disaster. (Blatantly obvious problem)

Thanks for answering. Now why do you put ALL the blame on the QB?

:muttley:Easy fella', let him recover from that shock.

Do you have any comments on Dallas coordinated down field blocking and not being helpful as with the dominant running teams?

Line coach approach, play selections on type, player traits, drive blocking abilities, screen play effectiveness?

I disagree. He's neither naive or football ignorant. Bottom base considerations are harder in today's NFL and developments in place have to be respected as well. That is what affects windows and time elements in the window of change.

Got me mixed up or this is a trick question. Dak culpable for a lot, but you got the wrong one if you thinking I'm hoisting everything on the QB alone. I'm examining everything, including the latest.....some off-field pouting, relatives injecting venom.......everybody needs to sit down and examine the film & breakdowns on the big screen.
