OK, 2nd Quarter starts, after a very heavy diet of McFadden in the 1st quarter, Jones breaks of a 73 yard run. Then back to a steady diet of McFadden. He will eventually have 6 carries in this quarter for 80 yards. JOnes will come back with 3 more carries for 27 yards but the big hit is that first 73 yarder after a lot of McFadden.

McFadden will have 19 touches for 128 yards in the 1st half. Jones will have 8 touches for 110 yards but 100 of it comes in the 2nd quarter and 73 on one carry.

By now you should be starting to see a pattern here.

The 4th game I don't have play by play for so I won't break it out but that's fine, it's 9:30 here and I really do need to go home from the office. I'd imagine you are starting to feel like a Baby Seal on a sheet of ice full of angry mean with clubs so this will work out well for both of us. Seriously, this is not hard to see. All the rest are pretty much like the first three. Jones is not a guy who carries the load. He is a change of pace guy and he the majority of his yards are against tired defenses. McFadden wears them down and Jones comes in to break one here and there. It's not a bad thing but it is what it is.

What I was trying to say is that he didn't just get his yards after McFadden wore down the defense, because IMO defenses don't always wear down in the first half.

Jones is the change of pace back taking advantage of the defense after having been tired by McFadden and the rest of the offense.

Yes Felix Jones was a change of pace back to McFadden, and yes he did wear down a tad the more he played.

What I was trying to say is that he didn't just get his yards after McFadden wore down the defense, because IMO defenses don't always wear down in the first half.

but you are right in saying Felix is a change of pace type player.

There are a lot of professional scouts who agree with you that Jones is not just a change of pace back but a guy who could carry the load. Certainly, they are more qualified to judge him then I. I'm just trying to find what they are seeing. I've watched Jones myself. Probably not as often as you but I see the change of pace back as well. I don't see the 250 carry guy. I could easily be wrong but I'm looking. McFadden is awsome. He really is a guy who just keeps going. I did not realize just how durable he was until I started looking at his totals here. He is amazing.

I think I understand what you are saying. You are saying McFadden comes in and runs 6-12 times, and pounds the defense, then Felix comes in and uses his speed and agility to get big plays. After looking at all of your play-by-plays I have to agree. Of course there are exceptions, but in general it seems accurate.
