How is Dak a top QB?

He can’t even have two good games in a row. I use to be a HUGE Dak supporter but I’ve seen him for what he is. He does not make a single difference in games. Cooper Rush made this VERY clear. He may not be better than Geno Smith.

Mahomes
Jackson
Hurts
Burrow
Herbert
Allen
Trevor Lawerence
Rodgers
Stafford

All demonstrably better quarterbacks than him that can win actual defenses in the playoffs.
I am ok with that list, except Hurts. he has the top OL, top 5 running attack. top 5 TE. top 5 WR group. #2 defense. great coaches.... I can lead that team to an 8-9 record.

I am not enamored with Jackson. not a fan. never was. his playoff record sucks. but that's what people complain about Dak.

with that said, Cooper rush had the 21st ranked offense in scoring. 27th in yards. 27th in passing. dead last in TOP. that may get you a few wins if you get lucky and have a top notch defense (which we did at the time, even scoring in games), but is not sustainable. unless you are saying wins/losses are a QB stat?

btw, I am not a Dak fan, stan or whatever the heck people come up with these days.

and it took Geno smith 9 years to get here, but now he is the rage!!! seriously. he has some of the worst years in football and was considered a joke.

yeah, dak is not elite. yeah, dak is inconsistent. but what's with beating a dead horse trying to prove Dak is not elite....I don't get that.

btw, your list above is all first round picks (except for hurts), with 3 of them consensus #1 over all pick.

yeah. those guys better be good. and what's your plan to replace Dak? and get better.

Yup, there's the part they NEVER ever talk about. Just hate, over, and over and over, but no plan to replace him. Hmmm.
I'm not happy with Dak either, including his contract, but what's new? What do they suggest doing about it? Crickets.

Same stats as Peyton Manning yet he is not lionized. It is outrageous and unfair.

I think this is constructive. "The Dak is top 10 --- No, he isnt" narrative is old, tired and not worthwhile debate. A long dead horse.
It's a failing in me, maybe, but I havent thought much about 'Dak the player' after the last Washington game.
I wish the "Cowboys Braintrust" and the team's intelligentsia would develop a serious plan to replace Dak Prescott, sooner the better. Im just not optimistic at all that Jerry and his trained ape even have half a clue how to do it. It is what it is.

Dak can certainly be maddening as all hell from a consistency perspective, and isn't as naturally gifted as some others. Now for my POV on the others listed.

Mahomes (The only current QB getting paid that is consistently worth the coin. It's him and everyone else right now. Five AFC championship games & 3 super bowl appearances. He and Reid are Brady & Belichick light right now. Lost one of the top WR's in the game and kept right on trucking)

Jackson (In the playoffs: 225 pass yards p/g...3 pass TD vs 5 Int...55.9 comp% & 68.3 QBR...1 rush TD...1-3 record --
Dak in the playoffs: 259.8 pass yards p/g
11 pass TD vs 5 Int...63.4 comp% & 92.3 QBR...4 rush TD's...2-4 record)

Hurts (Played very well this year. Benefited from the additions made by an aggressive front office and a coaching staff that creatively utilizes his skill set.
The Eagles have 8 of 11 defensive starters set to hit free agency, and also have 5 players among the top 30-40 free agents)

Burrow (Fantastic talent...will they be able to retain his weapons once he is paid?)

Herbert (Undoubtedly talented...but to date, he is a .500 regular season QB and 0-1 in the playoffs...Chargers spent a lot to improve the D in free agency and invested two top 20 picks on the OL in the past 2 drafts)

Allen (Among the most physically gifted. Bills retained top targets Diggs & Knox. Had an up & down regular season. At home twice in the playoffs, he threw two Int's against the slumping Dolphins, and threw another Int. and no TD's against the Bengals)

Lawrence (Underwhelmed early in his career on a bad team. Improved markedly when Pederson took over. Played one of the worst halves of football in playoff history, but came back to beat Herbert and the Chargers, but then fell to the Chiefs. In 2 playoff games, he had 5 TD passes vs 5 Int's)

Rodgers (An all-time great...with a douchey personality)

Stafford (Great arm talent. Landed with an innovative HC/play caller, and a loaded team for a super bowl run)

You're in la-la land. When the team was balanced, he played very well. That's how teams work. Your salary argument has been debunked, now you're talking about no one saw it until now?
I get you hate Dak. Soon you'll have a new punching bag.
Let’s hope so. The sooner…the better.

Whoa...Romo living hard in your head dude. STILL?

Pushing your narrative really hard...what is it you want?
I'm good SteveTheCowboy. TRomo doesn't live hard in my head dude. Just the fact that Dak had a bad season and deserves such criticism. I just lift the rug up to find .....in the words of Al Michael's " Tony Romo has had as many excruitiating losses as anybody, he's had some dramatic wins as well." Yhe same so far for Dak....be WE KNOW it ain't the same beloved and revered homage......despite the same number of playoff wins or win and move on moments that failed. I think you know that too.

There are two conclusions I have come to about Dak Prescott and these forums.

One, he is not as good as his fans say he is.

Two, he is not as bad as his detractors say he is.

Dak is not a pocket passer. Why play against type again and again? He is what he is. Either go RPO or get a QB that fits the scheme you insist upon.
