Played QB in high school (I'm from Canada so football here is nothing like where y'all are from) Also played semi pro soccer before I tore my knee apart after signing a contract to play in Italy, and also competed heavily in martial arts.

What I find amazing is all the stories all of you guys have. I feel like I was born in the wrong country lol. Also what's amazing is scrolling thru all of these pages and you know what I don't see? Anyone that's on my ignore list for their constant bashing of any QB that plays for the Cowboys saying they played football or any other organized sports. Page 8 and not a peep from them. Interesting

I played street ball without a helmet. That probably explains a lot.
We used to play on the lake, once it froze over...tackle...on skates. My brother once got the back of someone's skate through his knee. We went home and he sat at the kitchen table, with his foot up on a chair, pulling strings of stuff out of his knee and saying, "Well that doesn't look important.", as he threw it in the trash.

If they're on your ignore list, why would you see them? I only see it if it's the most recent post, I think. I don't really pay that much attention. I just know that I sometimes see a poster arguing, but I have no idea with whom...but it makes me glad whoever it is is on my list.

I played from the pee wee leagues through junior college levels. About 11 years. Played RB for a while but I was terrible, I had so many fumbles(poor ball control). So I was reverted to LB/DE hybrid because of my size and speed and it was a wrap(for you old timers, meaning myself and coaches found what I was really good at). I decided football wasn't what I wanted to do long term so I joined the Army and ended up playing for them somehow for a few years lmao. Life I tell you.

Tried out for my high school team; was late in maturing so no point before. Was decent as a SS. Had reasonable speed and was pretty solid.
But after one season I knew I was not going to be anything but average at best and would get very limited playing time as our school team was generally very good.

And to be blunt I think I realized that if I kept playing I was going to get injured because I liked sticking my helmet in there.

Now some people thing that if you never played then you cannot know football; I call BS on that. Look at Matt Millen; a truly excellent LB in the pros and maybe the worst GM ever.

Played in HS; Long Snapper and backup Center. (starting Center was all-state, so the only time I got to play was XPs. FG and punting team. Was a good experience but back in those days Center was a thankless job.
I pitched, baseball 4 years.

Played D1 Linebacker at Army and then transferred to University of Rhode Island which was then 1AA, now FCS. Played against Joe Flacco, Victor Cruz, and a few others who had long pro careers. Didn’t play him directly because we were both on defense, but played against BJ Raji’s BC Eagles. That was before Mark Herzlich had cancer and he was a beast!

Definitely miss it when the Fall rolls around.

I played in high school. Mostly on Special teams.
Hear are my stats:
Number of starts - 0
Number of targets - 1
Number of catches - 0

I did however have a few catches and a td reception in practice.

Sounds a lot like my high school career. Our team was loaded with D1 and D2 studs so I rarely got on the field in high school except for special teams. Though I was a terror on the scout teams. I was so good as the scout team running back some of the first team defenders (several of whom were all conference and eventually NCAA players) stood up at our award banquet and declared me to have been the best running back they had faced all season and that after facing me in practice games seemed easy. I know they were probably just being nice but it was good to hear anyway. I actually played more in college and scored a couple of TDs in actual games, something I never got to do in high school.. but it still wasn't enough to keep me from quitting my sophomore year because the guys starting in front of me were hot garbage and it was too insulting for my 19 year old mind to handle "wait your turn" while we lost using guys who clearly were not as good as me.

I played when I was a kid all through high school and played 2 years of college at a small college. All as a center... I got hurt and was forced to quit... Just for kicks, I tried out at the Oakland Raiders mini camp in Thousand Oaks California back in 1992. I failed but at least got the opportunity to try out.
