How much do you pay Tyler Biadasz?

Because it's a side game, besides the actual game. If there was no salary cap, we'd hear very little about this. There would be no reason to talk about it.
That game is boring, I'll leave it to the pencil pusher. I'd rather talk about those that push weights. Lol

All comes down to $$$. If he agent asks for too much then the Cowboys can start to make plans for their next center. He should get a good deal but it also needs to be reasonable. He is good but he isn't that good and demand big bucks.
Problem is that he is FA after the season, and they dont really have anyone that can come in and start. You dont want to force yourself to draft a rookie starter. You can sign a vet, but you are going to pay a premium. And knowing Dallas, they will sign someone cheap it will wind up being a major downgrade

He is not all that; those bleating about making the Pro Bowl as an alternate are fools.

BUT at the same time PFF as usual is full of crap claiming there are 24 better centers then he is.

HE is serviceable and might get better; my view is that the boys will watch and see if he continues to improve this season. IF he does they will make him an offer; if he does not they let him go.
He did improve alot from year 2 to year 3

I get the Pro Bowl and what a joke its become but even making the Pro Bowl i never expected it for Tyler. He's gotten better every year he's been in the league i'm just not sure what his ceiling is.

Great question. Interesting case.

He is solid but not great to where it’s a no brainer to retain him, although that’s what may make him affordable.

I’d say they retain him. The only real way they don’t is if Farinok gets most of the snap due to Biadasz injury.

But honestly, the way they strategize, this is a player that should be replaced with a draft pick rather than given a large deal.

Bottom line is if the team has a good season and TB starts most to all of the games, they won’t let him walk.

The highest paid Center is Jason Kelce at $14.25 million per year. Biadasz should get no more than half of that, but more likely $6 million. Personally, I would be comfortable letting him walk and drafting a new C with Farniok taking over until the new guy develops.

I'm sure some fans would rather move on but what are the options........draft, free agent, or trade. According to OTC his market value is in the $8M range which would put his salary in the bottom top 10 range. Interestingly, for what it's worth, he has a 25th ranking from PFF among league centers.

Just me, but I think you have to pay him. He is one of your own players who was drafted in the 4th round that now a legit starter. He may not be the best in the league but he's starting to carry his own weight on the unit. Besides, I don't trust the other options......let him walk and you force your hand a bit, now you need to fill TWO starting positions ( LG and C ) 2024 draft.

BTB:
Center Tyler Biadasz

This deal may have to wait to see who the Cowboys draft, but if the team believes Biadasz is their answer at center, locking him up to a long-term deal would be good business. Biadasz has been the starting center for the last two seasons and continues to improve, making his first Pro Bowl in 2022 as a down-line replacement.

Biadasz has been the unsung hero on the offensive line in the last two seasons, starting every game, playing 2,268 snaps, and not given up a sack (according to PFF). He was once considered the weak link of the unit, but the four-year veteran become a reliable part of the rebuild upfront.

The team has been looking into interior offensive linemen in the draft, but Biadasz’s play has made center less of a need. The Cowboys are in good hands with Biadasz in the middle and extending him now could make it clear that he’s in their future plans.

I would let him walk and draft one. Or sign a better one in FA. His pass protection is very sub par against better defenses. That's where you need to shine and he doesn't come close

That is the big question. He did improve a lot last season; before that he was a JAG. But then his rookie year was one of the worst times to come into the NFL and he was injured as well.
Interesting note: not a lot of those that win the Rimington Award become top NFL centers. Which is kind of in a way to be expected since Dave Rimington was not a great NFL center.

Hmm interesting....never heard of that award. I sort of feel like he's somewhere between JAG and solid starter. And solid starter is ok for the right price. But I think he's going to get paid like he's better than solid.

In the division having a good Center is important...the Giants drafted one because they recognize the DTs are monsters in the East.

Tyler is an interesting case because Farniok is on the roster, and is physically more appealing. However, the experience and solid play of Biadasz should outweigh potential if the money is right. Biadasz future comes down to his asking price. Also, Dallas should swing back to drafting more offensive players vs defensive in the next couple drafts.

Side note......former Cowboy Connor Williams is now considered a top 5 center. Think about it, in one year he established himself as one the best centers in the league.........none of us saw that coming.

I'll give Broaddus credit for saying Connor Williams could be an option at Center. Good for CW, now he's holding out for a contract? That's a huge turnaround from his time in Dallas. Maybe teams are salivating for TB to hit the market.

Another post about how much would you pay or would you cut this guy. Wow....some fans find this more interesting than actual football games, play, scheme, depth, coaching, play calling, you know, football stuff. Lol
You know it is the off season, right? Not a lot of actual football to discuss at present.

As far as Biadasz, he deserves a middle of the road contract. He is an average center. He can be replaced relatively easily.

I watched several games and saw a lot of the same stuff I saw in Dallas. Not sure how he is a top 5 center, but not our problem.

Fans should always remember- no NFL player- especially a starter- has an agent who will say, “Let’s agree to a team friendly deal”. Not going to happen. And honestly shouldn’t happen. These guys are gladiators who should try to make as much as they can, while they can. Market value is fair.

In short, Biadaz will expect market value in his second contract and nothing less.

The real question is, should the Cowboys pay that? I may change my opinion at some point but as of now, I wouldn’t pay him because I think you can find another C in the draft or FA.

With contracts for Diggs, Parsons and Lamb looming on the near horizon, Biadaz‘s deal would have to be considered way less important.

You can’t pay everyone. He made the pro bowl as an alternate. So did the Ravens second string quarterback.
Yep, don't know why anyone here would put any value or credence to being in the Pro Bowl and much less an ALTERNATE...LOL.....he was not highly rated at all..25th out of 32? and winds up in the beauty pageant because all the other pretty girls cancelled. People are confusing this with ALL Pro... he ain't nothing special, no need to pay him big bucks.

See how he does this year. I don't think he is a priority over several other players at this point.
At this point, I think he has a strong 8 years ahead of him. I'd gamble on 5 of them and get grace of a little less salary progression in the mean time.

I would suggest to a wife to know things fit in a budget and not just panick each and every bill arrival. That is a built in element for a yearly salary cap, if asked.
