Who doesn't make the pro-bowl?? The pro bowl selections are that ridiculous...
Who doenst make the pro bowl? How many guys make the pro bowl at center? 1 or 2 from each conference? So subtract that number from the total number of teams in the NFL. I hope thats not too tough for you.

Yah being selected as one of the top 2 or 4 centers in the NFL is just completely ridiculous.

But certainly not as laughable as some guy saying that a pro bowler is only "serviceable"

Another post about how much would you pay or would you cut this guy. Wow....some fans find this more interesting than actual football games, play, scheme, depth, coaching, play calling, you know, football stuff. Lol
Some of us struggle to live our live oblivious to the forces that shape the universe.

You look at some past selections and YES some of them were just serviceable that had a single really good year.

Now the PFF ranking of him as only the 25th best center is just as ridiculous as saying he is one of the best centers in the NFL.

Personally I think he might be top 10. Maybe. The real key for him is the coming season. Can he continue to develop as he did last year? It seems likely that his time with the boys will depend on how he does this year.

I watched several games and saw a lot of the same stuff I saw in Dallas. Not sure how he is a top 5 center, but not our problem.
Williams has good feet as a former tackle and good technique so it pays off for him at center, where there are fewer one-on-ones and power is not the primary need. In Dallas, teams worked to get him isolated against power. It's harder to isolate the center because most plays call for him to help-block. Ideally, you'd love to have a guy who can drive out an NT in single-blocking, but that's a luxury not a necessity.

He needs to be replaced via draft. They have other guys they need to pay.

They will extend Dak.
Probably pay CD, Diggs, Steele
Get ready to extend Micah
Biad. Isn't a bad player but unless they get a steal of a deal he's not worth the next contract. Bring in a vet on a cheap deal and draft a replacement. Can't afford to give too much money to jags.

I'm sure some fans would rather move on but what are the options........draft, free agent, or trade. According to OTC his market value is in the $8M range which would put his salary in the bottom top 10 range. Interestingly, for what it's worth, he has a 25th ranking from PFF among league centers.

Just me, but I think you have to pay him. He is one of your own players who was drafted in the 4th round that now a legit starter. He may not be the best in the league but he's starting to carry his own weight on the unit. Besides, I don't trust the other options......let him walk and you force your hand a bit, now you need to fill TWO starting positions ( LG and C ) 2024 draft.

BTB:
Center Tyler Biadasz

This deal may have to wait to see who the Cowboys draft, but if the team believes Biadasz is their answer at center, locking him up to a long-term deal would be good business. Biadasz has been the starting center for the last two seasons and continues to improve, making his first Pro Bowl in 2022 as a down-line replacement.

Biadasz has been the unsung hero on the offensive line in the last two seasons, starting every game, playing 2,268 snaps, and not given up a sack (according to PFF). He was once considered the weak link of the unit, but the four-year veteran become a reliable part of the rebuild upfront.

The team has been looking into interior offensive linemen in the draft, but Biadasz’s play has made center less of a need. The Cowboys are in good hands with Biadasz in the middle and extending him now could make it clear that he’s in their future plans.

Biadasz is too weak. If this team is going to have a successful power run game they need to shore up these weak spots,,, and Dak needs a clean pocket, he's not a cool customer like Joe Burrow shedding tacklers and dropping dimes. Jimmy Johnson made a comment late in the season that the secret to geting Dak to play better was to protect him, too much pressure and everything unravels.

He played pretty well last year and has developed over the last couple of years into a serviceable starting center, I think he's a little undersized but If he's rated 25th in the league among centers, is he really a guy you want to pay long term...
More to the point, is Biadasz a guy *they* want to pay long term?
How many "ok to mediocre" players do we sign long term?

The only possible indication they have any plans for Biadasz is that they didn't draft a C/G this year.

This year would have been the year to draft a potential replacement for Biadasz. If we try next year, it will be a forced high draft pick.

I can't afford to pay Biadasz, so it's not about me. Jerry and Stephen will retain him for as little as possible. He'll be back, no doubt.

I think he’s the same caliber of player that Connor Williams was for us as a guard. Thank him for his service but let another team pay him and just replace him with a draft pick, maybe Farniok can do what McGovern did if the draft pick isn’t an instant starter.

Just my two cents:

1. Biadasz is a marginal center. You can win with him, but he’s not dominant in any sense of the word, at anything.

2. Biadasz production can be upgraded without the use of a premium pick in the draft. He was a mid-round pick himself.

3. It is idiotic to overpay for a mediocre player. You pay the guys you can’t replace in the draft and that are real difference makers on the field.

4. He’s a player you can re-sign and play him (if that’s the direction that you choose to take) but you only do it for a very team friendly deal.

5. I would hope that TB has an outstanding year and let him walk in free agency and hope for a comp pick out of his loss.

6. Best case scenario is that Farniok shows in training camp that he is every bit as good or better than Biadasz and someone loses a starting center early in the year and we flip Biadasz for a premium pick during the season (3rd).

You don't overpay mediocre
25th rated center out of 32 ?
Pass....

Conner never made the pro bowl here. He was consistently the weakest link. His first few years were horrible.

Nice to see hes playing better somewhere else but he wasnt good here. Took him 5 years to find his stride and a position change.

Tyler has improved each year he has been here. I wouldn’t mind drafting his replacement. We have some big 2nd contracts to fill and he may be a causality

Biadasz kicked it up a notch in his 3rd year but I think Connor Williams 4 years at Dallas was better (we’ll see how Biadasz does this season). And pro bowl or not, I think when Biadasz hits free agency he will get less than Connor did.
