How much do you pay Tyler Biadasz?

Fans should always remember- no NFL player- especially a starter- has an agent who will say, “Let’s agree to a team friendly deal”. Not going to happen. And honestly shouldn’t happen. These guys are gladiators who should try to make as much as they can, while they can. Market value is fair.

In short, Biadaz will expect market value in his second contract and nothing less.

The real question is, should the Cowboys pay that? I may change my opinion at some point but as of now, I wouldn’t pay him because I think you can find another C in the draft or FA.

With contracts for Diggs, Parsons and Lamb looming on the near horizon, Biadaz‘s deal would have to be considered way less important.
No, but there are players that do and they ultimately make those choices. Of course administratively they shouldn't make a policy of the offer or anything but encouraging it any way possible should be a top priority. There is value is keeping a team together for the player's sake as well.

He is not all that; those bleating about making the Pro Bowl as an alternate are fools.

BUT at the same time PFF as usual is full of crap claiming there are 24 better centers then he is.

HE is serviceable and might get better; my view is that the boys will watch and see if he continues to improve this season. IF he does they will make him an offer; if he does not they let him go.
Then you may have to overpay for a service center to keep him ..or make it a top priority to get a starting center in the NFL draft. ...it would not make much sense getting a cheap bargain
vet center in FA.

Pay him? Ha, let Prescott pay him, he's loaded and he's the one that needs someone to hand him the ball.

Tyler Biadasz improved last season from previous years. 2022 was his best season so far as Center for the Cowboys. Though his PFF grade was a 61.7, he was good enough to be nominated an alternative and eventually selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2022.

Other the other hand, it sure is upsetting to see Connor Williams be cut after the 2021 season, immediately picked up by the Miami Dolphins, moved over to a position he has never played at Center, and finish the season ranked as the 3rd best overall Center with a PFF grade of 78.5.

I said several times during his first 4 years in Dallas that the Cowboys were playing him at the wrong spot (Left Guard) and how the Cowboys should have moved him to Center. They refused, cut him and the Dolphins reaped the benefits. Ugh. Cowboys seriously dropped the ball...

MIAMI DOLPHINS

C Connor Williams: 78.5 PFF grade, 1,127 offensive snaps

Williams spent his first four seasons in Dallas, primarily at left guard. He enjoyed a breakout 2021 campaign with the Cowboys year, ranking as the 10th-highest-graded guard that season (76.1) and finishing in the top 15 in both pass-blocking (81.6) and run-blocking (76.7) grades.

That breakout resumed in Miami, where Williams made the switch to center. He tied as the sixth-best center in pressure rate allowed (2.3%) while continuing to shine as a run blocker (85.2 grade). Williams placed third in that area, helping him finish the season as the third-highest-graded center overall.

So glad Joe Philbin was fired. Hope Mike Solari can do a much better job and mold this Oline into a much better Oline while best able to bring out the best of each Oline player.

Another post about how much would you pay or would you cut this guy. Wow....some fans find this more interesting than actual football games, play, scheme, depth, coaching, play calling, you know, football stuff. Lol
And it’s a topic that they know nothing about.

We have a website that spits out a few stats and *everyone* basically does the following

  • Knock 20% off the number
  • Shorten the deal to no more than 2 years
  • Guarantee less than of the total value
  • Say something about “prove it”
  • Mention “team friendly”
None of us really know anything about how to run an NFL team.

At least with the actual play on the field we “know what we see”, but even then, with stuff like interior line play, none of the fans really know what they’re looking at. They just quote. PFF score, whose methodology they don’t even bother to understand and then they echo the “pff is clueless” meme while still not understanding the metrics.

And, after whatever cockamamie contract offer they think is good enough, isn’t, they just say “well, cut him and get another”.

I’ll just go over the the magic All-Pro bush and pluck one of them off and start him tomorrow.

It's not that hard. Business 101. It's like having a piece of pie and how you're going to divide it into 53 players. Take into account an ever increasing market value for each position. You should soon be able to determine what to pay each player and who you can not afford to keep.

OL tag for 2023 is around 18-19 million.

Looking at 13-14 million per season.

4-5 years. So around 60 million. 30 guaranteed.

Let him test the market and possibly return on the cheap. Need an upgrade. I wanna at least see him in a legit position battle with Lindstrom.

They'll use an RFA tag on him before he walks.

He's gonna cost $$$ any way they go.

He played pretty well last year and has developed over the last couple of years into a serviceable starting center, I think he's a little undersized but If he's rated 25th in the league among centers, is he really a guy you want to pay long term...Lets see how this year plays out and either franchise him for a year or either use Farniak or draft another center...
Yah he was so serviceable he made the pro bowl

Big year for Biadasz. If he keeps improving he’ll get a nice contract from us or someone else. If he doesn’t and remains a serviceable but not really a better than average player and probably a little less than average for a starting OL if we are being objective, there is a good chance the same happens with him as it did the two Conners the last two years. Would be big for us if he steps up and has a great year.
He made the pro bowl. Hes already better than average. Those that doubted him have been proven dead wrong.

Especially since he's not only a starter but is only making day 3 pick salary right now.

He's played almost 50 games in the NFL (48) and has made less than 3 million dollars.

Zero chance he takes a team friendly deal given what he's been paid as of now
