He passed on Newton, Ponder and Gabbert in favor of going with Beck and Grossman as his QBs.

Yes he is and he has made some terrible moves. He's absolutely butchered the QB situation starting with bringing in McFlabb who stunk. Rex and Beck are awful too but MS is so arrogant and thinks in his system he can turn them in to good QB's, both of those guys suck and its no secret..

And he was 3-1 until he lost every single offensive weapon he had and two starting linemen. Their best offensive weapon right now is Fred Davis.

Look who they beat, the Giants missing 7 starters, the horrible Cards who they struggled with at home, and the winless Rams at the time who took them down to the wire. That 3-1 record was a HUGE JOKE and its showing now...

To be fair, he's a good coach in an impossible situation. Nobody could win with that team as it stand snow.

"Build the team up and THEN get your QB"

Which is what Shanny has been doing.

Of course there were going to be losses. The worst thing to happen was the 3-1 start. The team was in a major ditch and it'll take years to recover from it.

Beckman was not a long term solution at QB at all. Beck signed a 2 year deal last year, and Grossman a 1 year deal this offseason. Nobody seems to get that point.

I am just dissapointed the tank job didn't start in week 1. We would actually be in great shape if the Colts were giving some semblance of effort. Who knew they would be this bad

Gabbert wasn't the guy at 10. Ponder a major reach value wise at 12. Dalton in round 2 would have been excellent, but its still early and I am not sold on him being a franchise changer. I think he might max out at Matt Hasselback in his prime ability.

The Commanders need a franchise changer and those guys hopefully will be in this draft at QB. The only last year was Cam and he was picked number 1 overall

Even worse comparison than the "John Elway" Argument. Shanahan was handed the worst Commanders team in their history. They won only 4 games, despite having an NFL record 6 consecutive weeks playing winless teams...

MS and the Foreskins SUCK. His team has gotten WORSE in this his 2nd season and he picked these players. He totally threw up all over himself in handling the QB situation and he went out and paid Bowen and Cofield big loot to stop the run and teams have been running a dump truck thru them. You can come in here and justify all you want but the proof is on sundays and there yall SUCK... I live here and I can tell you, your fans are fed up and pissed off.

Amazing that Vince Tobin didn't get more coaching kudos considering he took JAKE PLUMMER to the 2nd round of the playoffs in 1998, and that was just JAKE PLUMMERS second year as a starter in the NFL.

Still, that was a great coaching feat for Shanny 8-9 years ago. No doubt.

I think Shanny is still a solid coach. i think he's probably in one of those situations where he's screwed cause he's not likely to ever live up to the expectations that have been created of him because he had a team that won back to back Superbowls with one of the top 5 QBs of all time on the team.

Shanny fielded some competitive teams, at times, after Elway but it just seems like year after year his teams just lost a bit more and got a bit worse. I'm just not sure, in the long haul, that he'll ever get himself back to where he was.

But, in reality, that's nothing new. How many coaches ever really do get one team to the top like that and then turn another team around afterwards in the NFL?

Jimmy didn't do it. Ditka didn't do it. Joe Gibbs...Holmgren...etc.

It just seems that coaches who have had major success with one team are never able to get anywhere near the same success with another one.

Did i say it was,my point was when he got to denver they already had a sb caliber team and damn you make it sound like plummer was a complete bum,i guarantee if you guys had him you would be over 500 right now.hwtr
