How often QBs throw into tight windows and their turnover worthy play rate (on all throws)

How is he elevating with stats that are worse than Dak and bigger windows?

And he has a run game.
You don't think Mahomes is a concern for defenses, more often than not?
Never said he's elevating with stats......he is elevating because he is always a threat and has some offensive dynamics that we don't have.

Now before we turn this into a Dak hate.....there is no comparison to make with Mahomes, unquestionably. Not comparing.

I just want to know what QB could turn the 'Boys into a contender with the given flaws on this offense alone?
Josh Allen? Lamar? Joe Burrows? Jayden Daniels?..........who?

If the NFL had the advanced statistics back in the 90's then Troy Aikman would be worshiped like a god.

Michael Irvin could have two DB's draped around him and Troy would split the 8's on his jersey.

Typically, Troy was ready to throw by his last backpedaled step.
You say something like this, yet Troy himself said how bad the route tree/play design is in the offense.

This chart shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who watches the games. 75% of the routes run are either curls or go routes. There’s 0 creativity to our offense and the scheme makes no attempts to actually get WR’s open.

And yes, 2 things can be true at the same time. The offense is terrible AND Dak needs to play much better.

this shows one of fewthings, either the cowboys WRs have trouble getting open and based on what I have seen from Turpin, its very true. also doubling CD who is WR1, and/or Dak is late with throws...or combination of all of the above.
Also less time to throw, which means less time for WR's to get open and shorter routes.

Without looking at each play, I can adreess this.

”Tight windows” is possibly the most deceiving stat in football if taken as true…with no analysis

Maybe at the verybest spotin their routes nobody really is open
Maybe the ball was thrown too early or late
Maybe the ball was thrown to the wrong guy
Maybe the office is designed for quick hitting tightthrow
etc
etc

C'mon Chasing6. No one? All good.

In that case, the blame goes to the GM.....that guy. Jerry has gone mad like Dr. Frankenstein.

He sabotaged this team from the beginning and got the board angry with one player, for the most part. He's the same guy that prolongs contract negotiations that could have saved more money or reduced market value. He's got the board angry at a player who was brought back.....did it with Witten too instead of moving forward. He's the one that selected or stamped approval for a DT that is in bust mode and a TE that we're still waiting to do something. He got stuck on Michigan.

He is getting poised to select our next HC that doesn't have experience in the role (Kellen Moore). He is the same guy that didn't even invite Henry to the Star to just talk and see.

He is the same guy that allowed a player with the "flu" to walk around and possibly infect everybody too. He is the same guy, with his coaches, thinking one WR can have high targets and a defense wouldn't adjust. He is the same guy, with his coaches, thinking WRs under 6 ft, can outduel jump balls. He is the same guy thinking his coaches are on to something with the play calling in the redzone. He is the same guy, with his coaches, thinking our predictable play calling is confusing the defense, much less the blind. Still left meat on the bone. This is just the offensive side......and it's offensive. I could have gone on further.

So Dak is making a lot of tight window throws and that ration of TWTs to turnover worthy plays is in his favor.

I think there are two reasons for this. First, the Cowboys force the ball to CeeDee whether he is open or not. That has to stop. Second, no one is getting open. That too has been pretty obvious.

But t is not surprising either. We have basically 1 WR, which is CeeDee.

But at the same time we have seen Dak's INTs. It is hard to argue he is playing well this year. His throws have been terrible on those INTs.

My only conclusion from this chart is the whole offense stinks.

...and what does the scale on the y-axis even mean? Why do the numbers decrease as you go up?
Why is 0.06 at the bottom and 0.02 at the top? Seems that 0.02 turnover worthy plays would be better than 0.06, no? Is a higher or lower number better?
To me it looks like Dak has a higher tendency to throw into tight windows, and has a higher percentage of turnover worthy plays when he does.

Just watching him from week to week, he hesitates too long and seems to throw into windows that were open and already starting to close, rather than throwing in anticipation of the window coming open.

I think if Dak would help in the run game...a couple designed and a couple take offs.....it would help keep some defense in.
Agreed.

Too bad it's obvious Jerry is holding Dak back from running with the football thanks in part to the new $240 million fully guaranteed contract.

I don;t see how. Dak's instincts, and possibly physical condition.... have been hampered...not by Jerry.

I took this from one of the comments..."And *** Dak???? Is this a result of McCarthy's high school offense?"
