He should be there around the 28th pick.
But also Harris will be too.
I am not one for undersized players. Especially at DE.

I still think if there is a SS available when we pick and he is close to being a player we have on the board about equal with a DE. I am thinking we take the SS.

Maybe I'm gullible but... I'm buying my ticket on the Jabril Peppers bandwagon. He's definitely got that A type personality that the Defense needs. Guys like Jones and Lee are good players but I want some dogs that bite. With the talent to back it up.

he seems to have straight ahead speed but not much agility.
would have to trade up to get someone with both and good performance against high level competition.
willis has speed and agility but has bad tape blamed on lack of moves due to playing as lde
rivers has speed and agility but played against low level competition.
harris is slow.
watt has some injury history.

it would be nice if we can come out of the draft with watt and willis, even if we have to trade up from 60.
drafting 2 prospects improve the chances that 1 works out and is not injured in the rookie campaign.

we can get dbs in the later round.
war daddy comes first.

I don't think Harris is there. He dominated LB drills and is getting a lot of hype. When he's on I don't know if there's a quicker guy off the ball outside of Garrett.

I wouldn't be surprised if a 3-4 team takes him over Taco/McKinley.

Id be okay with McKinley i guess. His height isnt a big deal considering hes got almost 35 inch arms.

I know we've met with Takk a few times now, but lets not get crazy. We also just set up a meeting with Basham and have a lot of interest in Willis as well

If I've got to choose between Harris and McKinnely, I choose Tak all day, everyday and twice on Sundays.

The guy has a motor that doesn't quit and that's a primary difference-making trait in my mind.

I think both guys are a bit undersized for a 43 DE but I think Tak is better suited to make the transition. Harris needs to be standing up and a cleaner path to the QB; he's also fluid in space which suits him better as a 34 OLB.

I really like the idea of Takk. It sucks that he'll likely miss camp but I want so did Collins. It's a need, and he would likely be BPA at that point. Sign me up!

The closer we get to the draft, the less talented a lot of these d-line prospects look. I'm really not impressed with anyone outside of Garrett. Even at 28, I don't see a DE being BPA. I don't want to force a DL pick just because it's a need. Keep doing what we have been doing and don't try to force it.

I haven't gotten the feel yet where players will slot but I like Jabrill and I like Malik Hooker.Hooker wont be there and maybe Peppers wont either.
WE can pick a second round DE that isnt much different from the low 1st rd DE talent

I'm right there with you. Plug him into Church's spot and you have a day-1 difference maker on this defense. If he's there it really is a no brainer. Put him in the slot on the corner blitzes. Let him cover the TE's and RB's so Jones can stay back up top. This guy is a difference maker. You draft him and find ways to get him into position. If you can't do that with a player like this, you're in the wrong field.

I really want to use the first two round picks on CB and SS. We don't need an every down DE. We need another piece to the rotation. Once we figure out what we have with Mayowa, Irving, Tapper, DLaw, Moore and possibly even Gregory plus whatever rotational piece we add this year then if we still need a DE we can go for it next year. We might be surprised to find out what we already have is pretty good but needed time to gel.

McKinley? are we talking about how he fits into the Cowboys plans in 2018?

When watching a game, I often yell at the screen "PASS"....pre-draft, I yell almost as much "PASS"

Barnett impressed me but it doesn't mean anything because he's not in our range. But I agree. I just want am impact player and starter, no matter the position, though ideally defence.

I'm not even impressed with Barnett as far as pass rushers go. I think he's very similar to Lawrence and Irving. I want a guy screaming off the corner, not another dude who's going to run to the OL. If we didn't have Irving/Lawrence, I would be bigger on Barnett though.
