They matter some but lots of guys come out and have good size or speed but can’t play football. If size made you a player then every giant man would be in the nfl. If speed made you a player every track star would be in the nfl

IMO, Kelvin Joseph had THE most clutch play of the season, which shows he's capable of contributing in big games.

No way you give up on him now.

I would try him out in the slot. I think he would thrive there.

The only thing keeping Joseph in the league is his draft position and Jerry's historical reluctance to admit errors in judgement.

His draft position is what keeps him in the discussion as a guy to develop.
But he won't be cut on his rookie contract for on the field performance. His basic athleticism has value on special teams, and he should only improve his corner skills. Too cheap to cut.

The guy played well in the slot two years ago, sparingly. He has played well on the outside in limited action.
He got beaten badly on a double move and wasn’t even given a second chance. I’m guessing he didn’t stand up to some hard coaching, but none of us really knows. I think he will get a strong look next training camp to see if he can hold down a spot inside or outside, but we will definitely look at another player, maybe 2, vis the draft.

This usually happens when you don't get snaps and get thrown into the fire. Some players like Joseph cant handle it. Then there are players like Bland who can. I think Joseph will be OK if they set his role and prepare him for it

How did Jerry not trade backup RB Tashard Choice for a prime Antonio Cromartie when the trade was offered? How did Jerry not take a 2nd for Mike Jenkins when he was going to be cut anyway?

Mistake after mistake after mistake. We keep losing in the playoffs because we can't stop the run. Any football guy knows we need to shore up the DLine. Jerry does not understand that.
