How well is Dak doing against Parcell's 11 commandments after 7 years

Many members of this forum only see the stats and think Dak is the best thing since sliced bread.

Stats are mandatory for people who don't understand football to talk about football.

Troy Aikman would get the team down field with passing at times (along with Emmitt runs), and Emmitt took over from there. Troy didn't care about a passing TD, as long as they got the TD.

How many times did Irvin get tackled inside the 5, and at the 1, only for Emmitt to score. No one complained. But then they had real OC in Turner.

I am sure if this place was open back then, some would have.

So you throw 2 TDs and lose 21-17. Why?
Because you missed big throws that were there. You held the ball when your receiver had a step and took a strip sack. You miss easy throws on critical 3rd downs.
You zero in on your receiver trying to throw a out, but miss the DB closing.
CB is playing off 10-12 yds but you won't throw the quick slant or out because you don't trust your arm.

These cost games but don't always show in stats.

The Cowboys would be a lot better if he was a game manager.. Hard to lead the league in picks when you get 20 attempts a game.. So is missing 5 games and still leading the league.. So never say never?

15 INTs where at least 6 were on the WRs. Still, 15 INTs isn't as bad as previous QBs threw in a season, but there wasn't as much condemnation against those QBs as there now is against Dak. I wonder why? Hmm...

At first, you Dak critics used to get upset about how Dak wasn't a passing QB and how he was just a game manager with no arm talent. Now, since the past 4+ years with Dak lighting it up with the pass, you all are saying the exact opposite how Dak needs to stop passing for big yards because he's supposedly selfish, but instead, now he just needs to be a game manager. I actually don't know what you are trying to say. Dak has ALWAYS been a 'bus driver/game manager' QB. He was a 4th round back up that got handed a championship level team to baby sit and then our stupid coaches and FO fell in love with a 'story' and the next 7 years of misery is down to that.

Dak has NEVER been an elite QB that will win you games on his arm. He is a game manager through and through. The more we try to make him 'the man'.. the more he fails.

My view on dak has been very consistent.. he is an above average QB. In a run first offence, with lots of weapons around him and a stellar support cast.. he is good enough to win a SB... BUT he is not good enough to be a SB winning QB now that you are paying him a stupid cap number and trying to use him as a 'star QB'.

And now.. due to his cap hit and the increased pick rate.. Dude has moved from 'manageable' to 'trash'.

Dak Prescott will never win anything of note as the QB of the Cowboys. The question is whether you are ok with that.

Then talk seriously.. Dak is an epic failure. A costly 7 year mistake that we are trapped in for at least another 2 years. The rest of the league are laughing at us.. and not a single serious contender.. not one.. is worried about facing Dak at QB.

So let's get serious.. Mahomes suddenly decides he wants out of KC right now.. how many times come hunting? Hurts wants to move on.. how many? Allen gets moved on.. Burrow.. Watson?? All of them would create a feeding frenzy.

Dak goes on the market tomorrow.. at his contract price.. who (and BE HONEST now) comes looking? Tell me one serious contending team that would feel Dak is an upgrade? or put it the other way.. If you took our roster this season.. and swapped Dak (and only Dak) out for Mahomes, Hurts, Burrow, Wilson, Brady, Rodgers, Allen, Herbert, Lawrence, Jackson... then I think we would have gone further. Then flip it the other way.. if you put Dak in their respective teams.. does he do better or worse?

You will argue some nonsense.. and that is fine.. but anyone with a football brain and eyes.. knows that Dak would be a downgrade.

So there is no debate across the league that Dak is now a guy that is around the 12th-15th best QB in the league.. but getting paid top 2 money. That equation will not work to win a SB. It can't work. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings but it is the truth. Everyone, bar the most extreme of Dak lovers, can now see the ugly truth.

Dak would give you a shot at success if he was being paid medium money to be a competent bus driver.. he would. However.. he is not elite, will never be elite.. and will never give the Cowboys a chance of winning because we over valued and over paid him.
