How well is Dak doing against Parcell's 11 commandments after 7 years

This rule makes absolutely no sense...

9. Passing stats and TD passes are not how you're gonna be judged. Your job is to get your team in the endzone and that's how you're gonna be judged.

Uhhh, hello? To get into the endzone, you need good passing stats and accumulated TDs, unless all you plan on doing is running the ball. Good luck with that since you would need one of the best Olines and RBs.
Who cares?
As long as Dak is top 10, you're good, right?

Then talk seriously.. Dak is an epic failure. A costly 7 year mistake that we are trapped in for at least another 2 years. The rest of the league are laughing at us.. and not a single serious contender.. not one.. is worried about facing Dak at QB.

So let's get serious.. Mahomes suddenly decides he wants out of KC right now.. how many times come hunting? Hurts wants to move on.. how many? Allen gets moved on.. Burrow.. Watson?? All of them would create a feeding frenzy.

Dak goes on the market tomorrow.. at his contract price.. who (and BE HONEST now) comes looking? Tell me one serious contending team that would feel Dak is an upgrade? or put it the other way.. If you took our roster this season.. and swapped Dak (and only Dak) out for Mahomes, Hurts, Burrow, Wilson, Brady, Rodgers, Allen, Herbert, Lawrence, Jackson... then I think we would have gone further. Then flip it the other way.. if you put Dak in their respective teams.. does he do better or worse?

You will argue some nonsense.. and that is fine.. but anyone with a football brain and eyes.. knows that Dak would be a downgrade.

So there is no debate across the league that Dak is now a guy that is around the 12th-15th best QB in the league.. but getting paid top 2 money. That equation will not work to win a SB. It can't work. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings but it is the truth. Everyone, bar the most extreme of Dak lovers, can now see the ugly truth.

Dak would give you a shot at success if he was being paid medium money to be a competent bus driver.. he would. However.. he is not elite, will never be elite.. and will never give the Cowboys a chance of winning because we over valued and over paid him.
Lmao! What a joke. All I hear is someone crying his butthurt feelings on CZ for all to see. Get a grip, dude, or stop watching. It's that simple. Half of the teams in this league would jump to pick up Dak over the QBs they have. That's 16 teams in case you didn't know. I won't argue with Dak is overpaid (as are all top QBs), but Dak is here to stay BECAUSE OF HIS PLAY.

Wow, wonder how long Parcells would have lasted with Prescott as his QB....he would have demanded Jerry to get rid of him and get a real franchise QB. Would have loved to see him in Prescott's ear after another pick 6.

Came across this, an interesting read to see how well Dak has held up............ think he's done pretty well with most but some inconsistency with #7 and 8 but a number of factors ( not all the QB's fault ) can impact their outcome also.

https://insidethestar.com/bill-parcels-11-quarterback-commandments-2/#:~:text=Personnel, play call, motions,,you're gonna be judged.
BILL PARCELS’ 11 QUARTERBACK COMMANDMENTS

  1. Press or TV agents or advisers, family or wives, friends or relatives, fans or hangers-on, ignore them on matters of football, they don't know what's happening here.
  2. Don't forget to have fun, but don't be the class clown. Clowns and leaders don't mix. Clowns can't run a huddle.
  3. A quarterback throws with his legs more than his arms. Squat and run. Fat quarterbacks can't avoid the rush.
  4. Know your job cold. This is not a game without errors. Keep yours to a minimum. Study.
  5. Know your own players. Who's fast? Who can catch? Who needs encouragement? Be precise. Know your opponent.
  6. Be the same guy every day. In condition, preparing to lead, studying your plan. A coach can't prepare you for every eventuality. Prepare yourself and remember, impulse decisions usually equal mistakes.
  7. Throwing the ball away is a good play. Sacks, interceptions, and fumbles are bad plays. Protect against those.
  8. You must learn to manage the game. Personnel, play call, motions, ball handling, proper reads, accurate throws, play fakes. Clock, clock, clock, don't you ever lose track of the clock.
  9. Passing stats and TD passes are not how you're gonna be judged. Your job is to get your team in the endzone and that's how you're gonna be judged.
  10. When all around you is in chaos, you must be the hand that steers the ship. If you have a panic button, so will everyone else. Our ship can't have panic buttons.
  11. Don't be a celebrity quarterback. We don't need any of those. We need battlefield commanders that are willing to fight it out every day, every week, and every season, and lead their team to win after win after win.
Yep....now try that Angry Old Man Coaching style on 21st Century Professional NFL players with access to the World on their cell phones...

Any doubt most Dak Haters would be clueless if a player extended a pound!!!:muttley::facepalm:

Has Dak ever been the type who worries about his passing stats? Serious question.
I didnt suggest he was. Parsels sayings werent directed at any 1 qb. In fact i think many qb's are better at being able to run the ball for a td than in parcells time. Just my opinion though. And if he was coach8ng today he might rephrase this saying to account for that.

Ha! Parcells finally caved and allowed Romo to start 1/3rd of the way through the 2006 season. Romo messed up so bad, Parcells threw his hands up in the air, gave up and quit coaching for good after the season ended.

Romo was so good Parcells Quit!!

Do you think Parcells would have survived Romo's Endzone INT to RW McQuarters??? You know Patrick Crayton's fault:lmao:

Put Dak in an Iggles uniform and they're sitting at home watching the super bowl. I would put money on it.

Romo destroyed the list after Bill left. Probably was blown up with Texas Stadium when it was demolished.
jones boys had that and all parcells notes thrown away when he retired..
no need for those notes!

How well did Parcells do with this team, since he seems to be the answer for some people here?

Parcells bailed because of Romo. I am not knocking Romo, but his style of play would have flown in the face of what Parcells thinks a QB should be. The Cowboys were not going to let go of Romo and Parcells saw the fight in the future he would have to take on with Jerry would make him look like a puppet when Jerry pulled rank with Romo.

My biggest complaint about Parcells was his outdated idea of how to run the team, and the overly conservative aspects on both sides of the ball.

I still think his leaving was a gutless move to keep in tact his legacy, because he saw the writing on the wall. Romo would never be Phil Simms and kiss his ring daily. And Jerry would not send Romo packing and get Parcells a sycophant QB to run his 1948 offensive game calling.

Bill "I Quit" Parcells took his ball and went home. I, for one, did not miss him in the least.

Aren't these some of the same commandments that beloved TRomo failed at, and got no entry to an NFC Championship Game as well?

It is really funny to me that some people honestly think that Parcells left because of Romo.

The guy had to deal with years of butting heads with Jerry and had to coach a player he refused to call by name, but Romo was the issue?

The telling thing is other teams are able...or willing?.... to shed the QB mistakes. Jerry just can;t seem to do that unless there's some mystical moment that he can pretend to distract fans from. Two things Jerry the Moron. has said or decided:

2016: "dak is winning we don't want to jinx his success."
2019: "Kellen moore will learn on the job"
