I'll predict a playoff win.

Then they have to face GB or Seattle.

Seattle will be harder next time around.

All games will be harder because the intensity level is much higher, however I think Dallas matches up very well with Seahawks, we can play the physical game.

Depends on our seed. Obviously a 1st round BYE would be huge. Most likely, we will host the Lions in the first round. I see the Boys getting past the Lions and then going to Green Bay. I don't see the Boys winning that one... I hope I'm wrong.

yea, I agree with you. And I fully admit, I was worried about the Colts game. A little less worried, though, after I heard Hilton wouldn't be playing. I don't put anything beyond this team to accomplish. Was just being honest about my 2 concerns. I would rather face GB here, than in GB though.

I'll take them in either spot. Tony is from the cold and winning in winter revolves around the running game. I'd put my money on Dallas for that battle.

I think Seattle is the best NFC team and N.E. Is the best in the AFC. Yet, as we all know, sometimes it comes down to effiency and making minimal mistakes. It's any given Sunday. I think we've as good a shot as any.

From Wikipedia:

In 2005 Plummer experienced arguably his best season as a professional. Most notable was his streak of 229 passes without an interception, the longest such streak of his career.

The Broncos finished 2nd in rushing yards (only the Falcons gained more yards by 7 and had Mike Vick to gain those yards) and gained 4.7 yards a carry.

And they were 1st in TOP that year at 32:40 per game.

So yeah, it is a great comparison. You just don't have a clue.

Were is the wikipedia reference where it says Plummer was as experienced as Romo? Oh, thats right, it doesn't. Again, two completely different situations. In fact, Id say the 2007 Cowboys are more similar to that Denver team than this team. Attitude and maturity matters. Can't just be a stats bandit.

You claimed things about the 2005 Broncos teams that were statistically based (couldn't run the ball as well, couldn't control time of possession). When I showed the actual stats that your statements were untrue, now it's 'can't just be a stats bandit.' It's just and excuse that you are using to ignore that you were trying to use a stats argument and you were wrong.

And in 2005, Plummer was in his 9th year in the league (and as a starter). Romo is in his 12th year in the league and his 9th year as a starter.

The 2007 Cowboys were nowhere near the same type of team as the 2005 Broncos. The '07 Cowboys couldn't run the ball anywhere as effectively.

Okay, I know I'm jumping the gun. But, hey, shoot me. We're in the playoffs so it's not like I'm totally getting ahead of myself.

But I did want to ask this question. From a percentage standpoint, how would you rank our chances of getting to the Super Bowl?

I'd put us at 90 percent.
In the previous season with this team, I wasn't too confident in our chances to get to the Super Bowl, even in 2007. I just didn't trust the coaching staff at that time.

But this year feels different. I don't know if I'm completely on the bandwagon for Garrett, but I do like the approach to the run. I have major confidence in the offensive line, and Romo and Witten seem to have that steely resolve that they're determine not to blow this chance. I think the Cowboys may be a bit more desperate than the Packers (who've been there) and the Seahawks (ditto). And they have a style of play that succeeds during the playoffs.

So I put our chances high.

What say ye?

I think 50%/50%.

And I think it improves each game going forward.

The hardest win will be the first playoff game.

This team has shown they can put together 3 game win streaks..

which is what it will take to advance to the SB.

I think they have a loss ahead with the Commanders..

which will quiet all the bandwagon going on right now..

and the team can relax and refocus on the playoffs.

Rather see a loss now and not be trying to put together a 7 game winning streak to get to the SB.

If we are going to take a loss..

Better now and not later.

We'll see.

If we stay in the 3rd spot our best draw would be if GB beats Det, AZ wins and Sea loses. Under that scenario we play Det at home, travel to AZ, and get the winner of GB vs Sea either at GB or home vs Sea.

I prefer Detroit, but am real leery of Megatron against our secondary. Our last couple of meetings against them have ended abysmally but I think it's a better matchup for us than GB.

Actually... I take that back. If they playoffs started with the same seed order as it stands today, I would say the stars would have aligned for us.

Beat AZ at home, beat DET on the road, let SEA take care of GB, and then beat SEA

Im not overly convinced this team is quite there so the probabilities i chose are in favor of our possible opponents.

If we play AZ, DET, SEA i'd say

AZ=40% win chance
DET=40% ...
SEA=50% ...

40%*40%*50% = 8%.

So we have a 8% chance to reach the SB IMO.

You would favor Arizona over us in a playoff matchup right now? Thats crazy.

Nobody expected the Giants to win in 2007. Anything can happen. One thing is that the Cowboys are playing their best ball of the year. I don't want to get too high. I've been disappointed so many times but it's hard sometimes.

AZ has everything on defense to make our offense look bad.
They beat us bad the first time and i am not so sure Romo would have made a such big difference like we would have beaten them the way we did with the colts.

The win against the colts last week does not tell much about our strength. The colts clearly did not have much will to play their best game.
The loss last week AZ took i think SEA rigth now is playing really good and AZ did not have their best day.

SEA is playing great football in recent weeks. They are not a one hit wonder.
AZ played convincing over the whole season. They are not the best team in the playoffs but they are good.
We are a good football team. And i hope and i think we are able to beat every team in the playoffs. But i cant ignore the whole season just because AZ hd one bad game last week or the colts took there bye week against us.

So i would say a realisitc (i admit a bit pessimistic) approach but not crazy.

Yup, really ideal. Of course, I see only one of those actually happening (GB over Detroit) but we'll see.

One thing is for sure - if we go on the most likely path and beat Detroit, Green Bay, Seattle and New England, we will have earned it.

Arizona would either be playing with a 3rd string QB, or a backup with a gimpy knee, against Romo, who is getting a lot of support for league MVP, and you don't see anything wrong with your probability?
