How would you rank our chances of getting to the Super Bowl?

Yes, an exceptional running team that got a great year from a QB and a suspect defense to go 13-3.

Crazy, I know.

Horrible comparison. Plummer was no where close to league MVP. Did the Broncos running back lead the league in rushing yards? Did Denver have the ability to absolutely control TOP? Yeah, great comparison.

Unfortunately, I do not see the Rams going into Seattle and winning................I also don't see the Lions (who almost lost to Jimmy Clausen and the Bears) going into Lambeau where the Pack is undefeated this season.

So that leaves us with the following road to Arizona...................host Detroit................@ Green Bay................@ Seattle (in all likelihood)

Dam, that is a hard road to travel, but it is what it is...............and to think, if we would have beat Colt McCoy we would be the number one seed right now with a chance to lock up homefield in Washington..............Talk about a kick to the nuts.

Looks like to get to the SB we will have to win at Green Bay and at Seattle, assuming we win the WC. Brutal.

Realistically, probably a 1 in 4 chance. If we had a bye, I'd say 1 in 2.

I'd love to meet the Patriots in the SB. That would be a great game.

Somebody is going to meet the Patriots in the SB because the rest of the AFC "contenders" are total shams. The entire lot of them. I have never seen an easier path to the SB than the one the Patriots are about to take. I'm willing to bet they win their two playoff games by an average of 20+ points.

With that said, I think there are three NFC teams that would give the Patriots a real run for their money in the SB - the Seahawks, Cowboys and Packers. On the NFC side, I'm pretty convinced that the Seahawks would shut down Rodgers and Co. in a rematch, especially if the game is in Seattle. Which it would be because Seattle is getting the number one seed. The one matchup I'm most curious about is Cowboys-Packers. I give the Packers slightly better odds against us than against Seattle because we can't generate quite the same pass rush intensity that Seattle can and giving Rodgers a single second longer in the pocket could make all the difference. Plus the game will be at Lambeau. But if we were to get past that game? Prepare for a war in Seattle because that would be a game for the ages.

My predictions:

Detroit (20) at Dallas (37)
Arizona (20) at Atlanta (17)

Dallas (34) at Green Bay (28)
Arizona (13) at Seattle (27)

Dallas (27) at Seattle (24)

Dallas (31) vs. New England (27)

From Wikipedia:

In 2005 Plummer experienced arguably his best season as a professional. Most notable was his streak of 229 passes without an interception, the longest such streak of his career.

The Broncos finished 2nd in rushing yards (only the Falcons gained more yards by 7 and had Mike Vick to gain those yards) and gained 4.7 yards a carry.

And they were 1st in TOP that year at 32:40 per game.

So yeah, it is a great comparison. You just don't have a clue.

Bold young man, Bold!! Arizona from what I am reading could be our first game. So, with that piece of information I give the Cowboys a 75% chance of winning against either Detroit or Arizona. Dallas 27 - Other 20
Dallas at Green Bay - This would our Waterloo. I am hoping that we do NOT go to Green Bay. Green Bay 34 - Dallas 21.
If we get to the DR at Seattle this would be decided in the last two minutes - Dallas 21 - Seattle 17.
SB is a stretch for us but a game against NE would be more of a shoot off - Dallas 41 - NE 35

Only 2 teams that worry me are seattle and gb. But even if you get to the sb you have to play patriots or broncos. Going to be tough but we can make a run.

33.3%. Let's face it, the NFC will be represented by either the Seahawks, Cowboys, or Packers. I feel like all 3 of these teams are very even in skill as well. The only thing is we will have to play both of them at home if we get past Detroit. That is a big uphill battle. Out of the 3 teams, the Seahawks and Cowboys are getting hot at the right time.

Um, kind of delusional. 90%, I think not. Doesn't mean you will not make it, that is another story. You have some tough teams to get through. And let's watch home field advantage first. Take nothing for granted except the the next game. One game at a time. I like our chances too, but one game, just one and it is over. Just be grateful you are in the hunt, and enjoy it.

The whole concept of being a fan (which is short for the word, fanatical) is delusional, as is living vicariously through others so much so that our entire emotions are altered based on whether our team is victorious or not.

So take a number and get in line. :)

Seattle just does not strike fear in me. I think Dallas matches up well with them. They do not have a passing game that is great, contain Wilson and stop Lynch are the main factor. Defense, Seattle is fast and aggressive and Dallas OL like last time should be able to blow them off the line. Sherman vs Dez bring it on, other players have also been stepping on for Dallas like Cole Beasly. I would be more concerned with fast strike offense than I would with Seahawks.

Since you ask what our chances are of reaching the SB, I'll make up a percentage:

15% chance we reach the SB.

I think the first round will be our biggest challenge--most of our players have never been there, and it's another monkey on the back of those who have.

If we can win in round one, I think our chances of reaching the SB move up to around 40%.

As has been mentioned, we are going to have to beat the Lions at home and probably go on the road and beat the Packers and the Seahawks.

That's brutal, but that's what has to be done to be the champs.

We can do it, but success in the playoffs entails a lot of things and the bounce of the ball and luck are some of them. We have the football team to play in cold weather and we have already won in Seattle so we know that we are capable of doing it.

I guess I just worry about going up to Green Bay the most. It'll be cold and we are starting to pass teams off the field when they crowd the line and if they back off we run the ball down team's throats. Up there in Green Bay, it'll be tough throwing the ball but Aaron Rodgers has done it for years now.

I think we have a 30% chance.

I agree with the OP, 80-90%. We're coming on hot at the right time of year, it's a different Romo, a swarming defense. The best team in the league easily.

I think Dallas can beat Green Bay. I think Dallas can beat New England or Denver should they get to the big dance.

To me, Seattle is the primary obstacle.

I like our chances against anyone. Especially if the defense keeps up the level of play we've seen in the last month. Outside of garbage time against Chicago and a couple blown assignments in Philly the defense has been outstanding, the Dline has come alive and harassed the last 3 QBs we've played.

If we make it to the super bowl, the most likely QBs to be there are more or less statues

There's nothing for it now that seeding is basically worked out. But there are a couple of really cool potential road games there for us if we can manage to keep winning. Can you imagine getting past the first round and then going to GB or SEA for the postseason? With a final game of NE or, say, PIT waiting for us at the end? It'd be kind of fun to run a gauntlet like that the way the Giants did in 2007. Hypotheticallly, of course.

Haven't thought about it yet.
So I will give the standard answer no one wants to hear...LOL

I will wait until all the seeding is done, and playoff picture is clear......

But I do like our chances to win it all...:)

To go into Green Bay and Seattle in one playoff season and win would be incredibly difficult, and I wouldn't hold it against the organization if it falls short.

I do think we should at least reach the NFC Championship game though.

Cowboys at Seattle in the NFCCG.....................................Ohhhhh nellie we got a barn burner...

I think I would enjoy beating the Seahawks in the NFCCG, more then winning the Super Bowl.

Its going to be really fun watching this Cowboys team play in the Playoffs.....

is there anything better?

That 'like' is for the first half of that post. Would be a great rematch. But gotta say I'd enjoy another Super Bowl more.
