Some of that was because Schultz missed time.

Yup. But with Schultz gone, two 2 year players and 1 rookie, it's not like the depth chart is set in stone, and the coaches could want more of a rotation at first till Schoon gets up to speed

Let's not kid ourselves, 3 TE formation is more of a mismatch if Luepke is out there as one of the 3 or in the backfield.

I agree. I want Hunter to stay but I also get if the coaches want McKeon.
That being said they can always try to get Sean to the PS and then use him as a callup.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why you would risk losing a contributing Swiss Army Knife in favor of a FOURTH TE (Sean McKeon) who will NEVER see the field??? This is such flawed logic!!!
Lol Sean will see the field more than leupke. Sean won't touch the football much but leupke wouldn't either. I like the idea of a FB but seriously you gonna take touches away from Pollard, deuce or dowdle? The coaches say no.

When they really need a short yardage 1st down, Luepke would be my 1st choice.
When they need good pass protection for Dak, Luepke is a good choice.
I like Dowdle, but I think I like Luepke better.
Hunter is a good receiver and he's a power runner.

Have difficulty believing Luepke's ready to contribute. Have no difficulty believing McKeon will contribute. Certainly Luepke has the higher ceiling, but he had all of training camp to distinguish himself, and did not apparently. Then, he certainly had himself a night on Saturday agaisnt LVR's 2s and 3s, but... 2s and 3s. Think there may be some overreaction as a result. To be fair, I do think you have to be strategic, of course, and really do a team-by-team analysis of the handful of teams that would have a genuine FB role in their offenses... which of them if any are looking for someone right now, or do they have someone already they're satisfied with. Want to keep Luepke, absolutely. But feel more of a need for 2023 to keep McKeon.
It wasn't his fault that he saw little to no action the first two (2) games....and we have no idea what he could actually show with our starting OL.

Dowdle is JAG.

I don't know why so many people think Luepke is indispensable.

He will make it onto the practice squad. I don't know if there are all that many teams that need a 4th running back so badly they will poach him. Most have their own versions of Hunter Luepke that did some nice things in camp for them.

I really don’t get all the Hendershot love. I’d rather have Luepke than him. McKeon does the dirty work better than Hendershot and is as reliable of a receiving option.

Because Luepke is more CZ myth than actual player?
Leupke is more likely to be the third RB than the 4th. Team could go with Pollard, Deuce and Leupke and call it a day.

That’s what I would do, at least initially and retrieve one or both of Dowdle and David if they clear waivers.

McKeon is toast. He was unimpressive against the Raiders. They're not keeping 4 TE. I hope they keep Luepke, but they will go 3 TE either way. Cut Turpin if you need a spot.

Dallas plays many two TE sets. Having only 3 TEs could be an issue.

UH, so a Fish projection counts as a verified source?
He counts much more than anyone here. Fish spends a lot of time at the Star and does talk to coaches, FO (both on the record and off)
