Hurd Couldn't get Separation

Was listening to Mickey Spagnola this morning and he mentioned one of the reasons Romo was holding the ball was that Hurd couldn't get separation. Think he then said that we missed Crayton in this game. I thought Hurd was supposed to be faster then Crayton or maybe it had nothing to do with speed but more to do with Crayton's experience at WR.

No mention was made about Miles Austin (who caught 2 passes) and who I thought was supposedly faster then Hurd.

Anyway hopefully Crayton back and ready to play against the Packers cause we'll need him. Obviously Glenn wouldn't be ready to play now but hopefully maybe he can get on the field against the Eagles or at least against the Panthers.

We need a speedy number 2 reciever on the field.

Does anyone know if we have a guy like that anywhere around the ranch?

Hurd was open for 6 and Romo just flatout missed him. Actually, Romo missed several throws yesterday that would've gone for TD's. Witten said that Romo hurt his pinky finger and couldn't grip the wet ball very well....

Yah on the TO touchdown hurd was wide open down the middle of the field. And the underthrown ball to Witten. The score could have been alot more ulgy then it was.

yeah he under threw Witten on the one play that would have been a TD,seemed like something was wrong. This game could have been uglier for the Jets:D

i like that austin guy when he gets the ball though...really felt like he may do something with it...more than crayton to tell you the truth...now his passcatching skills may be in question...i dont know

Why? I don't see him going anywhere.
1. TO
2. TG
3. Crayton
4. Draft Pick
5. Stanback
6. Austin

Either Crayton, TG, or Hurd is gone. If we don't re-sign Crayton or TG doesn't come back, he could stick around.

But I think we've seen enough of him to know he'll never be a solid #2.

I dobut Hurd's on the team next season.

Ummmm... I bet he is still on the team there buddy. he's still a young reciever learning the game. Just because he wasnt able to capitalize on the opportunnity in the Jets game doesn't mean throw him to the junk pile.

I bet he's around next year, not sure about TG tho...

Hey, buddy, this has been evident in more than just the Jets game. He hasn't been playing well all season. He just can't get open.

he's an undrafted free agent...he's done ok in spots, but he is not a starter and doesnt look like he'll ever be one right now

despite Jones' contention that he loves the potential of Hurd and Austin, if he and the rest of the franchise was confident in them then Glenn would have been out on IR before the season started

which goes back to my point he's still learning the position in the NFL. When he gets open he does a pretty good job of making the catch and making difficult catches and that is evident also. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Oh definitely, he's got great hands and good body control. He's a smart kid that knows how to be a receiver. He runs nice routes and he's great at the LOS getting off the defender.

But he's just not quite physically gifted enough to get separation consistently and be a successful WR. If you combine Austin's physical ability and Hurd's hands and head, you'd have a damn good WR.

Could you do that for us? Thanks.
