Hurt Longterm

Have you not seen the past two year drafts? Again, buying the pyrite.
Like most teams, the Cowboys drafts are up and down. But, over the long term, they have had more success with picks than MOST teams.

Cavanaugh/Braoddus both say it is GREAT to win meaningless games but this is hurting the team overall. The offense is poor and lacks scoring ability.

"So while short-term Dallas fans wants wins now, hurts the future team. Dallas is playing their way out of better players."

Then they both stated: "Dallas has a phobia with DL. If you taken Hutchinson instead of Taco, you have a better taste with Michigan players"

Those two are talking out of the sides of their mouths, they're just trying to keep people listening. we have a lot of talent on this team

I think you just post this stuff to get blowback. You know better than a lot of the stuff you post. This organization has been destroyed by JJ and Co. They should rename the team the participation trophy JJs.
How is a team that went 12 and 5 three straight years Destroyed? They sure don't look destroyed.

Drafting 8th allows you to trade down to 15th or later while you pick up an extra 3rd or 4th and 5th round picks, something the Cowboys seriously need since Jerry has already traded away our early 4th and 6th round picks on bum players.
doesn't matter, you still need to take the right player
In 2019 had we lost a few more games, we probably don't end up with Micah Parsons. Patrick Surtain wouldn't be bead, but we were high on Jaycee Horn too

Was Parsons a wasted pick? When they took Elliott at 4, they went 13 and 3 the following year. Was Zach Martin a bad pick? Was Tyron Smith a bad pick? How about Lamb?
And exactly how many playoff wins did these players have?

Again…you define the participation trophy crowd. Jerry loves you. You never answered my question a few days back about whether you were first or second chair in the band. It’s evident you never participated in any sport on any level in your 15 years.

Seems someone else isn't crying and also defines the role of a fan for the right reasons.

Lol, actually was a state champion.

But what about those guys in their last year of their rookie contract who are trying to secure a better one? What about the vets who it might be their last year? What about the culture of losing constant losing engenders? Do you really think they'd be okay with going out there and risking their health knowing they're intentionally tanking? Now, I understand your point and at times, I agree with it, but I also see the other side's point. Given our front office and the 30 years of evidence, there's no way I'd trust these guys to make all of the right decisions in the draft so much that drafting a little earlier would turn everything around.

Would an earlier draft pick help? Sure, some. Is it a cure all? Absolutely not given the front office track record.

Be honest: if the team were still doing this bad, but Dak was in as QB, would you still be clamoring for a tank or would you be rooting for wins? (This is an honest question, not an accusation)
Get off the Dak hatred bro. It's got nothing to do with Dak. Regardless of who is at QB, if you already have 7 losses halfway through the season, you pretty much are not going to make the playoffs. Might as well lose out and secure a top 8 draft pick in each round.

So are they supposed to just tell the other team prior to the kick off that they are tanking and just not take the field ??

Only a Moron refuses to understand basic understanding or have common sense when it comes to pro sports
Your moronic way of thinking absolutely sucks. We see the results on the field.

So they are team tank ... they do not know or understand competitive sports. Like many fans.

So fans want players and a FO and coaches that give up on the season. Many players are playing for new contracts with Dallas, or another team. As well as pride.
Also many players have contract incentives.
I remember years ago, a player needed a certain percentage of plays to get like a $500,000 bonus. Dallas was out of the playoffs. But Jerry and the coaches wanted that player to play to get that bonus.

Drafting 8th or 15th is not going to put this team in the SB.

I do not want a team or players that quits.
you dont have that.

we have an owner who quits

But the key that folks are overlooking is that tanking is an organization decision. Not players.

A strong organization takes an honest assessment and determines they are not competitive or would not be competitive even if they somehow made the playoffs. The players aren't held accountable because it's a management decision. Miraculously players are hurt or have greatly reduced roles, etc.. Those who do play are just trying to protect themselves & get to the finish line.

We have a "hangin round the rim" GM so we won't be doing that and thus foregoing easiest, fastest path to address the numerous deficiencies we have.
Excellent post.
