But what about those guys in their last year of their rookie contract who are trying to secure a better one? What about the vets who it might be their last year? What about the culture of losing constant losing engenders? Do you really think they'd be okay with going out there and risking their health knowing they're intentionally tanking? Now, I understand your point and at times, I agree with it, but I also see the other side's point. Given our front office and the 30 years of evidence, there's no way I'd trust these guys to make all of the right decisions in the draft so much that drafting a little earlier would turn everything around.
Would an earlier draft pick help? Sure, some. Is it a cure all? Absolutely not given the front office track record.
